《You World》Chapter 12

The smell of rotten eggs awakes you.
Your entire body is in pain, buried under a pile of debris. You try to inspect your surroundings but it’s too dark to see. But you feel relief. At least you still breathe.
You have no idea where you are or for how long you have been unconscious for.
You struggle, pushing against the weight of the rubble as you blindly climb up. It’s hard though, harder than you thought. But you don’t give up.
You dig. Deeper and deeper. Endless digging. To complicate matters, this disgusting smell is making you feel like throwing up anytime. But somehow you hold on, barely hold.
You have to get out of here. You have to survive. But it seems there is no end to this. After hours of digging, you are about to surrender yourself to this cruel faith. Then without least expecting it, you realise you are out. You feel relief.
But this isn’t the time to feel happy, not yet. You’ve to find a way out of this place, quickly. You crawl ahead, using your hands to explore your surroundings. But it’s way too dark.
You lose balance, spiralling downwards. You descend, uncontrollable, to the very bottom. You land on the hard ground, although it seems a thin layer of water covers the surface.
Then the lights of this place miraculously turn on.
You are in an underground labyrinth, piles of bones surround you and a layer of blood is resting below you. You can see the splashed blood on your body quite well.
You slowly stand up, shivering. This feeling is terrible. This entire place is terrible.
You are about to scream in despair, then you hear a melody. A sweet and docile melody. With nowhere else to go, you decide to check the origin of this melody. You have no other option.

You move carefully, stepping on the blood as you pass from one tunnel to another, trying to get closer to the source of the melody. You frustrate yourself every time you encounter a death end. You walk and walk, becoming more anxious as you approach the source.
Then you see a door. Your body instantly comes to life and you forget about your pain. You run towards it. You believe it is the exit.
You find yourself inside a large hall. In the middle you see a large circular fountain made up of bones, blood spewing out from the eyes of the several skeleton heads surrounding it.
“For eternity, this place was unreachable,” a creepy voice echoed as the docile melody faded away.
“I don’t know who you are, or how it is possible for you to be here. But I know you are real, and that you are here. And that alone makes you special.”
“This is the 500th floor of the dungeon. The final floor. You are the first to arrive here, and you shall be the last. You are the one who shall inherit my legacy.”
Everything begins to vibrate. Several cracks appear in the foundations of the room and you fear that this whole place is going to fall apart.
A skeleton hand then appears from inside the fountain. The skeleton then arises, wearing a red jewelled crown. It looks down on you straight into your eyes. You can feel the tremendous power emitting from his body.
He walks towards you, then he brings out a golden chalice full of red water. He gives it to you.
“Drink it. Inherit my legacy! Only then can my spirit guide you out of this place, and aid you later on when you are stronger.”
“Reject my legacy, and this entire place will crumble. You will perish here along with my legacy!”

You hold the chalice tight with both hands. You inspect it. This water smells like blood. You can see the reflection of your face in it.
Drink the water. Accept his Legacy. Refuse the offer.

You approach the chalice next to your lips. You are petrified at of what might happen to you once you drink this thing. But this seems to be the only way left. The last option for your survival.
You close your eyes and start drinking it. You can feel the terrible pain with every swallow you make. It’s like you are drinking acid.
You are not completely done when your conscious fades away. The chalice falls to the ground and breaks into countless pieces. The skeleton smiles and crumbles before you. The entire place collapses.
And when you open your eyes again, you are greeted by the warm sun and sounds of flowing water stream not that far from you. A weird looking bird is nearby, but when it notice you are alive, it opens its wings and flies away.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

Surprisingly, in the fantasy LitRPG genre. A girls death forms the foundation for a plan centuries in the making. But when she shakes off their control, and forces the plans of beings millenia old to change, can she avoid being tied up as a loose end? With only what she could take with her in her mind, and a new body with surprising depths, she begins her new life in a world unlike her own. This is my first writing project in almost a decade, so there is going to be a lot of improvements from me as I shake off the rust. And of course, as the world I'm creating comes to life! So if you like the concept, please bear with me, and hopefully I'll reach the high standards I know you have. Edit (04/04/2018): Witness the power of my complete lack of any artistic talent! There is now cover art for this fiction. Its just barely better than the default, but hey, minimalism is in, right?

Homecoming | A Chronicles of Ascension Story
When Jethen was captured by slavers, his childhood was torn from him and left shattered half a world away. When he finds himself back home decades later, by methods he does not fully understand, he finds that the life he has lived has changed him far more than he knew. In a home he no longer knows. Places and people at the same time familiar and foreign, he must decide - stay and help with his parent's business, or return to the land that remade him and the family he made there. --------- Homecoming started as just a short story to break an episode of writers block. It has since morphed well beyond that into a novel in it's own right, and may well end up with a sequel. The writing of Homecoming became a bit of a self induced challenge to improve my initial, first brush, writing quality. Each chapter was written raw, given a once over read and edit, and then posted. In this way I am forcing myself to write better from the start. I do hope you enjoy the story and will leave a comment or review, and if you see an issue, feel free to let me know as well. I know it is not nearly perfect, and it will get a full and proper edit once I am done. Never hurts to fix things along the way though. As an additional note. The story has undergone a structural rework and has been reposted in an updated structure and sequence of chapters. If you have read this story already, I invite you to do so again in this new structure.
