《Apocalypse Remnant`》The Silent Mall

The explosive sound of the gunshot had made Jason realize that he should think out of the box and not just follow anime and web novels, it was real life and real-life requires one to think with his brain to survive. He pulled up the system shop and purchased a silencer for his gun. He didn't buy one for the gun in harry's hands as if there came a need for two guns then there will be a group of zombies after them and there won't be a need to be silent about it then. The fact that the silencer cost him 100 points also played a key role in this decision.
He transferred the silencer to a pocket in his jeans and pulled it out from there so that he could at least hide some bit of his powers for now.
The act of him attaching the silencer did not go unnoticed.
"Superb idea" Harry Gave Jason a thumbs up with a crafty smile on his face. He didn't ask Jason how he got this as the things Jason was pulling up today were out of his mind and he had decided to go with the flow till Jason is ready to explain himself.
Jason pointed towards the stray zombies in the vicinity and shot a few shots to improve his accuracy and also try the silencer. While the silencer didn't make the sound of gunshots go away it still made the explosive sound go away.
"Let's go" Jason indicated Harry. He reloaded gun with a new magazine he pulled out from his pocket. The gun he bought from the store was a semi-automatic pistol with 15 rounds per magazine.
They walked towards the mall with small footsteps. Their hearts beating hard as mixed emotions clouded their minds. The anxiety and fear of facing the undead was there but mixed within was also the primal emotion of excitement which made their blood boil in anticipation of what was to come next.

Jason pushed the glass door of the mall made an almost silent creaking sound which would go unnoticed if not for the uttermost silence in the mall.
Their footsteps echoed in the mall as they made their way towards the racks which held canned food. The whole place was a mess filled with splattered blood and items sprawled on the floor. As they moved inside the mall they could hear a faint sound of flesh being torn and blood dripping on the floor.
Jason pulled up his hand and turned to Harry and put a finger on his lips in a silencing motion. He waved his hand for him to follow him quietly. He moved towards the place where the sound was coming with faint footsteps. As they moved closer they could see a group of 4 zombies tearing apart a pile of bodies. He suddenly saw a guy rising from the pile of bodies completing his process into becoming another zombie. Jason tip-toed closer towards the zombies trying to be as silent he can be.
Suddenly a zombie from the group raized his head as if it heard something. This made their hearts stop. They wanted to be as silent as they could be as this was a huge mall with 3 floors, it would have a huge number of zombies and he didn't want to fight all to them together it would be a death sentence for them.
Jason moved a bit closer and pulled out his gun and aimed at the zombie closest to him. He'll have to finish them fast before any loud noises are made.
*ziiip
The first bullet hit the zombie on the side of his head making it go limp. This made other zombies turn their blood-red eyes towards them chilling their hearts.
*ziiip *ziip *ziip….

Jason pulled the trigger unceasingly hitting the zombies in their heads, he missed a few rounds which made a collision sound with the wall. One of the zombies gave a loud screeching sound before a bullet smashed him in the forehead.
" well that went well," Jason said with a stressed face but with a smirk but that was wiped off his face as he heard hungry growls of zombies from his left. Another zombie group had been behind the shelf far off to the left of the mall and they were rushing towards them due to the sound created by the zombie.
The zombies were rushing towards them and there were at least a few dozen of them.
"Fuck me sideways!" Jason cursed.
"Here goes hiding the system." Jason cursed again.

Having found the tragic truth that an art degree is worth less than the paper it is printed on, Jacquelyn Jones is frustrated with her dead end work as a graphic designer for a marketing firm, finding new ways to try and convince people that this week's 50 cent off sale is actually worth driving to the store. She's tried other VRMMORPGs, but they've all been fantasy-based, with a couple sci-fi games thrown in. But she wants something more, something Super. Superhero VRMMOs have had a... subpar reception in the past, in part due to the fact that the nature of most MMOs makes for fairly unheroic tales. After the couple hundredth time blasting the same group of mooks from the same faction on the same street corner of the same city, using the same powerset as everyone else because you only have a few options, it is hard to think of yourself as a hero anymore. But then she heard about City of Champions Online. For the first time, a developer partnered with a tabletop RPG maker to use their system to create a VRMMORPG, and it was one of the systems designed to be used with superhero games! And despite the name, there was no getting stuck in the same city as all the other players. The game world was a detailed replica of the real world, down to having some of the same shops and restaurants in town. She could be whoever she wanted, whatever she wanted. Now, she just has to find a way to become the heroine she's always wanted to be.

Release Schedule: Tuesdays & Fridays @ 10AM PST This work has cannon LGBT themes, characters, and situations but does not have explicit sexual content. Originally started in 2005 as a form of self-therapy writing has helped heal many of my wounds. The world grew until the concept of it being self-therapy did not contain it anymore. Containing stories of a diverse population and multiple lead characters each chapter centers on the perspective on the main character in the chapter.
