《In the End the Truth Remains》Prologue: Was this the Beginning, or the End?

Many cultures and religions have predicted the apocalypse. What most of them had in common, was that a higher being or cause was at the center of it. Furthermore, it was going to be out of humanity’s control. The truth about the end, is the exactly the opposite. Instead of a God using his powers to destroy the world, he gave humanity the means to destroy it ourselves. How so? By giving humanity power that came from their mental perspective/personal philosophies.
To begin to describe the the end, we have to go back to the time when the world was on the verge of a nuclear World War III. At the time a few corrupt countries gained the means to create intercontinental nukes. As tensions escalated, war was inevitable. A year later, countless missiles were launched into the air, and many knew that no spot on earth was going to remained untouched. As humanity was prepared for its destruction, a multi-tonal sound resonated throughout the world, and all the nukes disappeared. After the world’s leaders realized this, a voice spoke in all known languages:
“It breaks my heart to have watched my beloved creations drive themselves to the point of extinction. Even worse so, many do not know what they die for. It is time for the truth to be revealed, so that none may deny it any further. I shall give you all what you have desired. I shall remove my presence from the earth, leave you to your own devices, and give you power. The truth of who you are shall be revealed, your pride, your lust, your envy, your flaws. You shall know yourself, and you shall know each other. All that will transpire, will rest on your shoulders. From now on the only person you can blame is yourselves. If there are some that come to search for me or continue to search for me, then when the end comes for them, they shall join me and be fulfilled forevermore.”

The Christian apocalyptic texts, referred to an event known as the Tribulation, or great trial/oppression. Well, unbeknownst to the world, this was the best description for what was to come.
Soon after the voice stopped, people started demonstrating amazing powers. The world came to call it the day of liberation. For a while no one knew how these powers worked, but eventually it was discovered to come from people’s mindsets, or their own personal philosophies. The world came to name their new powers Sophia, which in Greek means wisdom. Each Sophia is unique, in terms of aptitude, strength, and manifestation. Eventually disparities in Sophia became apparent and many used their own Sophias to further their desires. Months later, this led to a devastating worldwide conflict that was aptly named, “Mortis Causa” or Latin for “Death of Reason”. In that time, countries fell, and many smaller countries took their place. Peace loving people were killed, and Religions fell apart due to constant violence and persecution. Much knowelge was lost, in the form of texts. Those who had great power became like kings, either for influence or necessity. Democratic governments became forgotten and the world returned to an almost feudal like state. With history forever altered, the clock was restarted on this new age.

“Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”

Cornucopia of Hope
The graduating class of Hope's Peak Academy has been kidnapped sometime after their graduation ceremony. They wake up in a beautiful, plush mansion with no idea where they could be other than the name Our Mansion of Plenty. The physical barriers of steel plates and locked doors might not be enough to cage them, if it weren't for the malicious mechanical fairy calling itself The Fey and ruling their new lives with an iron--albeit tiny--fist. While being kidnapped is bad enough, the fact that this fairy brat is telling them to kill each other is definitely worse. Apparently, murdering one of your fellow victims is the only way to get out of this luxurious mansion. But nobody would do that...right? Cornucopia of Hope is a non-canon killing game completely alienated from the the canon universe of the Danganronpa games. The things borrowed from the games are as followed: Hope's Peak Academy, and the structure of 16ish hyper-skilled teenagers trapped in an enclosed space and being subjected to a motive, a murder, an investigation, a trial, and an execution of the presumed killer. There are no spoilers, tie ins, or previous knowledge required of the series to read this story!
