《The Pentagon》Chapter 6: Specialist Class Introductions

It was 6am.
Neo looked at the time, he was still unbelievably tired but he couldn't do anything about it. This time, he actually had time to make himself breakfast as his first lesson is at 7am, however, this time, it's the Specialist Class.
He got up out of bed and instantly got dressed properly, and even did his hair a bit. This time his brown hair was purposefully messy, as apparently thats what guys did. Neo had no clue, that's just what he heard.
He went to the Kitchen and saw Paul eating a bowl of ceral.
At this point it was 6:30, since his hair didn't look right, he was fiddling with it for 20 minutes.
Neo rolled his eyes and went to the Specialist Class.
"Neo, where are you going? Magic Application got cancelled today". Paul started laughing
"Oh? Well, I'm go to my Specialist Class anyways". Neo rolled his eyes. He really didn't like Paul, he got on his nerves a bit, something about him didn't seem right.
Paul didn't say anything as soon as he heard Specialist. Instead, he kept his mouth open in shock.
Neo remembered the Specialist Class was on the third floor, room 2. It said this in the third email.
Neo walked out of the dorm and headed for the elevator.
As soon as he was about to get in the elevator a small petite girl was aswell, she even clicked the third floor button.
It was the same girl from early in the morning, who was using a greatsword. She even had a large greatsword on her back.
'I can't say anything, she doesn't know me. It's fine, I'll never have to see her again anyways'. Neo was sweating profusely.
The girl walked into the Specialist Classroom.
'For fucks sake'.
As they both walked in, the girl turned around and spoke to Neo.
'You're the guy who was watching me last night right? The colour of your hair, and your body is the same'. The girl was beyond confrontational.
'Oh! It was only for a few seconds, sorry about that, I heard a sound and wondered what it was. My names Neo'.
'Mine is Lily, next time don't be weird'. The girl pushed her glasses up and walked into the classroom.
"You two! It's 6:55, you're late by 5 minutes!". A loud, but delicate voice was heard.
Neo had a visible confused face. "Does it not start at 7am? My lesson starts at 7am usually today if I wasn't here".

"Are you a moron? It's called etiquette to get here 10 minutes early!".
The man went up to both the Neo and Lily and pulled them both into their seats. There were only three seats and one of them was already taken.
In the empty classroom sat 3 students directly in the centre with the Mr. Zaster infront of them.
"Introduce yourself, state your Modification, what it does, your affinity, your main weapon, aswell as your highest stat and the number, glasses you first!".
Lily was taken aback by the Glasses nickname, but she didn't stutter.
"I'm Lily Lark, my modification is called Swift. This means the lighter my melee weapon is, the more accurate and precise the jabs are, it's Grade 4. My affinity is a Sunflower, also, my main weapon is a Greatsword, because I don't know what my affinity entails, I'm currently just a Specialist and do not have a specific role. My highest stat is 3.6 in Agility".
As she ended her sentence she sat back down, before Neo rose, Mr. Zaster spoke.
"Lark. The family of Heavy Weapons. If you don't sort out your family issues by the end of this year, you'll be gone. Don't you think your Father would be more disappointed if you couldn't even make it through Pentagon? Stop being stupid and prideful. Being unnecessarily prideful doesn't get you anywhere".
Lily shuddered as she heard Father. She hasn't contacted him since she joined the Military Academy, it had been over three years. She was rigorously trained by the age of 5 to be able to efficiently use a Greatsword. However, her body was never adept to it, so she was verbally abused by everyone surrounding her, except her Father. Her Father was always kind, and never held it against her. He didn't care about the whole 'Heavy Weapon' Lineage, he cared more about her safety, to the point he was exiled as he disagreed with the treatment of young children. When Lily gained her Modification, she never attempted to contact her Father, or even the Lark family, she was too afraid of the consequences.
"Next!".
Neo stood up and spoke, like had rehearsed this in his head.
"My name is Neo Grace and my Modification is called Enhancement, which enhances my body to make it more sturdy, although the effect is pretty much nought as it's currently Grade 1. My Affinity is either Web or Poision, and my main Weapon are Sewing Needles, I'm currently a Support Specialist. My highest stat is Agility, which is sitting at 3.2".

"Useless. Grade 1? Can't even use it on others? Support? Nonsense, absolutely nonsense. The only thing that makes you semi useful is your weapon, that's it, you may be a Growth type but who cares about that? You're currently useless, next week I'm planning to shove you three into a Dungeon - alone, are you just going to sit there whilst they're being mauled to death? AND, what do you by 'or'? How do you not even know?".
"The image in my head was a Spider, so I was told it was either Web or Poison".
"Who told you? Sam? That girl. Did the Spider have any fangs like teeth?".
"Uhm, no". Neo was confused by the question. However as he spoke, The teacher looked like he was about to shout, he went bright red.
"Ridiculous, ridiculous. Stupid, epitomy of stupid. Your affinity is Web, not fucking Poision, what position did you get in the Academy?".
"4940". Neo was practically whispering at this point.
"4940!? Glasses, blondey, what about you two?". Mr. Zaster shouted his number.
"I got 9th". Lily spoke first.
"1st". Then the blonde guy did.
Neo felt like he was going to get spit on, he even went bright red.
'What the fuck did I do to this guy? I've never even met him, and why are these two so strong?'
"Blondey, next. I'm about to pop a vein with this guy".
"Hello, I'm Max Armitage. My Modification is called Arrow Head, it's Grade 6. It's kind of hard to explain, so I'll show you after. My affinity is Gravity. My main weapon is dual pistols, meaning I'm a Ranged Specialist Damage Dealer. Currently, I have two strongest stats, Perception and Stamina, both being at 3.9, although they've both been stuck at this since my third year at the Academy."
Whilst Max was speaking, he had a weird accent, it sounded country like.
"Where are you from?". Mr Zaster wasn't shouting for once.
"I was born in Falza, in the countryside". Max already knew the question was coming, his accent was so prominent it was normal to be interested".
As Max finished speaking, someone came barging in. It was a large figure, however his face didn't resemble an adult, although he had quite a lot of muscle, he still resembled a young teenager.
"I'm so sorry! I woke up late".
The boy pulled up a chair and sat next to Max.
Mr Zaster hit him across the head.
"Max, show us your Modification please".
Max nodded and stood up. Nothing looked different, however surrounding him were three 2D shaped arrows in the colour blue.
"This is my modification, Arrow Head".
Mr Zaster nodded his head. "Okay! Someone who isn't totally unreliable, however you may want to increase the number of them, currently you're using Guns as a placeholder correct? What is your actual main weapon, oh and Lily, what is yours?".
"My main weapon is actually a Sickle, however I don't know how to use my Modification and that together".
"Mine is a Rapier". Lily looked defeated as she said Rapier.
"Sickle? Strange. You're forbidden to use Guns, or any range weapon. You currently need to use a Sickle and only a sickle. Lily, since you're in a family crisis, you don't have to use a Rapier yet, however in the Dungeon Run next week, if you don't have satisfactory results, I'll force you to use a Rapier".
Lily just nodded her head, silently, like she had already lost.
Max didn't know what to say. He had the #1 title in his Academy, and now he's stuck to using a sickle? He had no idea how to react.
"Muscle Head! Say your Modification, what it does, your main weapon, affinity, and your highest stat, now!".
"Hello! I'm Alexander Lems, my Modification is called Pantheon, which essentially summons a large shield on me. The shield is able to block both physical and magic damage, and it can be recast if it's broken by an outside force, however it takes a minute to summon after it's been broken. It's currently Grade 3". I have two main weapons, a shield and an axe, because of that I'm currently a Specialist Tank. My affinity is Runics, or something along those lines! My highest stat is strength and it sits at 3.7".
As Alexander finished, he a bright smile on his face.
"Runics?". Mr. Zaster started clapping.
"??". Alexander was confused.
"It doesn't matter, you won't understand anyways".
With that, the introductions were over, and the lesson begun.

Gray's Crucible
“The value you have brought to trade is immense, more than a thousand fold what any other traveler to Crucible has ever produced. More than even I produced during my journey.” The old man paused for a moment here, seemingly reluctant to continue. After a few seconds he begins again with weariness creeping into his voice. “As the Messenger of Crucible I have received the value of your life. You shall be awarded a body with potential equaling the value you have brought to this place in accordance with the laws of the higher realms. Now you shall depart for Crucible, but first; I, Jaze, will give you some advice.” The old man, Jaze, he had named himself paused a time. Time enough that Gray began to wonder if he was still present, when he suddenly continued in a low and serious tone, “You will undoubtedly have great potential Gray of Earth, but it is still only potential. What could be is not necessarily what will be. If you step foolishly in my world, if you can not live up to the potential you have bartered for, Crucible will crush you mercilessly and tear away your very soul.” A thought, cheerful and light was heard from Gray before his presence was sent rocketing away like a shooting star. “I’m looking forward to it.”
