Everything seems to be like normal at Alvaro's school, he is being quiet during math class, he doesn't seem to pay attention to what the teacher is saying but rather he seems to be lost in his own thoughts. Alvaro is thinking about skipping the next class and go to the local gambling club to play. As soon as the class is over he picks up his bag and exits the classroom. At the corridor, he meets one of his fellow classmates, a cute girl with black hair and pale skin, she has deep green eyes and wears glasses. She approaches Alvaro but he seems less than eager to talk to her.

"Alvaro! You are going to gamble again, aren't you? Aren't you?"

She says while chasing after Alvaro who at this point has started running to avoid a confrontation with her. She is the class representative, Emi Rowel. A girl with perfect looks and brains as shown by her great grades who are at par with Alvaro's. Despite the fact that she has worked hard as oppose to Alvaro to achieve such grades though. She has had feelings for Alvaro for him being the only boy she has ever seen as equal to her. She has a strong personality that often discourages other boys from making a move on her and she makes sure to shut them down when one thinks he can persuade her into hooking up. Alvaro is the only boy in the class to not make a move on her and he has shown her little to no interest as far. That is what picked Emi's interest for Alvaro who keeps running away to avoid her scolding him for gambling. Emi didn't like that Alvaro was gambling as she thought that was a waste of his cleverness.

As Alvaro is running away from a furious Emi, people at the corridor have started whispering to one another. Some boys seem jealous that Emi, a school idol is running behind Alvaro. Other girls seem charmed by him and gossip to one another about how well built his body is or the cute characteristics of his face. Alvaro was a handsome young man with dark hair and blue eyes, he has excelled at everything up until now in his life, be it P.E or theoretical subjects, Alvaro has dwarfed every other person at school and that has earned him the hearts of many female students and the hate of the males.

After a lot of running away, Alvaro has managed to escape Emi's sight and managed to exit the school grounds, he has now relaxed and began walking slowly towards the club where he can gamble. His parents were away from home on business trips too often and they have missed Alvaro's habit of gambling. He has been on his own for a couple of years now, taking care of the house. Since he won a lot of times using his wits and cunning, he has managed to multiply the money that his parents have sent him as allowance.

He has walked for a bit now and his expression hasn't changed at all, he is thinking about some trivial things during the trip to the club, he is thinking about Emi,

"Maybe I can give her some attention later, she is quite cute. I wouldn't mind dating her."

He didn't know if he liked or disliked her at all, he simply hadn't thought about it too much. He knew that Emi liked him but he never made an effort to get closer to her. He didn't like what she was on about though, he was quite mad at her for yelling at him all the time about the gambling,

"What is her problem anyway?"

He thought as he scratched the back of his head, as much as he liked to boast about his intellect he seems to be oblivious to the fact that Emi doesn't want him to gamble. He enjoyed gambling too much to see her point of view.

As he was walking by, Alvaro noticed something shiny at the ground, right next to a street lamp, he walked close and picked it up, it was a coin, a yellow coin that appeared to be made from solid gold, he had never seen that kind of coin before and he didn't recognize it. It didn't seem to be from his country nor from any other country,

"That's odd, is this some kind of ancient gold coin? What is it doing here, maybe I will keep it as a good luck charm."

Despite him being a person who put his trust into statistics to win every time, Alvaro had a strange view of luck, he never understood luck, he wanted to know everything about luck, is there any way to manipulate it? What is a person's luck anyway? Is it karma? Good things happen to good people? What is the mechanics behind luck? These questions has troubled Alvaro for a long time, he has spent a lot of time studying about religions and other supernatural things to find more about luck, if at some point has anyone managed to manipulate it, bend it to his own will. He has studied figures like "Lady Luck". A term he has heard once where luck is depicted as some sort of goddess with the power to give people good things. Some times she is by your side and some times she isn't. Alvaro loved and hated luck at the same time, he couldn't just comprehend the fact that luck doesn't really exist, he was sure that somewhere, out there was a way to manipulate it.

Alvaro took the coin and placed in his pocket, his vision started to get blurry, fuzzy, he blinked rapidly and he noticed that something has changed, something was odd, he wasn't standing on the street any longer, he took a look around him and saw a different environment to the one he was used to. The road was no longer covered with asphalt but instead it was dirt, there were wooden stands around him with people yelling, he found out what happened instantly.

"Hm, have I been transported to a parallel world? What are the chances for that to happen? Who is responsible for this? Think...What did I do that was out of the ordinary? The only thing that comes to mind is this coin."

He thought as he took the coin out of his pocket, immediately he was approached by a strange-looking guy, a man un what seemed like his middle 30s with long brown hair and short beard, he seemed to be dressed in a linen robe and he had multiple pouches attached to a rope that also acted like a belt, he came close to Alvaro and spoke to him,

"Hello, Sir. I see you have a gold coin in your hands, I see you came prepared to spend a lot in our hamble market. May I talk to you about a very good opportunity?"

Alvaro was interested to interact a bit with this man, he wanted to find out more about his current situation.

"You have 2 minutes, old man."

Alvaro's arrogance shocked the man for a second, at first he saw a clueless young guy standing in the middle of the road, now he is talking with an arrogant man who seems to be on to something. He didn't waste any time though to explain himself.

"My name is Ailpein, I am a traveling merchant, I have many magical artifacts that may interest you."

That gave Alvaro a lot of information, he now knows that magic exists in this world like he had imagined, he was well informed about other world stuff from fiction in his own world, he figured that there must be some sort of magic and other stuff going around, adventures to have and a whole new world to toy with. Ailpein seemed a bit shady at first but Alvaro followed him around a corner, a bit deep in a small corridor formed by two large buildings provided a lot of cover for shady business and Alvaro thought that this man might really have something of interest. He was fully aware of the situation but he still took his chance. As soon as Ailpein made sure that no one was around, he pulled a knife out and pointed it at Alvaro who didn't seem to phase at all.

"Hand over your money if you value your life, young man."

Alvaro sighed at him, this time he seemed to have gotten into some sort of shake down. He didn't even flinch at the sight of the knife, he simply looked at the man who at this point was found to be a small-time crook and talked to him with a deep voice.

"Listen here, you filthy robber. If you don't make yourself scarce right now, I am going to smash your skull open with my bare hand."

Alvaro took a chance by intimidating the robber, it seemed to work for a bit as he was now shaking, that momentary hesitation and fear has given Alvaro exactly what he needed, just enough time to punch him in the stomach and take the knife from his hand and threw it at the ground, he then punched him at his jaw leaving him unconscious.

Alvaro dropped the man to the ground and saw something interesting appear in front of his eyes. In big bright letters there was text in front of him, "LEVEL UP". That's what it said, apparently, there is a leveling system in this new world. Then there was another thing that appeared in front of Alvaro, he was now presented with a stat board showing his health, mana, and status. It seemed to show his status as normal indicating that he wasn't under some sort of effect and his health and man were both at 120 points, something that didn't make any sense considering that he doesn't know if this number is high or not. He also took a look at his attributes, he also noticed the text explaining each attribute,

With that popping in front of Alvaro, he knew, he instantly knew what happened, knocking down that man has leveled him up and has given him points to put into his attributes, without any hesitation, Alvaro put all of his points into Luck, he decided instantly what to do with his points and did it without hesitation. He smirked as he now found a new thing to play with, a new game to enjoy and that game was an entirely new world. He smirked menacingly and also laughed out loud at this idea and now he can fully enjoy the ultimate gambling game of survival.

"Hm, what now? Do I have to become a shy harem owner? Or maybe find out about my unique power of absorbing Demon-Dragon's souls and save the world from the Devil King as the chosen one is meant to do?"
