Bala's POV-
I was sitting in one of the areas inside the stadium made for the participants. It gave us a closer look at the fights. I fixated on two people, Risa and Mirik.
Risa was fighting another guy whereas Mirik was fighting a red-haired guy no. 99. Their fight had started and I could instantly tell that this would be a tough fight for him. The build of that guy was something else. He was tall and had a reach advantage on Mirik. Not only that he had muscles hidden under his clothes.
Mirik's quick reaction saved him or it would've been an instant knockdown. Now that Mirik had created some distance between themselves, they both stood there and assessed each other. Mirik used to be the type to counter but the situation made him first.
He again attacked him, this time with his staff. This was the first time I saw him use a weapon. He slashed down with his staff and the other guy dodged the attack by stepping back. As the missed attack hit the ground he stepped on the staff making it impossible for Mirik to recover it. He attacked Mirik with his claw. Mirik spun as he barely dodged the attack and at the same time he changed his staff into the baton. The staff snapped from 99's foot and provided extra momentum to Mirik's spin. Mirik attacked with his baton towards 99's head.
99 saw the attack coming calmly and used his other hand to grab the powerful attack like it was nothing. The stopping of the attack made Mirik's hand stop immediately and if not for his training his wrist would've been broken. Even then this numbed his hand as his expression changed a bit.
99 attacked with his claw as he held Mirik's baton in the other hand. Mirik again changed his baton to staff but this time he was as he just moved his body and made the staff miss him.

The claw made Mirik dodge, but it also made him leave his weapon. Now without his weapon, Mirik was like a sitting duck waiting to be slaughtered. 99 grinned as he held up the staff with his hands and brought it down to its knee. Everyone heard a cracking noise, loud enough to be even heard by me.
But the result was something very unexpected. The thing that broke was not the staff but his knee joint. He sat down crying in agony as he held the cursed staff in one hand and his knee in the other. He looked towards Mirik furiously as he would chomp him down.
Mirik didn't miss this opportunity and ran towards him at full speed and drop-kicked him. But even with one leg down 99 redirected his kick and threw him to the side. But he quickly realized something as he saw something was missing from his hand. Mirik quickly got up as his aim from the start was not to injure him, but to take his staff back. Now with the staff, he had an upper hand on the already injured 99.
He started poking 99 with his attacks which he was easily defending against. The situation was in a deadlock. The fight was getting more interesting.

People. Harmony. Dysfunction
[Hiatus]People are extraordinary. They are glorious, chaotic, imaginative, grim, all kinds of smart and driven. They are capable of living in harmony or incredible destruction. They can be both caring and loyal but vicious and self-centred. However, Olivia wished that the first year of her PhD didn't have to showcase quite so much of the melting pot. People. Harmony. Dysfunction. is a story that follows a research group through the drama and challenges life throws at them. It has an (unspecified) modern setting and focuses on the characters. I've tried to rate this pre-emptively, but unfortunately it might change as the story evolves.

DarkBoi69's mediocre, rushed and badly-written aventure
Follow DarkBoi69's edgy adventure as I move him through a shitty plot where he meets terribly-written characters like angry evil stupid villains and naive cute useless busty women. This story is not really an actual serious story but simply a writing exercise for me to focus on overall writing speed, forcefully insert some writing in my everyday life to increase productivity and most importantly help with turning ideas, thoughts or feelings into writing directly without feeling blocked, hopefully trying to achieve something as close as possible to writing unconsciously what i’m thinking about. I'll probably try to do something like writing as much in 30 mins as I can, nearly every-day. So far I've only done this once and it already seems like a pretty good thing to do. I don’t have anything planned and that’s probably going to be a constant for every one of these exercises, so it’ll end up being not very good (although maybe better than it has any right to be? ) and nonsensical.

Rolf The Barbarian Battlemage
Our story began on the frozen tundra, where barbarians roamed over thousands of years after the first landing of Bok. They were hearty warriors that valued strength and honor above anything else. Rolf the rat boy was the adopted son of Chieftain Kram of the Wolverine Tribe, although the latter claimed that the boy was merely his spoil from a war with the devious rat-men, Stakors. Being bullied and looked down upon by the tribe, Rolf was determined to claim his honor as a true barbarian, but little did he know that the immortal gods had an entirely different plan for him. Meanwhile, storm clouds are gathering inside the walled city of Ubbin Falls at the edge of the Tundra…

Awakening
This story was previously known as "The Awakening".~*~"One... two... three... one... two... three... a million... is that number right?" A figure less voice echoed."Hello? Who's there?" Caliope asked, focusing on that voice."One... two... who? A million... a billion... no, it's more... a legion..."Silence. She had seen too many horror movies and heard too many stories about that single word to overpass its meaning. The voice went quiet, yet she was still unable to see where it came from. She rubbed her eyes and all she could see around her was a thick path in a jungle-like scene. She didn't remember how she got there, but she knew it was for something important. Her eyes focused on the far end of the path and all she could see were more trees. She turned to the opposite side and found just the same."One... two... billions... but always back at one..." the voice resumed it's counting."Where are you? Who are you?"~*~-Her name is Caliope, and when she was a young girl, she never believed in happy endings. For her, there was nothing more than what you see in front of you.
