Scarlett's POV:

As I walked behind mistress I thought about William and his family. They had been so kind and sweet to me, they never once hit me or beat me. They have me a name. I wish I could have told them goodbye and that I appreciate what they did for me in those three days more than they could even imagine.

The trail seemed to get narrower as we deepened into the forest. I felt like eyes were pushing against my skin, watching me. I dismissed it though, once mistress spoke.

"Come here slave I want to talk to you." Said mistress Jezebel. I hurriedly walked to her side.

"Yes mistress?" I said bowing my head.

"Did you ever believe that you were safe at there home?" She said. Her face was stone, holding no emotions.

"I would never lie to you mistress. Yes I did feel safe there." I said softly.

"Hmm." She hummed gently. I stayed quiet until she replied. "did you want to stay there slave?"

"Yes mistress. I wanted to stay there." I said anticipating the punishment that would accompany the answer.

"Really?" She sounded sad. I had never heard mistress sound sad.

"Yes mistress." I said softly. She stopped walking along the path. She turned and looked at me. Her face had a tear running down it. I dropped my head.

"Then why did you come with me slave?" She said sobbing.

"Because mistress. You wanted me too." I said. Why was mistress so sad?

"Your such a good little slave. I've trained you so well." Her voice wasn't sad anymore.

"Yes mistress." I said.

"I will do you a favor my sweet little slave." She said grasping my shoulders. "I will give you two days to say goodbye to your other masters and mistresses. Then on the night of the second day I will come to retrieve you. Understood?"she said in an angry voice. I knew this was a trick. I knew once I said yes that she would break me again. The offer was so worth while though. I would be able to tell William everything about me. I would be able to share about me and my past. She would never allow it though. Never. The offer was just to break me.

"No mistress. I wish to stay with you."I said crying to myself. I knew I could never see them again. I knew that.

"Oh good. I thought I would have to punish you!" She chuckled evilly and tugged unmercifully on my leash.

"Yes mistress." I said. I wish I could see Williams eyes one more time.

She tugged again on my leash, signaling to me to trail closer. I moved faster to her side, she chuckled evilly and tripped me. I felt the rocks cut my knee caps and hands as I hit the ground.

"You will crawl my little slave." She chuckled and tugged on my leash again.

"Yes mistress. Anything for you." I said softly. I watched the ground avoiding rocks and twigs. I felt the eyes again pushing against me again.

"Did you really think taking her would be that easy Jezebel?" Williams voice rang through the trees.
