《Aurelion》Chapter 9

After Alduin disappeared, I turned to Kishi and said "Let's go find Ghork." "Yeah" he replied
We transversed into the thick forest. When we got to a slightly less dense area, I started a conversation with "Can you tell me more about that man?"
"I can't tell you much, because I myself don't know a lot about that man too." Kishi told me "All I know is that, that man is also a god, or should I say, the god of gods. Based on what I know, from Alduin and that man, he can be called the father of Alduin, but at the same time they aren't exactly related by blood like how a real family would be." Kishi started to explain deeper. "That man created Alduin and trained him. He also helped him grow stronger and set him along this path to become a true God......"
The words 'god' , 'man' , 'father' , and more were circling around my mind. My brain was unable to fully comprehend the explanation. So, in the end, I gave up trying and just pretend that, that man is Alduin's master who was also both a model and father figure to him, which should be true based on what Alduin said and Kishi's explanation.
I had a sudden thought after clearing my mind. "What do you think the demi-human will look like?" I asked Kishi. "Alduin said he is the master of the plasma eagle spi...... Wait! Could he just be the demi-human we saw just now, the one battling Alduin?"
"Yeah, it's likely."
"So.... Do you think you can win a fight against him? He seems very powerful." I was slightly worried that the demi-human would recognize me as the one who was secretly following him before. At the same time, I imagined a battle between Kishi and Ghork, if the demi-human were to attack me and Kishi were to help or protect me, or the both of them just wants to have a battle while totally ignoring me. An elf with the ability to seemingly summon Katanas out of thin air, and a demi-human who has an ability to 'awaken' his eagle spirit and allowed him to fly and even crazily increased his speed by so much that he is able to break the sound barrier, and when push comes to shove, able to turn himself into a basically slightly more eco friendly nuclear bomb as it doesn't leave nuclear waste but does almost as huge of an explosion as a real nuclear bomb.

"Who knows? It all depends on multiple factors"
"Huh? Come on, just tell me the chances or something if you want to act all so knowledgeable"
"I would say a 43.23% that I'll be able to beat him, a 32.5% chance of him being able to win against me, and also the other 24.26% that is consisted of the both of us agreeing to a draw before we started fighting, exchanged up to 5 attacks, or used up all our strength, and also the chances of Alduin suddenly appearing out of no where and defeating the both of us at the same time, a random thing happened and we had to pause our battle, and so on....."
"Huh... Ermm... Please stop.... My brain can't process it"
Kishi gave a little teasing smile and said "I knew that there was a 75% chance you would say something along the lines of that based on before. But, you stopped me from finishing. I was about to end it with 'But, the chances are still uncertain, as I only can predict his true powers and what tactics he might used in the battle'."
I gave him a 'are you kidding me?' stare and he just chuckled a little bit and apologized
Both of us started laughing as we continued trekking deeper. We basically been going in a straight line as the sun slowly descends behind the horizon
"It's getting dark. Maybe we should rest here."
"Let's go a little deeper. I can hear and feel the vibrations of a river, and what seems to be something sleeping on a tree near the river bank"
We continued our journey until we reached the river. By then, only the final rays of sunlight were left in the sky. I asked Kishi "So how far is the thing you mentioned? And also, are we close enough for you to determined whether it's the demi-human yet?"

"It is the demi-human. He is about 100 meters from here, downstream. But I believe that it's best we rest here and go to him at daybreak." Kishi told me.
"Yeah." I looked into the river. "There's some fishes here. We can get some food into our tummies before we rest for the day" Kishi just looked at my direction and turned as he walked away, but I already understood that it meant "okay" and he is going to collect firewood.
I took out my trusty pair of daggers, which are actually designed for both close quarters combat and throwing. I enchanted them with water magic to enable it to travel more smoothly and accurately in water by reducing water drag. I did a little aiming and threw my first dagger as the chance showed itself. In less than a second, the second dagger followed. The first one hit a single fish and started chaos in the school of fish. The second one, taking advantage of the chaos and direction manipulation from the first one, was able to hit three.
I jumped into the river to retrieve the fishes and my daggers. When I got back out onto dry land, I saw that Kishi have set up a small unlit camp fire and was giving me a stare down. I instantly got the message and threw my dagger after enchanting it with fire magic at the stack, and once again another beautiful fire was born.
I asked him and he explained to me more about Alduin, not about his past or where he came from, but what he is like, and what does he normally do and so on as we cooked our supper. After food, I taught him how to look for the best places to sleep on a tree. It took him a few minutes to properly understand it, but he was surprising fast to put it into practical use. We got into our chosen spots as we let the darkness of night take over.

Blood Quest - A LitRPG
Leon's family has been diagnosed with a new type of incurable blood disease. It's an absolute death sentence and when it turns aggressive, you only have a few more years of painful life left to live. His mother has just begun the last years of the disease when a person supposedly comes back from death with supernatural abilities. He talks about a choice you get after death--get an extra chance to come back to life, or die. Even with Leon's diminishing life span, he won't consider the option of going there, until he meets another survivor who had the same goal as him and succeeded. Leon has a choice to make—die now for a chance to save his mother, or die in a few years, where the disease rapidly melts his muscles from his own body. He enters a game-like world, a sort of limbo, where his ultimate goal is to climb the tower of Katastroph before his mother's time runs out. There are a few problems with this though. The tower is almost impossible to beat, if you die you won't revive, and only three people in over twenty years have actually made it back. Leon has two years to climb the tower, with the help of the few people willing to try, while Ai, the tutorial guide, makes things harder for them. ***** The story starts pretty dark but goes onto a lighter tone. Then (more) dark again. Disclaimer: This story is an experimental project and I hope to get any and all feedback you can give me. Warning: First draft. Chapters tend to be between 3400-4100 words long (about 8-11 A4-pages). Mentioning it since I've seen it in other fictions :P Sometimes they're shorter, sometimes they're longer. ******************************** CHAPTER RELEASES UPDATE: As the first "book" in the series is done, I'm going to release coming chapters somewhat sporadically, and when Writathon ends, I'll probably go back to publishing one chapter per weekend. We'll just have to wait and see! I hope you enjoy the story! I really appreciate all comments and feedback, so if you have anything to say, feel free to voice it :) ************ [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Stranger than Fiction (Draft Edition)
Rewrite -> https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/55140/stranger-than-fiction 150k words of rewritten and new content, updating 3 times a day. Faith is like ice-cream. It comes in all flavors. Greek, Norse, Sumerian, Christian— just name it and it's there. Adventures, on the other hand, are like credit cards. The first taste is free, but the price only goes up from there. Family heirlooms, now those are true evil. You get burdened with them for sentimental reasons even if they’re icky. For Lukas Aguilar, it was a pendant. A small, weird metal nib with absolutely no vampiric tendencies. All he wanted was to finish the job at hand, and get on that book he had been postponing for a while now. Instead he got served with an apocalypse for breakfast, a cave full of eldritch monsters for the company and the whims of a ruined goddess for his To-Do list. Really, a simple NO from the universe would have sufficed. Acknowledgments Editor-in-Chief: Solo Starfish Artwork: Exodus
