《Somebody To Love (#4)》CHAPTER 3: I Am What?!

My head seemed to explode any moment as I woke up.
How much did I even drink last night?
I looked around the room in confusion and then down at myself realising, I was naked under the sheets covering my body.
The fuck!
I grabbed my head in between my hands trying to remember everything that happened last night and after trying to concentrate for almost five minutes, I got some flashbacks.
Me bumping into Gareth at the club.
Him buying me drinks.
Me flirting with him.
Him dropping me home.
Me kissing him.
And...him on top of me on my bed.
Fucking great!
What did I do?!
His clothes were not there on the floor so he clearly left before I woke up and my eyes fell on the nightstand where on a small plate was a tablet that I eat to cure the hangovers. Beside it on the plate was a glass of water covered by a small circular disk like thing. And a paper on top of it.
I picked up the paper and read it.
Hope you enjoyed last night. Have a nice day, Harper.
;)
-Gareth
Who the hell leaves such a note?
Anyway, I swallowed the tablet with the water and went inside the washroom to get ready still not being able to believe I slept with Gareth. Gareth Wilbrose.

.

I felt weird meeting Aeryn this morning as if I committed a crime by sleeping with her brother-in-law but the thing is, it was not wrong at all.
I mean I can sleep with anyone I want and I know Aeryn doesn't give a damn about it but still, I felt awkward.
Especially when she just talks about him sometime as to how sweet and hilarious or annoying he is.
I didn't tell her about Dave. I didn't want to tell anyone yet. So, I tried to hide my empty ring finger from her all day.
It was evening when she said. "So, what did Dave want to talk about?"
"Umm..." I thought of a lie. "He didn't want to talk actually--"
"It turned out to a date?"
"Y-yes." I fakely chuckled. "Yes. It turned out to be a date. He...wanted to...umm... surprise me actually."
She smiled. "That's so sweet of him."
I gave her a fake smile. "Yes. Of course."
I picked up the water bottle to drink some water when Aeryn pointed towards my hand and said. "Where's your ring?"

I quickly put the bottle down and placed my left hand behind my back. "It's at home." I lied again.
Her brows furrowed. "But you never remove it."
I thought hard and said. "I remove it whenever I take a shower so, I removed it this morning and forgot to wear it."
"Oh", she said softly and continued frying the chicken.
And I sighed in relief.
She is going to kill me when she finds out I lied to her.
Aargh!
.
.
.
Having said goodbye to Aeryn, I walked out of the restaurant but stopped in my tracks on seeing Isaiah leaning against his car in front of the restaurant.
I pressed my lips into a thin line.
Can't he leave me alone?
I stepped towards him. "What the fuck do you want now?"
He stopped leaning and stood straight. "I think I made it very clear what I want."
I scoffed. "I think I made it clear too that you aren't getting that."
He ran his fingers through his hair. "Harper, please."
Rolling my eyes I ignored him and started walking away.
"Come on, it was a mistake", he called out to me. "I was not mature."
I stopped and turning walked back to him.
As I stopped in front of him, I folded my arms. "Even if I forgive you, even then you are not getting me."
"Why?" He asked desperately.
"Are you deaf? I clearly told you yesterday, I am engaged! And I don't want you either!"
His eyes went down on my hand and he slightly smirked. "I don't see an engagement ring."
The fucking ring!
"T-that's because..." I took a deep breath. "We don't wanna make our engagement public yet."
He raised a brow amusingly. "Whom are you engaged to? The President? Or a billionaire?"
I gritted my teeth fighting an urge to strangle him. "Who ever I am engaged to is none of your concern, Isaiah."
He smirked. "You are lying."
"Please, Isaiah. I am begging you, leave me alone. You are not going to get me. Get this inside your fucking brain."
"At least, I can try to win you."
"You will waste your time."
He winked making me feel disgusted. "It will be worth it."
I gave him a tight smile. "Good luck for your efforts."
I once again walked away but when I felt as if he was following me, I held my hand up. "Dare you follow me." I said without looking back.

I heard his low chuckle. "Of course, Harper."
.
.
.
I feel so exhausted.
Why?
Because I just woke up.
Even yesterday I was feeling so tired. I have no idea what's wrong with me.
My stomach, head, muscles, everything just aches.
I manage to drag myself to the bathroom and have a hot shower to soothe my aching muscles.
As I dried my hair while standing in front of the mirror, I realised how horrible I am looking.
My face looked so pale. My eyes seemed to be a bit red. If someone sees me, he/she will think I haven't slept and eaten properly for days.
I guess this whole engagement breaking thing and showing up of Isaiah had a really bad effect on me.
Shaking my head I put away all those thoughts and got ready to go to the restaurant.
.
.
.
When I entered the kitchen Aeryn's eyes widened in shock on seeing me and her mouth fell open.
"Wow, you look..." She searched for a word to describe me as she took in my appearance. "Crap."
"Thanks", I muttered keeping my handbag over the counter.
"Did Isaiah showed up again or what?"
"He did show up again here a week back but fortunately he found something better to pass his time with." I explained to her all the things he said to me.
"Next time, just tell me and I'll deal with him."
"Sure", I said sarcastically.
Then she looked at me worriedly. "But...what's wrong with you? You look sick."
I shrugged. "I also have no idea."
"Are you on your periods?"
"No...actually, it's late this time. I don't know why."
"Your periods are quite regular, then what happened? Are you stressed?"
"No, Aeryn. I am absolutely fine." I lied.
She placed her palm over my forehead and hummed. "I think you have a fever. It's not high though."
"Oh."
"I suggest you should take the day off."
I shook my head. "I will be fine. I can still work."
She placed her hands on her waist. "Who's the boss here?"
I rolled my eyes. "You."
"So, Ms Collins, your boss orders you to get your ass outta here and go to a doctor or she will do it herself." She glared at me.
"Doctor? Seriously?", I said in exasperation. "It's just a fever, Aeryn."
"Yes! You just have a mild fever but you look as if you were hit by a truck. That's why you need to get a proper check-up."
She acts like a mother sometimes. And I find that really heartwarming.
She handed me my handbag and pushed me out of the kitchen and locked the door.
Come on! It's just a fever.
I banged on the door. "I swear, Aeryn I will go to the doctor first thing tomorrow morning. Just let me work today."
The door opened and she stood there with folded arms and a stern expression on her face. "You promise?"
I nodded quickly. "Yes. I promise."
She sighed and finally allowed me to get inside.
.
.
.
The lady doctor took my blood sample plus my urine sample after I told her my period was late.
But it wasn't necessary. I mean I don't think so I am...pregnant.
It's not possible. I remember Gareth used protection.
Or did he not?
No. He did.
Or he didn't.
He did.
He didn't.
He did.
He didn't.
He did--
My thoughts were interrupted as the doctor came back with the results with a huge smile on her face.
The fuck she is happy for?
She sat down behind her desk and the smile on her face started to worry me.
"Umm...is everything okay?" I asked nervously.
She chuckled. "Everything's absolutely fine."
"I don't understand."
"It's obvious, Ms Collins. You are pregnant." She announced.
I am--
"What?!"
He smile faded a bit on my reaction. "You are pregnant. A week pregnant."
I let out a humourless chuckle. "You are kidding, right?"
She shook her head. "No, Ms Collins. You are clearly pregnant. The reports says this."
"I...I don't believe this. It's not possible!"
She was shocked. "It's true. I am not lying. Do you need an ultrasound report to confirm it?"
"Yes." I said promptly.
"Okay."
.
.
.
"Look, that's your baby." She pointed to the pea sized thing inside my abdomen.
I took in deep breaths to calm myself.
I am pregnant.
That fucking Gareth Wilbrose got me pregnant.
Thanking the doctor, I collected the reports and walked out of the hospital.
For a few minutes, I aimlessly walked down the street feeling numb.
I looked down at my belly. I can't believe I am pregnant.
A cab was standing at the other side of the street and I hailed it.
"Where to, ma'am?" The driver asked.
I was looking out of the window when I said, "Wilbrose Enterprises."
