“Hah, I won!” Kanami said, grinning.
“Stop that, idiot, I was definitely first.” Rikishi replied.
Kanami grinned.
“Eh? Did you really?” Kanami asked.
“S- Stop mocking me, you know it yourself!” Rikishi said, looking away.
“Oi- We don’t have time to make jokes, let’s wait until Nokado and Kimoto are back from their scouting.” Ukato said.
“Speak of the devil, they’re back.” Tado said, as Nokado and Kimoto walked back into the dark street, where both cars were staying.
Nokado grabbed his walkie talkie.
“The coast is clear, you all can come.” Nokado said.
“Yosh! Let’s get in there!” Takumi shouted, kicking the door open.
“O- OI! Don’t kick the door open!” Rikishi shouted.
“Sure, sure. Let’s go!” Takumi said, walking to Nokado.
Rikishi let out a sigh.
“Why is he always like this?” Rikishi mumbled, walking out the rover.
“You know him almost half a decade and this is what you hate about him?” Kuruka asked, laughing.
“What do you mean?” Rikishi said, looking at Kuruka.
“Ah, nevermind me, I am speaking out loud again.” Kuruka said, laughing it off.
“Guys enough talking, let’s go in.” Takumi said.
“Sure, but before that...” Kimoto said.
“We, the Seppuku clan will defend the outside of the building.” Kimoto followed up.
Takumi turned to them.
“The outside?” Takumi asked.
“Yes.. There will probably be more gangs coming up.” Kimoto explained.
“Yeah, you’re right. Then do as you please.” Takumi replied.
Nokado tapped Takumi on his shoulder.
“Oi, are you really fine with leaving Akane alone in the mansion?” Nokado asked.
“Uhh, yeah, why not?” Takumi replied.
“She could steal the money, you know?” Nokado said.
Takumi smirked.
“True, but she won’t.” Takumi said, smiling.
“How are you sure she won’t?” Nokado asked.
“Even if she does well catch up to her.” Takumi replied.

Nokado let out a sigh.
“Sure, but if she steals my percentage of the money I’ll grab it back from you.” Nakado said.
“Sure, I don’t mind.” Takumi said, smiling.
“Wait, you really don’t mind me taking a part of your money?” Nokado asked.
“Yes… Because I already finished my percentage.” Takumi replied, smiling.
“W- What?!- ” Nokado shouted in shock.
“Guys, now is not the time to talk about money, let’s go in.” Ukato said, as he followed the girls from the Seppuku clan to the Skyscraper…
- - Back at the Mansion - -
- 10 Minutes before the Fight -
Akane looked around while laying on the couch. The place felt empty, but it had a unique aura around it. She stood up, walking around the living room. Something caught her eye, what looked like a family picture.
She walked up to the family picture…
Her eyes lightened up, as she saw the six boys when they were younger. There were 2 people behind them. A man and woman.
“... Who are those?” Akane said to herself.
Her eyes suddenly widened up, as she heard the door close.
“I think those are Ryan and Anne.” The man said behind her.
Just as Akane wanted to turn, a rusty knife was set next to her neck.
“W-... Who are you?” Akane asked.
“That’s none of your business...” The man said.
“Well, then why are you here?” Akane asked.
“I am here just to have a look around the place… I do not mean any harm.” The man replied.
The man looked down and saw that she was wounded.
“Looks like you can’t do me harm, either.” The man said.
“Oh? I won’t be so sure-” Akane said, as she suddenly turned and swung a fist at the man.
The man caught her arm. Akane’s eyes widened up.
The man had a dragon tattoo covering his right arm.
“Maybe it’s better if you stay unconscious for a while...” The man said, grinning.

The man then punched Akane in her chest, making her faint. The man walked up to the family picture.
“Ishido, Takumi eh?...” The man mumbled, grinning.
“... You look really kind.” The man said.
“... Too bad you’re doing the wrong thing...” The man mumbled.
“... One day it’s gonna make you lose sanity and a comrade.” The man said, grinning…
- - The Skyscraper, Tokyo - -
- 3 Minutes before the fight -
Takumi slowly walked around the main lobby of the skyscraper. The place looked amazingly-luxe.
“So, where could those shitty European people be?” Rikishi asked.
“First of all, how would we know?” Kuruka replied.
“Second of all, European?” Kuruka said.
“Yeah? Something wrong with it?” Rikishi asked.
“There is literally one named America, and another named China, idiot.” Nokado said, holding in his laugh.
“O- Oh… You’re right.” Rikishi mumbled.
“Guys, come on, focus.” Ukato said.
“You’re right, but nothing has happened- ”
Suddenly the wall next to them exploded, blowing them all away.
Everyone quickly stood back up and grabbed their weapons, aiming at the door.
A man walked out of the hole, his eyes were glowing through the smoke…
Takumi’s eyes widened up…
The man had a grey suit, and he looked twice as long and big as the rest.
“W- What is going on?” Kimoto asked through the Walkie-Talkie.
“Someone bursted inside, probably The Golden Age gang.” Takumi replied.
“That’s right… The Golden Age gang leader, Grey.” Grey said, grinning.
“So? Looks like you’re on your own?” Rikishi said.
“That’s true… But...” Grey said.
“... Don’t underestimate me.” He mumbled, looking down.
Takumi looked at the man. His eyes widened up.
The man pulled out a remote detonator and pressed the button.
“Shit, take co- !”
Just as Takumi was talking, more explosions occurred.
The place was filled with smoke, that was slowly going away. When the smoke was gone, there was a huge pile of bricks in between Kuruka, Nokado and the rest. Ukato grabbed his walkie-talkie.
“Go split up, check the upper floors!” Ukato shouted.
“Got it, we’re moving out now.” Nokado replied, walking upstairs with Kuruka.
Takumi looked at Grey.
“Oh, looks like I just missed to get any of you.” Grey said, grinning.
“Don’t worry, we won’t die so fast.” Takumi said, pulling out a handgun.
“Oi, guys… I have an plan.” Ukato said.
“... But I need some time.” Ukato followed up.
Takumi turned to him, and nodded.
“Go do what you want.” Takumi said.
“Tado, stay close to me… Don’t do anything reckless.” Rikishi said.
“S- Sure...” Tado replied.
Suddenly Takumi pulled the trigger…
The place went silent…
Takumi’s eyes widened up…
Grey was still standing up, with no injury.
The bullet… Did he miss?
“Oi, that hurt… Don’t do it again.” Grey said.
“W- …. What?” Takumi mumbled.
Takumi kept shooting, until his magazine went empty.
They all were in shock…
The bullets flinched onto him, and didn’t give him any injuries.
“You don’t get it, do you?” Grey asked, grinning.
“This what I have…” Grey mumbled-
“... Is a Bullet-Proof Suit.”

“Oi, which way do we go?” Kuruka asked.
“We could split up, again, maybe we’ll find Yanagi just in time.” Nokado said.
“Sure, You check out this floor, I’ll go higher up.” Kuruka said.
“Oi, wait...” Nokado mumbled.
Kuruka stopped.
“Y- Yeah?” Kuruka asked.
“Don’t… Do something reckless.” Nokado said.
Kuruka smiled.
“Of course not.” Kuruka said, walking up the stairs.
His smile slowly turned into a frown…

[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Author's Note: Dungeons are Bad Business (DABB) is a slow burn slice-of-life dungeon core litRPG citybuilder that's focused on the day to day experience of running a dungeon. There will be some action, but it won't be the focus of the story and Vee and his friends will usually overcome their problems with their minds and their pocketbooks instead of their weapons. Since I'm participating in the writeathon, I will probably be uploading chapters almost daily for the duration of the event. Thanks for reading!
