《Chasing the New Girl - (Complete)》Chapter 42

That's when she saw Austin walking out onto the field and he looked completely fine. He waved up at the stands to thank everyone for cheering before he put his helmet back on and went to join the huddle.
Jolie felt a wave of relief wash over her and she smiled.
Austin walked out onto the field feeling much better. That hit had just knocked the wind out of him and after the Physical trainer checked him over he said that he didn't have any injuries. He also didn't have a concussion so he was cleared to go back in.
"I feel fine now. I swear. I've gotta shake it off and get back in," Austin said.
When he got back onto the field the crowd screamed so loud that it made his adrenaline rush and he was ready to get back out there and get revenge on these jerks. He was gonna make them pay for what they just did. He walked up to the huddle and his team mates cheered and patted him on the back, so glad to see that he was ok. Even Chaz looked relieved that he was back in.
"Guys you've gotta watch my back. They've got a bullseye on me because they want to stop me but we're not gonna let them are we?" he shouted.
"NO!" the team yelled back at him.
"Now let's go out there and show them that they just messed with the wrong team. They don't know who we are! Let's go!!!" he shouted and all the players shouted too and hit the top of each other's helmets to pump them up.
Austin ran out onto the field and got into position. He called out the play and then the ball snapped. He stepped back and noticed that Chaz was wide open far down the field. It was gonna be a long shot but he reared his arm back and threw it all the way downfield and Chaz ran and jumped up to catch it. The crowd stood up and screamed and stomped their feet on the bleachers as Chaz ran it all the way to the end zone and scored another touch down. The crowd erupted with cheers and there was even a loud cowbell being rang!
They made several great plays after that extending their lead and before long the time had run out and the game was over. They had won by a landslide. Austin walked over to the fence and spotted Jolie up in the stands. He waved at her to get her to come down onto the field with him. She made her way down the metal bleachers and through the gate and stood in front of him.

"You were amazing," she said smiling up at him. "Are you ok? That hit you took scared me really bad."
"Yeah I'm fine Jolie. I'll probably just be a little sore tomorrow," he said, taking his helmet off.
Jolie took it out of his hands and said, "I bet I could play football. It doesn't look that tough," and she pulled the helmet down onto her head.
Austin laughed, "You look really cute in my helmet but it's way too big for you." He pulled her close and leaned down and gave her a kiss through the face mask.
"I love you Jolie," he whispered.
"I love you too Austin," she repeated back. He loved to hear her say that so much.
He couldn't believe that this amazing woman had moved all the way here from New York and he was lucky enough to have her as his next-door neighbor. She was so perfect for him in every way. She was so smart, and sweet and funny and beautiful. He knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
Jolie kissed Austin through the helmet and said, "I love you too Austin." She stood there and looked into his blue eyes as he studied her face and she thought about how amazing he was in the game she just watched and how talented. She was so proud of him. After a couple minutes she took the helmet off and handed it to him so he could run back to the locker room and shower and change.
She walked over to Blaze and Bailey and Bailey smiled at her and said, "I got a picture of that moment. That was one of the cutest things I've ever seen," she turned her phone around and showed her the picture of her wearing his helmet and giving him a kiss.
Jolie smiled, "Awww. That is cute. Will you send me that?"
"Yep, just did," Bailey nodded.
"Are you guys going to the Diner to eat after the game?" Jolie asked
Bailey looked at Blaze and said, "I've never gone to the diner after a game but I've always heard stories about it. Do you want to?"
Blaze thought for a second and said "Yeah. Sure."
"Ok great! I'm going to wait here for Austin but if you guys want to go ahead and save us a table, we'll meet you there," Jolie said before giving Bailey and hug.

Jolie leaned against the fence like she had done at the last game and looked out onto the field while she waited for Austin. A little while later a tall figure crept up and stood very close behind her, so close that she could feel his lower body pressing up against hers and he slid his hands under her shirt and around her waist.
"Austin?" She asked, turning around and she was pleasantly surprised to see that this time it really was him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and looked into his eyes.
"Are you disappointed it wasn't Chaz?" he asked with a smile.
She laughed. "Definitely not," she told him, pressing her lips to his and then biting his bottom lip playfully.
"I love it when you do that," he whispered in his deep, sexy voice, pulling her body close and covering her mouth with his, his tongue parting her lips and massaging against hers, sending shivers down her spine and making her body feel tingly all over.
He looked into her eyes and said, "Let's go home."
She scrunched up her nose. "Sorry. I sort of made plans for us to meet Blaze and Bailey at the diner. They're saving a table for us."
He exhaled and dropped his head.
Then he lifted it up and said, "Actually that doesn't sound like a bad idea. I'm starving right now. I was so focused on getting ready for the game I didn't eat a snack beforehand like I usually do," he said grabbing her hand and putting his fingers through hers as they walked towards his Jeep.
"Ugh," he groaned rubbing his shoulder and rotating his arm. "I'm going to have to ice that when I get home."
Jolie and Austin walked into the diner and found Blaze and Bailey at a booth in the far corner cuddled close together. Bailey was laughing loudly about a story Blaze was telling and when she saw them she yelled out "Hey guys! Come sit! We haven't ordered yet because we wanted to wait on you."
Jolie slid into the booth first and Austin slid in close beside her.
Bailey looked around and said, "I've never been here after a game. This is really nice. Man if you would've told me at the beginning of the year that I would be hanging out at Roller Gals Diner after a football game with Blaze McDaniels, Austin Fox and Jolie Watson I would've thought you'd lost your mind. I'm really glad it happened though," she smiled.
"Me too," Jolie said. "I'm really glad I got to know you."
"Hey did you guys talk about where you want to go out to eat tomorrow before Homecoming?" Bailey asked.
Jolie shook her head. "No we haven't had a chance to. We can eat wherever you guys want to. I'm fine with whatever."
Finally a waitress came around and took their order. Jolie got a grilled chicken salad with vinaigrette dressing and a plate of fresh fruit with a water. Austin said, "I'll have the same but with double chicken and add two hard boiled eggs to it."
Blaze rolled his eyes at them and said, "I'll have a double cheeseburger with extra bacon and a side of large fries and an extra large coke."
Bailey ordered a chicken club sandwich with a side salad and a large Mountain Dew.
When the waitress walked off Blaze said, "You two are disgustingly perfect with your healthy food and working out and stuff." He turned to Bailey and asked, "Do you work out and eat healthy?"
She laughed loudly and said, "No. I don't even think I've ever set foot in a real gym. I'm more of the 'sit at home curled up with a good book or Netflix and binge on chocolate and popcorn' kind of girl."
"I knew I loved you for a reason," Blaze said and as soon as the words left his mouth his eyes bulged out and he sat frozen. Bailey coughed on the drink she had just taken a sip of.
She looked over at him and said, "Did you just say that you love me?"
Blaze's face flushed red and he squirmed in his seat adjusting his shirt and black leather jacket.
Bailey narrowed her eyes at him when he didn't answer. "Blaze McDaniels. You better tell me right now what you said!"
