It is the year 2050 on Earth and after many years of work and the combined effort of all nations the first humans will set off to live in space. The Earth has become almost inhospitable due to natural disasters, global warming, and countless wars.

Lucky in another star system the world Dimidium has been found and it had Earth-like qualities that could hold human life. It's is an unexploited virgin planet that would be able to sustain the parasite like human species. Before they could go to their new world they need to send test launches to the planet. But, Who would do such dangerous work?

As one of the test participants Kade listened nervously as the director talked. He was currently at the International Space Program headquarters. Director Adams detailed the mission.

"The mission will be closely monitored and will be aborted if it puts any of your lives in danger," he said routinely.

Kade looked at the 3 other participants and they all wearily knew the Director was just saying this as a formality.

"The rewards for completing the mission is 10 million dollars and being credited as heroes of mankind for your brave endeavor."

Kade's face beamed ah he thought of the reward. He would finally be able to escape his poverty that troubled him since he was an orphan. His daydreaming of being rich and powerful was interrupted when he was handed a contract. Ignoring the part about ISP not being responsible for his death he gladly signed the contract.

"Great you will depart to Dimidium in 2 hours" Directors Adams stated.

"I thought we were leaving the planet in two months," Kade asked dispiritedly.

"Earth has become increasingly inhospitable, the higher-ups have told us to begin test launches so get ready and go to the launch site."

Director Adams promptly walked away and Kade was left shocked. But, he couldn't back out know as his reward was at stake and more importantly he already signed the contract. The participants went to the launch site and they begin ritually completing the procedures they were thought. They boarded the most advanced rocket ship ever created on Earth the Hope 1, marveling at the beautifully designed ship the participants got ready and strapped up.

"This is ISP, Hope 1 be prepared to take off in 5...4...3...2...1" as the operator's voice faded the rocket ship quickly propelled to space. After sitting for 5 minutes the ships emergency alarm begin to ring. Kade and the others had terrified expressions, as they got up to asses the situation there was a

BOOM!

As the space around them contorted, Kade felt an unimaginable pain as his soul was distorted. He weakly closed his eyes and his consciousness drifted away.
