《The Sinful Mortal》An Ordinary Day

Humans were a very diverse species. Apart from having souls, they had very few things in common. They shared the same aesthetics and all of them had two legs and one head with a single nose and two ears. Their average life span was about 280 years and their average height was about 3.6 metres for males and 3.3 metres for females.
Since humans lived in different solar systems and galaxies, they had to keep their time synced. So, Jargon I created the Ortuses Calendar marking his ascension date as the first day.
A year was 420 days, a day was 20 hours, an hour was 60 minutes and a minute was 60 seconds. A second was defined as the time needed for light to travel 300000 kilometres. A year was divided into 12 months with each month containing 35 days. A week was seven days.

Galva Planet, Kaiser System, Mayall Galaxy.
Eighth of August, year 573, Ortuses Calendar.
It was a hot sunny morning, a boy, about 40 years old, was walking in the middle of a road. The boy was about 2.8 metres tall. He had short, black hair and two pairs of unusually deep, black eyes. His arms were covered with scales, from the back of his hand up to his elbows. In addition, he had a scaly tail. He was of medium build and had a slightly tanned skin. His face could be said to be ordinary.
He was walking with a group of kids, six of them to be exact. They all appeared to be around the same age. All of them were wearing a simple white shirt and blue pants. Above it they wore a red robe that had a logo attached to its back. It read, 'Mayall Academy.'
The boy, Artix Fergusson, raised his head to look at the three stars hanging there and said, in a complaining tone, "Why can't we just come to school at night?"

His voice contained a hint of laws. It seemed that you did not need to know the language to understand what he was saying.
"Because you have to be a good boy and sleep at night," said Jordan, a short, winged boy.
"Wow, you sound like my mom," said Alex, a four-armed giant, jokingly. He then realized that he said something wrong.
The group immediately turned to face Artix who waved his hand and said, "It's fine you guys. It's been a year already."
"You say that, but you've been locked up in the asylum for a whole year!" Pointed Edward, a two-mouthed guy.
"It's not like I wanted to stay, Okay? Those old fools just didn't let me leave," said Artix in a half-explaining, half-complaining manner.
"Huh, Why is that?" Said Edward.
"They thought that I turned crazy because of the incident," explained Artix.
Although the group found it weird, they didn't continue to probe. The group walked in silence until they reached a familiar wall. Through the gate, one could see many children walking around and they could also see grownups. There were many scattered buildings that looked like classrooms. There was a signboard that read, 'Mayall Academy'. This was the only public academy on the planet. Students from all over the planet, and even other systems, teleported from their towns using teleport portals. Although teleporting came with a cost, students were exempted from the fee. So, education was accessible to all. Children had to go to school when they became 32 years old and they graduated when they turned 60 years old. The graduates then had the chance to enter universities to further their studies.
"Well, here we are," said Artix, "Let's go inside before class starts, I don't want to hear Ma'am Helary complaining on my first day back."

The group entered and used a teleportation platform- a short-distance teleport portal- to arrive at their classroom. There was a signboard hanging on the door, "9-5057".
They entered the classroom and found that nearly a hundred students, boys and girls, were already there listening to the lecture.
"Damn," said Artix.
The lecture stopped and everyone in the room turned to face the seven that just entered.
"Well, well, look who we have here," said Helary, a middle-aged lady with three horns on her head, "I thought you lot learned your lesson last time," she paused and then continued, "looks like standing in the sun for an hour just isn't enough."
"Ma'am wait," said Edward hurriedly, "we came late because we were waiting for Artix so we can arrive together," then he brought Artix to the front and said, "Look."
Artix, who was taken by surprise, faced Ma'am Helary and said, "Morning Ma'am."
Silent whispers were heard from one side of the room.
"Silence," said Helary, she paused and then turned to look at the boy who she did not see for almost a year. She remembered the incident that happened a year ago.
On the twenty third of July, year 572, A Devil managed to break into Mayall and caused billions of lives to lose their lives. Artix's home system was close to the border and thus could not escape the disaster. Artix lost both his parents, his older brother and sister in the incident. Had it not been for Artix to be at school at the time, he would have not survived either. After sacrificing alot of soldiers and with the aid of Gods, they finally managed to take down the Devil. But the lives lost could not be returned.
Helary remembered clearly the look of Artix that day. He stood in his place crying and laughing like a madman. He tried to go back to check on his family, but all the teleport portals were down. Faced with helplessness, all he could do was to find a corner and sit down, his thoughts a mystery. No matter how they talked to him, he would not respond. Finally, a group of disaster relief people came and took him in for treatment.
Now, a year later, the same boy was standing in front of her, yet she could not see the cheerfulness he had in the past, nor the playfulness of a youth.
Putting on a gentle smile on her face she said:
"Good morning Artix."

Essentia Animus
Second Book of the Soul - Celesi Veil Trilogy When the living essence of three girls are put at risk, giving room for a second essence within themselves, even their hyper developed fantasy world might not be enough to contain their new found ambitions. Another story of another world, these three girls must adapt to their new essence, all while each is left to question if they are truly still even alive. While this story is a sequel of the previous story in the trillogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, taking place in a distant corner of a Celese returning readers will be otherwise incapable of recognizing. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for the previous book, in case that matters to anyone. This story takes place over two centuries after the events of Vitae Memorandum, when Celese had developed into an advanced world, improved to a point that it is much like modern-day Earth while still using the gift instead of technology. The Aethyx languages are still present in this book, and even English still exists in the world after the events of the previous book, but are much less of a focus after the same closing events of the previous book. What is instead important is how the ending events of the previous book had resulted in the start of the Instrumentation Era, and exactly how the gift translates in a modern-day sense. While this book is still effectively a fantasy world of its own kind of magic, it isn’t the classical medieval scene that would be typical for such a story. The laws of science still do not exist in Celese, but that didn’t stop it from developing into something that looks similar enough. Earth itself still remains present on the other side of the veil, and its previous exposure continues to shape and advance Celese into the world it has become. This story contains scenes exibiting mania and similar dark themes, as it goes to great length to explore concepts of life and death. While the degree of such themes should not be considered to be as serious compared to matters such as actual horror, the psychological depth is still siginifcant enough to be potentially concerning for people sensitive to matters of this nature, such as any individuals with concerns questioning matters of suicide, mental harm, or a variety of emotional injuries. While none of these subjects actually occur in the story, readers who are currently troubled by such matters may find themselves considering old wounds if they are especially capable of empathy while reading, which could lead to furthered emotional or mental stress. Readers with a high capacity for empathy may find themselves troubled by concerns regarding any potential lack of mental/emotional control as well as considerations regarding the meaning of death. Readers who appreciate subtle dark themes in a story may instead find this to be an interesting twist of the same idea.
