《Aurelion》Chapter 2

After jumping past about a few hundred trees, I finally feel a little safer. I wasn't sure if the demi-human would be aggressive, but it was best to be safe than sorry because the demi-human was really powerful.
"Huff.... Huff..." I stopped to catch my breath and finally turned behind. "Haha, I guess I lost him. Maybe it's best to start searching for food now, my tummy is killing me"
I came down from the tree and walked around to save energy, hoping to find animals to hunt. A sudden rattling sound came from the left side. I jumped up on to the closest tree and begin my way to it.
"Hmm, it looks like a cow. I guess it's my lucky day." I said as I prepared my darts that was tinted with a chemical that can cause an animal the size of this cow to fall into a coma with only two hits.
Right when I started to aim at the cow with my blow pipe, a swift shadow flew out of no where and sliced the cow's neck. I rubbed my eyes and had a closer look. This creature had long ears and white hair, so I guess it was an elf. It looked to be just a little shorter than me.
I wanted to continue observing the elf, but my tummy was starting a riot in my own body, so I decided to make my way around the elf and continue looking for food.
I walked slowly and stealthily across the trees, to both save energy and stay hidden. No matter what, I don't want to face this elf. I estimated that it is a lot stronger than the demi-human and I don't think that I'll be able to escape it if it was aggressive.

I made sure that I was fully hidden and sure that I didn't do anything stupid to reveal my location, but I suddenly heard "You! Who are you!" I turned to the elf, both surprised that it found my location and can speak English. The elf was sitting there and tearing up the cow's meat like how I would eat a chicken drumstick. "Maybe it's just my imagination" I told myself.
I took another step, or at least tried to, when suddenly a katana slashed the branch in front of me. It appeared all a sudden and dissapeared as quickly as it came. I know that it's a katana, or at least something familiar, from the clean slash it left and the slashing sound it created from the sudden disturbance of air. "Don't move and tell me who you are!"
This time, I am sure it wasn't my imagination, so I replied "My name is Roland, I bring no harm." I hoped that the elf won't slice my throat in half all a sudden. Thoughts went through my mind as I think of ways I could use to escape if it ever comes to it. I could focus all my soul energy and create a burst where I can dash a short distance almost instantly if I needed to. But, if it were to use that attack it used to kill the cow, I might be dead meat without even having the chance to react. I can only take a deep breath and hope for the best
"My name is Kishi Rahl. I won't hurt you as long as you don't act rashly," the elf replied. "I can tell that you are hungry. Would you care to join me to enjoy this cow here?"
My tummy went crazy when it heard that. I don't trust him fully yet, but I guessed that trying to know him more won't hurt too. "Alright, thanks"

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.
