《Battlefield Restart (Old Version)》Chapter 18: Poisoned (Deleted Draft)

After quarrelling with my parents for an hour I walked out of the room in defeat, after socialising with some of the youths my own age I realised that the day has already passed and went go back to my room to sleep. My life style in this world is routined and ordered but there is never a dull moment. A smile is etched on my face as I imagine the future, once I become stronger, I'll definitely want to travel the world as well just like my parents did.
I went out of the mansion once before and saw the beautiful RPG-like world with my own eyes. There were people who call themselves Adventures all over the place and Mercenaries that occasionally fought with them due to their difference in thought. Unlike on Earth, Sphera's society was always full of new and interesting events.
An Outsider codenamed 'Salamander' appeared in the west of the Drakeyol Kingdom, which was dispatched by a party of Adventurers called 'Dragon Killer', their heroic exploits are famous nowadays because of the celebrity status they obtained from killing an actual Dragon. Well by Dragon, I mean another which is Outsider codenamed 'Dragon', a Threat Rank A Monster with an enormous reptilian body that looks similar to the description in the myths and legends written on Earth.
It's strange how these creatures that are invading our Sphera have such a resemblance to Earths myths. Hmmm, but there's no way to see where they're coming from, so thinking about their origins would be a waste of time. My grandmothers going to be picking me up tomorrow anyway, so preparing my things would be more productive than pondering on such a deep topic, my eyes scan around my room for my clothes until I realise I was on the floor.
A painful sensation could be felt on my neck but I couldn't couldn't move to investigate my injury. My entire body was paralysed on the ground, unable to move, but my eyes were calm as the ocean. Panicking wouldn't help me one bit, in a situation like this, the most important thing for me to do is try to take care of the foreign substance in the blood streams around my neck.

Should I use healing system water magic? No, my mouth is unable to move, so I can't chant a Detoxification Spell. Whoever had poisoned me previously should have known this would have happened, that must why they didn't set up any other kind of precautions, but rather than thinking about that I should find a solution.
It isn't easy keeping a calm mind under such intense situations like this, but since I cultivated a whole sea of patience from my past life's experience as a soldier, it isn't too hard of a job to do in situations like this. A brother of mine taught me that impatience isn't useful, since it limits ones sight and causes people to miss important bits of information that could save ones life.
My mind works fast, but the poison start to affect my consciousness, fading it, robbing me of any strength to fight my fate. I don't want to die! I don't want to lose everything I've just obtained! I want to live with my new family! I want to live! I force myself with pure willpower to bite my tongue viciously. The pain clears my head for merely a moment, but that amount of time is enough, my eyes sharpen as I instinctively look for a solution.
The world around me distorts as I shuffle through my memory. All the important bits of information about magic replay in front of me, yet I find nothing, not until one abnormal idea becomes a ray of hope. From the experiments I did concerning the use of my Light and Dark Attributes, I gained an understanding of both attributes potential uses. The Dark Attribute was able to control space while the Light Attribute was able to control time.
Whilst the Dark Attribute was easy to understand due to the simplicity of imagining a portal that leads to my own personal shadow dimension, the Light Attributes magic I created was a lot harder to use and manipulate due to the vagueness of what could be called 'Time'. The forces of nature such as inertia could be called part of time itself, they help the world move forward by presenting a cause for every effect, that's how I created my original magic called Corrupting Light.

It's easy to theorise answers, but results are the proof of what's factual and what's fake. I remember, there was a certain time I asked myself how these two types of magics were able to create an entire world filled with living organisms, but gave up after finding that having the ability to slightly control meant nothing to Gods who could change the world with the snap of their fingers, but an idea surfaced in my mind in this time of crisis.
There were many talented people in the world of Sphera tried to fuse different elements to create different effects, but because of their lack of imagination they failed in creating anything useful to humanity, since all they could imagine whilst merging different attributes were things like steam. The people of Sphera weren't scientific and could only imagine what they could actually see. It wasn't impossible to make ores used to make metal with earth magic and combining it with fire magic to create a form of metal magic.
However, the results various powerful figures found was that the expenditure of Mana was too wasteful. Not only that but the only ones who could merge two attributes together were people who had complete harmonisation in at least one of the two. That was why such notions of merging attributes were forgotten and Spells that could make results happen with less Mana became a more mainstream practice on Sphera.
I remember that Enigma had explained that both the Dark God and Light God worked together to create the world called Sphera. For these two existences that were like water and oil to combine their strength to create the world was a little unbelievable at first, but what if the reason they worked together was because they were unable to create the world without the other sides help?
A thought occurred to me, perhaps only a mix of the light attribute and dark attribute can allow them to manipulate the power of creation. What would happen if I tried to 'create' a poison that can fight back against the other poison inside my bloodstream by blending those attributes? It was clearly an optimistic thought that was thrown together in desperation, but even so, it was my only chance.
The thought of creating an antidote never even occurred to me because of my extensive medical knowledge as a paramedic in my nations armed military forces. I can't qualify as an actual doctor, but even I know that using the wrong medicine when fighting to cure an unknown poison is suicide, so the only hope I had for success was to use fire against fire.
To use another poison as a makeshift antidote was naturally completely insane idea, it was stupid to think that the poison wouldn't kill me straight after killing the other in my bloodstream, but I had no option but to internally merge both my attributes of Mana into an original magic that would do just that. I prayed to Enigma in my mind that this magic would work, that the poison I created would gain sentience and be under my control. The name of this new fusion attribute original magic I created, Parasitic Poison, was the last thing I thought before I completely lost consciousness.

Savage Hunters
Giant monsters roam the land Civilization is frozen in a savage age. For the beast slayer Alden, power and survival are one and the same. The ancient evil that once ravaged his village and murdered his ancestors has returned. At the same time, politics hurls Alden and his crew into gladiator pit battles for control of the throne. When Alden takes possession of a cursed sword promising untold power, the hunter is determined to save his people by slaying every giant monster standing between him and the throne. But the angry ghost trapped inside the blade has other ideas. Buckle up for the brutal LitRPG ride of a lifetime Savage Hunters is an alternate-world neolothic fantasy. Characters grow their powers with explicit stat blocks presented right in the text, including levels, attribute scores, and unlockable skill trees. Experience is accumulated by battling enormous monsters the size of buildings. Political intrigue and romance elements ramp up as the series progresses. I originally wrote this story after playing Monster Hunter with my niece. She was 12 at the time, already an avid reader, and wanted to read my other published books. I'm a licensed psychotherapist specializing in severe trauma so I tend toward darker fiction. I told her my usual books are too brutal for her but I'd write her something special. The result was this series, which has been praised by both teens and adults for its depth and universal appeal. It begins with an emphasis on cultural elements because I consulted with a trained anthropologist to craft this neolithic setting down to exacting social detail. After these opening chapters, it rapidly shifts to an action-packed adventure. The first 3 books are fully written as of November 2020, totalling approximately 69 chapters. The first book has been professionally edited already. The following two books require some editing which I'll do on a chapter-by-chapter basis as releases progress. I welcome reviews and comments. Writing is a passion, and reader engagement makes my labor all the sweeter.

The BLOODLANDS
The story follows a young lord in which a middle-aged man reincarnated into the body and gets a second chance at using the knowledge he learns from reading in his past life. No longer bound to the world of his library and university but in a world in which if he failed not only his death but the death of others are in his hands. This concept of the book came about from having two mild heart attacks and the regrets of not being more active in my younger life. Note: The cover of the book is from a painting of Richard the Lionheart at the Battle of Arsuf (1191) during the Third Crusade where he defeated Saladin. Painting by Gustave Doré (19th century).

Dust and Glory
A century after World War III left the planet a nuclear wasteland, earth is nearly unrecognizable. Alien ‘Benefactors’ have taken control of North America’s most populous cities and built indomitable walls around them, defending their inhabitants but trapping them under a totalitarian rule. Outside these citadels, chaos reigns, led by the mutants of the wasteland; cultists, raiders, and canibal clans. Glory, a rogue android, is roaming the wastes after escaping her sadistic “father”. Alone and reeling from the effects of a previously sheltered life, her only ray of hope is Reza City, built upon the ruins of what used to be Phoenix, Arizona. True, the Benefactors have a strict ban on self-aware artificial intelligence in place, but that should only prove an issue if they realize she’s an AI. The real problem is what lurks outside the city: over a million square miles of harsh, unyielding desert. And slinking between the dunes and the fissures are the mutants, looking for an easy victim.
