Rabon Fooz's POV-
It came to me as a surprise that the enemy turned into a friend but then I remembered that warmth I felt when I stepped on the light side. She was righteous by nature so she helped me escape away. But I was still a long way away from the tree. I ran like a dog to its owner at full speed. Behind me, sounds of battle were increasing by every second.
"If you touch that tree of life you will be excluded from the trial and the winner between the two of the spirits will decide if you will live or die. " The commanding voice again came at the right time to give valuable information. I kept running towards the tree but even after running for a minute, the tree seemed to be at the same distance I started. Was this place playing tricks on me Or was I tripping? I still kept running but the same thing happened again.
Suddenly a thought came to my mind. I started running sideways and the spirits followed me. Then with all my courage using the female warrior as cover I took a U-turn and started going to my starting position. I again looked back towards the tree and finally realized something.
The tree was never close to me. The tree was so big that it looked like a normal tree not far away from me. Because this place was not the earth, the horizon could be just a place infinite distance from me so even if the tree was hundreds of kilometers away it would look normal because this world was not spherical.
I judged this world from a narrow perspective. But then why did the voice ask me to go towards the tree. Why did I even trust the voice?

"Good. You have passed the first test. You have potential. I should give you some advice. This trial is all about judgment. Now take my advice as you want. I will come back after the trial or your end. " The voice faded into the background leaving the question to be answered. But I had to find the answers quick because the fight between the spirits was starting to get intense. They had unmounted and were fighting with their own prowess.
The warrior stabbed with her rapier but the king evaded it with ease. She retracted and stabbed at insane speeds again trying to hit all the vital spots of the king. The king was just in kingly robes no protection whatsoever was needed, just his big sword and him. He evaded the stabs by weaving. But something unexpected happened when he just grabbed one of the stabs between his fingers. He pulled the sword which in turn also pulled the warrior. He let go of the rapier and used that hand to knock off the helmet of the warrior. But she blocked his approach with her shield and kicked him to create distance.
The king moved his big sword with momentum and attacked her from the side. The warrior tried time to block the attack with her shield but it was cut in half by the sword. The armor behind it was the real deal as the sword couldn't cut through it but the impact was so big that it sent her flying. He then changed his target and walked toward me at a slow pace. I didn't run as it was not going to help me anyway. He looked at me with no emotions and slashed his sword downwards towards me.
The warrior had already stood up and covered the distance between us in a blink of an eye. She tackled me and tried to save my life. She did her best and saved my life... With a little loss. My right hand was gone. It was lying on the ground and blood was flowing from my right side. There was no pain accompanying it may be because of the adrenaline rush. The warrior looked at my hand with horror and started crying. It didn't go on for long as she quickly wiped her tears and started attacking the king.

Ogre Tyrant
Tim wakes up to find he is naked and alone in a fantasy world. However, he is not as alone as he first thought. There are other people running around all over the place fighting monsters for a living. Unfortunately for Tim, he seems to be one of those monsters. Desperate for any degree of safety and normalcy he can find, Tim must tread a fine line between freedom and subservience to survive. All while trying to keep alive a trio of adventurers hellbent on becoming legends. However, unfortunately for Tim, he is not the only one from earth to awaken in this world and the other Awakened aren't nearly so benevolent. Warning: The protagonist begins the story quite cowed and meek but progresses into a more assertive and situationally dominant personality. This is partly due to growth, but also a result of the character overcoming initial shock and longstanding depression. If you think I could have handled a segment better, by all means, point it out and provide your reasoning and suggestion. Everyone's experience of depression is different, and Tim's is a close representation of my own, so it won't necessarily 'vibe' with everyone. Chapters are around 15k words and released approx 1/week over the weekend. Has been reduced to around 7.5k to 9k to better fit my schedule.[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

I Have Even Read the Rulebook!
As all stories begin, Prof died. Yes, truck-kun had something to do with that, but also a bird, a cat and some rebar. When he was presented with with the opportunity in the Afterlife Administration Bureau to be transmigrated into a game-like fantasy world, he did something, no one ever did: he read the Rulebook. Follow Prof on his road to be rich without working, touring a whole new world without a care and witness his realisation, that despite having read the Rulebook the folks living with the System for untold millennia know more about the rules. Important notes: 1, I'm not a native speaker, so be prepared for occassional typos, iffy grammar and maybe awkward sentences. The spell check was running, when I wrote the chapters, but it works in strange ways... If you point out mistakes, I will try to correct them 2, Scheduling will be two chapters a week, posted Saturdays before noon (CET). Depending on how much new chapters I can write consistently there will be probably more but as long as I have leftover chapters, the two per week will be posted no matter what. Chapters will be around 1500-2500 words as MS Word counts it. 3, I did not and will not post this novel on another site, if you find it somewhere else, please inform me 4, The Main Character's progression is slow, there will be no Levels, Skills, Abilities, Feats, Perks and Cheat Powers raining down on him 5, I've put Comedy as a genre because of my writing style not because the novel is a comedy per se. On the other hand, Traumatising Content is there because there is a lot of speciesism - those Elves are not nice people. 6, I put a lot of pop-cultural references into the chapters, try to find them! Enjoy!
