《Zoomchard: A Journey of War》CHP 9: A Silent Thought

Indifferent muffled voices entered the barrier and seemed to be in a little scuffle.
"Why aren't you paranoid?" One male voice asked with irritation.
"Why should I be paranoid?" A relaxed voice responded.
"Because this guy single-handedly overwhelmed a leader of a nation that thousands of countries struggled to do and it looks like he and Khunex have a history together." The voice became bitterly clear, fluttering through the air as the voice bounced back.
"I don't see any issues in that. Khunex tends to have tendencies to mistake the identities of another bot to the point it affects his fighting."
"Seriously? You're going by that now, Derton? Why are you being stubborn over this random bot who might have a secret twisted mind and maybe a spy? Is it because he reminds you of your son?"
"Do not mention my son, Zenhu," Derton demanded with a ferocious tone.
"That's what all this is about!" Zenhu snarled loudly.
"It is not about-"
"Yes, it is, Derton. You're so stubborn that you're going to get this stranger killed as well!"
As the heat grew to a tipping point, it suddenly depleted when Zoomchard slowly sat up from the medical bed in an unfamiliar area. It was a military hanger that was vast in size but uninhabited in sound. The only robots that were seen in this hangar were Derton and Zenhu who both now had their eyes on Zoomchard. One was pleased and the other was dripping in uncertainty.
"Where am I?" Zoomchard groaned, caressing the side of his head to relieve the unbearing discomfort that thumped maliciously.
"You're in an occupied-" Derton was about to form.
Drawing his pistol from his back, grilling the grip as the steam of hostility escaped from Zenhu, jostled the end of the barrel down on Zoomchard's forehead; staining an outline as a bullet was clearly shown loaded, "What the fuck was that?"
"W-What was-" Zoomchard sputtered in shock, waving his hands at Zenhu who aimed another pistol at Derton who tried pulling Zenhu away.
"Zenhu, stop it!" Derton urged desperately.
"Don't play dumb, retard. We all saw you casually fight Khunex and overwhelmed him." Zenhu spat, nudging the barrel down on Zoomchard harder, shoving him onto his back.
"What fight? I don't remember-"
"Oh! You're PLAYING stupid, NOW?!" Zenhu roared, turning off the safety on his pistol to show he was serious.

"Zenhu… Calm down," Derton disputed, remaining calm in a treacherous moment.
"Don't tell me to calm down-!"
"Look, I don't know what happened either. As soon as I entered that area I felt myself fading away. I felt unnatural!" Zoomchard rambled, squinting his eyes. This explanation worked simply as Zenhu felt answered and pulled the pistol away from Zoomchard's head and shrugged Derton away from him.
"You felt yourself fading away?" Zenhu asked with a concerned stare.
"Y-Yes, my emotions and everything correlating with emotions faded away like I was becoming an entirely new person but I saw everything up to the point Khunex charged at me." Zoomchard stammered, sitting himself up in a rush to explain more in detail and pronounce his words with effort.
"Now you say it. I did get a glance from you and your eyes freaked me out — you looked at me like I was a stranger." Derton validated, rubbing the bottom of his chin.
"And all of this started happening when we approached this site. So that means if Khunex is the one that influenced you to change dangerously to a point you became a new person; it means Khunex was watching us from afar the whole time." Zenhu mumbled.
"What's going on?" Belthrissa asked with a heavy puff as she approached from behind Zenhu. Nothing was said but Belthrissa knew something was up with the pistol Zenhu held in his hand to a terrified Zoomchard and a reluctant Derton who kept his stern eyes on Zenhu strictly.
--
The ambience felt broadly distinct when Zoomchard exited the building after getting patched up with metallic foil to barricade the wound on his hips. Everyone looked at him with caution and stayed away from his grip. It's the same feeling Zoomchard felt in his childhood; a void of hauling heartache. Zoomchard reacted calmly to it though, he clenched his fist and left his stare off the onlookers and roamed the thin line of occupation, seeing the blazes of fire in the distance and the rattle of screams.
Zoomchard saw himself fall back to square one. No, he was always at square one. Nobody was nice enough to hang around Zoomchard in his enrollment as a Trench Infantry Private. The negativity never found itself sleeping peacefully in Zoomchard's home as it was a normal occurrence for him. Even though he was a true friend to Jasmette, he wasn't a true resident of the city like he was a walking ghost.

"Fucking disease." Zoomchard snorted with a rigid throat, quenching onto a cliff to hang himself above the spirals of tears. Zoomchard looked behind him and saw the regiment he was in abandoned him as they all shuffled together except Derton, Menos and Anatolfia.
He felt that building a line of confidence finally snaps. The path between him and the crew disintegrated. A light that gradually grew bigger and bigger inside Zoomchard exploded into nothing.
Zoomchard felt hopeless.
"Huh…?" Zoomchard uttered as he focused his watering eyes onto a glass bottle filled with green truitz rolled towards him and clanked against his foot. Zoomchard picked it up curiously and investigated the bottle until he saw a glimpse of one of the black knights standing in front of him motionless.
"Were you the one that gave me this?" Zoomchard asked the knight.
The knight nodded unhurriedly.
"Oh, thank you." Zoomchard glowed, turning the lid to pull it off and drank half of the green truitz. After drinking some of it, he gestured the bottle at the knight who shook their head sideways.
"Uh, what's your name?" Zoomchard asked.
The knight didn't respond, it stood still and covered the ground with awkwardness. But it eventually moved as it crouched down, stretched their index finger that extracted a small sharp blade. Then the knight slowly wrote letters that were mixed with Japanese and Arabic into the ground.
"Zers Knight…?" Zoomchard said the words written on the ground. The knight glanced at Zoomchard and nodded enthusiastically. "What about the others?"
Zers Knight proceeded to write more words on the ground, "Bers Knight and Vers Knight. We are members of the Classified Silence Organisation."
"You're part of that? No wonder you're so quiet." Zoomchard chuckled, finding himself thinking something as he analyzed Zers Knight's blue eyes that shimmered from inside of the slit gap.
"Are you from the Kingdom of Foslampsi?" Zoomchard asked.
Zers Knight buffered for a moment and nodded. Zoomchard smiled to the nod and got onto his knees and began writing something as well with his sharp index finger.
"How can I tell who's who?" Zoomchard wrote, but the words were different in accent and looked more Russian mixed with Greek. Zers Knight read the words and glanced at Zoomchard like they were silently gasping in shock.
"You're fluent in Foslampsi? It's a difficult language to learn." Zers Knight writ back, snapping into a calm composure before.
Zoomchard laughed at the question.
"Well, when you're in a convenience shop all day and bored, learning languages becomes a hobby."
"The way you can tell the difference is the colour strip around our left arm." Zers Knight writ, demonstrating the yellow colour strip that wrapped around their forearm.
"Oh ok, thank you," Zoomchard said in the Foslampsi language, forgetting the depressing thoughts of leaving the regiment and retiring as a soldier.
--
"It seems like you've caught feelings for Zoomchard," Belanna snickered as she walked beside Belthrissa who was watching Zoomchard interact with the Zers Knight with an isolated stunning smile.
"No… It's just not common to see him genuinely smile." Belthrissa sighed, rolling her eyes at Belanna. Belanna didn't respond and had a quick look at Zoomchard, feeling herself be persuaded with an unfamiliar feeling that she never felt before as the only sunshine that glew was the soft cast on Zoomchard smiling freely while the world around Belanna and Belthrissa withered.
"Hah." Belthune snorted, joining the group as she stood next to Belthrissa, "Look at you all-" Belthune teased with confidence.
"SHUT UP, BELTHUNE!" Both Belthrissa and Belanna yelled, shrinking Belthune back into her shy shell and remaining quiet.
--
Zoomchard waved goodbye to Zers Knight and watched the robot fly off after kicking up dust from the ground that smothered sentences stretching into full stories of various topics. The idea of leaving resigned from Zoomchard and he felt himself grow once again.
Turning around, he saw the Bel Triplets staring at him and were drooling as they entered a realm of their own. This weirded Zoomchard out but he then locked eyes with Zenhu.
Zoomchard mentally felt Zenhu dig at him and wasn't holding back. Zenhu kept hold of his pistol by his side and didn't return Zoomchard's accidental stare with a gentle smile. As a hurricane thrashed into the climate, souring coarse fences of puzzling rain under a red gleaming sky, launching the dead bodies through the air and being projected into an eighty-foot thin tornado — only the flicker of tension emitted a mistrust between two robots who were causal on each other before kept the ground intact.
