Kade is awakened by a banging sound on his door. He lazily stands up and his legs feel like noodles. He opens the curtains and then slowly walks to open the door.

"Come with me immediately, adept Marvin is waiting" Vanessa sharply said without a greeting.

Kade ignores her rudeness and walked behind her. She leads him through a series of unfamiliar rooms that somehow led him to adept Marvins study room, where he was furiously writing something on a parchment.

"Ah Kade, come sit" Adept Marvin swiftly said and on cue, Vanessa hurriedly left the room.

"Today I will introduce the Naga bloodline to the water element so it is assimilated into my body easier when I transplant it."

"So you will be teaching me magic?" Kade excitedly asked.

"What is magic, I will be teaching you the theory and some application of the laws of water." Adept Marvin said with a condescending attitude.

'Seems like magic abilities are not called magic in this world. Nonetheless, hopefully, adept Marvin teaches me water abilities to protect myself' Kade nervously thought.

"Now I will teach you about elemental adepts. Elemental laws come from the Adept planes will, as we get stronger the plane also gets stronger forming a symbiotic relationship. There are different basic 4 elemental forms which are Earth, Fire, Air, and Water. Which branch onto sub-elements. I am a water elemental adept and so will you be until the experiment is over. Elemental magic is not the only type of ability in the Adept plane. Make sure to understand that me and currently you are not bloodline adepts. The bloodline will not turn us into ancient creatures of another plane and when I retake the bloodline I won't be shackled by it. I have used a forgotten ancient adept ceremony which uses some aspects of a creature bloodline into our own. It cost me my entire fortune." Adept Marvin said with a sense of grief. " But, back to the point, even if the other adept abilities are powerful I believe they are insignificant in face of the elements! But, your still an ant nevertheless in front of those adepts or any for that matter." Adept Marvin said as he wickedly laughed.

Kade felt a fire lit inside his body. 'One day… one day I'll show you who the ant is.'

Adept Marvin contemplated then said, "Sit down on the ground."

Fearing he read his mind Kade quickly got up and sat down sweating profusely like a raging storm. As he was about to beg for mercy Adept Marvin snapped at him.

"What are you doing? I told you to go into a meditation position."

Kade exhaled in relief and did as he was told.

"Try to feel the water element around you. Absorbing the water element will increase your spirit."

Kade tried to feel this 'water element.' He sat down but he was starting to get angry after 20 minutes of inaction.

"Adept Marvin I don't feel anything. I'm trying as hard as I can but it seems the water element is not around me." Kade desperately explained.

"Fool, all the elements are around us but some are more drawn in than others. Since you have the Naga bloodline the water element should be easily drawn to you compared to others. Calm down, anger is not the nature of water it is of fire. Close your eyes and sink into the waves..."

Kade closed his eyes and imagined himself sinking into the boundless ocean.

"... And become one with water!"

As adept Marvin finished his sentence Kade fell into a semiconscious state. He saw an endless expanse of blue dots flooding into his body. 'Host spirit is rapidly increasing' said his soul chip. Encouraged Kade madly absorbed the blue dots into his body. His drunken state lasted for close to two hours until adept Marvin awakened him with a splash of stinging water in his face.

"Limit absorbing the elements for only two hours a day, after all, we are not elemental creatures. And more importantly, I will not risk Naga bloodline being harmed."

Kade got up and thought 'Soul chip display my information.'

"Adept Marvin if you don't mind me asking what are other ways I could increase my spirit." Kade inquisitively asked.

"Other than meditating you could take spirit potions, undergo rituals, and other obscure means. The apprentice stage is the fastest stage that the spirit will increase. Official adepts barely feel an increase in their spirit, I've been at rank 1 for 60 years already."

Pushing his luck Kade also asked him " Last question adept Marvin, how do I compare to Vanessa." He has wondered this question since that arrogant witch walked him to his room yesterday. After all, she's the one responsible for her colleagues and the past Kades death. But he couldn't look at her information using the soul chip, as it wasn't designed to look at other people's information because that was a violation of earth's privacy laws.

"Since I have given you the Naga bloodline you have risen to the level of an advanced adept like Vanessa. What has taken her 16 years has taken you only a day. But you are not a match for her as you don't know any applications of water while she is a runaway apprentice who has control over darkness."

Kade was shocked it seems like Vanessa was more powerful than he originally thought. It would seem in order to defeat her he would have to learn how to control the water element and properly become an elemental adept.

"Enough questions" Adept Marvin jeered. "Follow me to the library"

Kade swiftly followed behind adept Marvin as he went behind his desk. He put his hand on a symbol on the wall and the inscription glowed. Kade gasped in astonishment as the wall split into to allowing them to enter.

As Kade walked in the scent of mahogany flooded in his nose. The library was littered with books and scrolls that seemed to have a life of their own.

"Kade come here."Adept Marvin ordered, " You can freely choose water element theory books but you are not allowed to choose water element modules! This bloodline is not yours it will be returned to me soon. So you only need to learn water element theory." Adept Marvin strictly said.

'It seems as though adept Marvin doesn't want me to even have a chance of being powerful. But unluckily for him, I will not submit to him!' Kade thought to himself.

"Choose from this." Adept Marvin pointed at the smallest shelf in his personal library. "And only the top row, The rest are off the shelf and the library is off limits."

Kade slowly walked to the shelf under adept Marvin scrutinizing gaze. 'Soul chip can you scan these books.' 'Yes, but you must flip through them' As Kade reached forward he choose the first book at the restricted area and quickly flipped through it. " Water Manipulation-Can learn to create shape and manipulate water as one wishes. Advancers manipulators can create anything they desire and as long as they want as long as they have enough spirit. " Kade immediately smiled. This is exactly what he was looking for, a module that can actually teach him not a theory book." As he flipped through the pages he told the Soul chip to scan it. "Scan complete, module stored".

As soon as the Soul chips voice faded in his mind adept Marvin yelled "What are you doing! I told you water element theory books only not modules." He waved his hands, then a water hand similar to his own rushed forward snatched the book away and put it back into its position. Then it rapidly turned and started choking Kade.

Kade collapsed to the floor and felt his throat give in. "I'm sorry I thought you said the whole shelf!" He said as he gasped for air. "And I didn't even read it please forgive me."

Adept Marvins face twitches in annoyance and then he turns his head. The water hand collapses and Kade quickly gasps for air.

"You're lucky you are my only experimental subject or I would… get out I will tell Vanessa to send you the water theory books." Adept Marvin Moves toward the secret door and it magically opens and Kade swiftly walked into the study room then out the door.

Kade came out with an arching smirk. Ignoring the water shaped bruises on his neck that nearly killed him he thinks 'Ha you'll never suppress me without a fight, the module is mine.' He walks back to his room after faintly remembering the direction and then sits on his chair.

'Soul chip, analyze the water manipulation module for me and let me see the contents.' Kade orders. 'Yes, I will begin at once. Progress is .5% two days expected to complete.'

As he waits for the analyzation to complete Kade reads the book for some time until Vanessa comes by to drop off the water theory books. He ignores her antagonizing stare and takes the books. Before he knows it two days have passed.

'Water manipulation module analyzation complete' the soul chip repeats again. A wave of information flooded his brain, 'Finally' Kade thought as he got up from his bed. For the past two days, he has been meditating and reading all the water theory books adept Marvin authorized him to have and contemplated his module. He understood 60% of it but since the soul chip analyzation is finished his comprehension has been mostly completed.

'The module says to start meditating as that is the easiest way to gather the water element.' Kade contemplated, he sat down and started meditating and soon the familiar wave of water element dots swarmed him. 'Then think of water and forme it'. Kade repeated he sat for an hour visualizing water and finally a drop of water formed at the tips of his hands. As he excitedly yelled it collapsed as quickly as it came. 'Ok adept Marvin said the water element is about calmness I can't let my emotions get to me.' Kade sat again and tired to form water, soon enough a familiar drop of water formed at his fingertips.

1 month later.

Kade is standing in the middle of his room. He puts his hand together and raises them. A ball of water the size of a watermelon forms and he begins to wildly manipulate it. The water separates into individual drops then forms into the length of a snake as he wildly moves it around his body. Exhausted he stops, although he is not at the epitome of water manipulation the module says his level of control isn't reached after at least a year of consistent work. And for prodigies a few months. He speculates it's his Naga bloodline that is making him reach this level of manipulation so quickly.

As Kade hears a knock on the door he quickly releases the water and calmly walks to open the door.

"Kade adept Marvin wants to see us." Vanessa annoyingly said.

'Hopefully, adept Marvin doesn't know what I'm doing, If he does it's the end for me!' Kade anxiously thought as sweat started dripping from his face. He goes back to his room, puts his cloak on and then shuts the door as he stands behind Vanessa.
