《The Sinful Mortal》Road
Advertisement
"Humans first discovered the Eternal Road when they realized that a connection appeared in the depths of their souls. No one knows why this connection appeared nor do they know why it connects to the road. We also don't know if the road was formed with the connection or was it there before the connection appeared. The Eternal Road is a big mystery. We practically know next to nothing about it. What we do know is that when we try to probe the connection and infuse mana into it, we are transferred to the beginning of the road. The Eternal Road is in the shape of a tunnel. The walls of the tunnel are made of seven different-coloured lights. The colours are black, yellow, red, green, gray, white and blue. Each colour corresponds to one of the major laws. Black is space, yellow is time, red is death, green is life, gray is fate, white is illusion and blue is reality. In normal times, only a Law Master can see the colour of the law they mastered. The pavement is golden in colour making the road extremely beautiful and majestic," said Samantha.
"Miss, have you been there?" Asked the students, eager to know the answer.
"Yes, I have been there. Unfortunately I couldn't withstand the pressure and came out after a few years," answered Samantha, then she continued, as if to comfort herself, "The average person can only endure for a few months at most. It is a test of mentality more than a test of endurance. Not many can endure the loneliness on the road after all. Not to mention that you need to endure immense pressure on top of that."
"Anyway, where was I?" Wondered Samantha.
"The road is extremely beautiful and majestic," answered one of the students.

"Right! So, when walking on the road, you will have to bear a pressure that increases the deeper you go in. This pressure will strengthen your soul and body without you needing to do anything. It will also strengthen your control over the mana in your domain. You don't need to fear hunger nor thirst on the road. Nor do you need to fear that you will grow older. Your body won't age on the road. You won't feel tired either."
"This is amazing," exclaimed the students.
"Yes, it is," agreed Samantha, then she continued, "fifty years on the road is equal to a year outside. A human who hasn't practiced before only needs to walk for about 10 years to become a Law Phase Warrior. That's only in theory, of course. Such a human is unlikely to withstand the pressure for more than a month. But, regardless of that, it means that walking on the road is 20 faster than normal practice with mana. A Law Phase Warrior would need to walk for nine thousand years to reach the Law King Realm. This is about 180 years outside. One must know that it would take a normal Law Phase Warrior ninty thousand years of continuous practice to reach the Law King Realm. The main reason that the appearance of the Eternal Road was a crucial factor to the rise of humanity is that it gave rise to countless Law King Warriors. Before that, one needed to consume many high level nutrients, pills and elixirs to hasten their progress. Human Law King Warriors were too few before the Eternal Road appeared."
"Miss, if I run, won't I be able to hasten my progress?" Questioned one of the students.
"You can't run there even if you wanted to. The pressure you will have to bear is no joke. Also, if you stop walking, you would be expelled. So, once you take your first step, you can't stop. Once you're expelled you would appear in the same place you entered from. This means that you most likely would appear in outer space since the system and the planet would have long moved away. This is why you should book a room in a specialised hotel before going on the road. These hotels are spaceships that are designed to stay in place for long periods of time."

"Another thing is that you can't bring anything with you. In fact, you would appear on the road without clothes! Which is another reason that you should go and book a room in the hotel. You also can't command the laws or utilise mana there."
"You would appear on the road alone. Even if two people were to probe their connection at the same time and be transferred together, they wouldn't be able to see each other. It is unknown whether there are countless such constructions or that the space is overlapping there so each person occupies a layer. But, no differences in description of the road were found from those who came back and no special cases were discovered. So, scientists are in favour of the second opinion."
After a round of questions and answers, Samantha continued, "When you are expelled, you would lose your connection with the road. It is a once in a life time opportunity, so don't put it to waste. It is best to use it when you become a Law Phase Warrior. But, not many become a Law Phase Warrior before they die of old age, so it is recommended to use it after you graduate from university or school. You can also keep it as a way to escape from danger in case an accident happens."
"Miss, what if you continue to walk after you became a Law King Warrior?" Questioned one of the students.
"Nothing would change, but the effect of the pressure would be drastically reduced. The pace of progress would be the same as the progress of practice outside even with the time factor. The only benefit is that it gives you better control over mana in your domain compared to those who practiced outside. But, most people choose to quit when they reach that stage," answered Samantha.
Then Samantha chose few student to summarise what they have learnt.
"Alright, it's almost time, I will let you leave a few minutes earlier, have a nice day," said Samantha.
"Have a nice day, Miss," answered the students in unison.

The Elemental Arena
*A Rational-Adjacent litRPG Survival Series.* The time for the trials has come, pitting the mortal species of the galaxy against one another. By completing challenges, clearing dungeons, and defeating rival species, the players may forge themselves stronger and smarter. But only one species will be declared the winner. Earth has finally qualified... ...and participation is mandatory. A twenty-nine year old data entry clerk works together with a group of internationally diverse players to survive. Learning synergistic skills and using teamwork, can humanity achieve an upset? If they don't, their lives are forfeit. Author's note: Chapters will be anywhere from 6k to 10k in words, varying based on the plot beats instead of specific word counts. Realistic actions and teamwork will be important aspects of my story. I'm trying something a little different in writing a realism focused litRPG, hoping to capture the essence of how real people would react to their situation. People are complex and don't always get along. I don't recommend starting the series expecting wish fulfillment tropes just because it's tagged litRPG. It's a survival story with the game settings on Hell difficulty. The plot hasn't gotten there yet, but in the future of the series I want to recreate my nostalgia of forty person raids on Ragnaros, but with the high stakes of boss battles in Sword Art Online. I also love puzzle rooms so expect one of those each book. Warnings: mild PG-rated language, graphic violence and gore, and graphic medical content.

Sengoku Demon Chronicles
Sengoku-era Japan was already batshit crazy. Now it’s got demons. ~~~ Japan 1541-2. Miho, a young village guy [with a female name], is on the trail of his mysterious lost love when he unwittingly saves the life of Akira, a cynical ashigaru [low-level samurai]. By doing so, he incurs the wrath of a box demon who is way too petty to just let it go. After that, it’s mostly downhill. ~~~ Includes: purple mist demons, portals, Yuki Onna, other demons, warlords, ashigaru, a try-hard mage, an eight-tailed fox and an endless litany of pathological liars. Historically, it’s about as accurate as most Hollywood productions. Hopefully, a little better. ~~~ Note: due to having fewer followers than a no-touch, no-look sex cult, I'm taking a break from this for August/September. Will be back in October to finish off Volume 1 and start off Volume 2.
