Chapter EIGHTEEN.

The rest of the night consisted of me staring at my hands trying to get them to do the weird glowy thing that it did back in the park against Pennywise. After hours of turning and raising my hands into the air, shouting random words in hope that it would spark them back up, I retreated back into my room. I made sure to check all of my doors and windows, making sure they were all locked. I'd be damned if Pennywise came back to finish the job he started earlier. If that happened, I prayed to god that my hands would shine once again and save me from being eaten alive.

Fast forward two weeks after that night. I carried on with my boring life of work. Pennywise was no where to be seen, but strangely I had this feeling that he was still around just keeping his distance. Good. But the thing that sucked about the entire situation was that I lost the chance at romance with someone who I thought was real and genuine. Hah, jokes on me. Bill, the perfect guy with the gorgeous eyes and drop-dead bod was fake and actually a monster from outer-space. Ugh.

But all didn't seem lost when another stranger crossed my path. He was new in Derry, just moved from overseas. He had [E/C] eyes and [H/C] hair. He was nice looking and sweet, helping me pick up papers for work when I managed to drop them all over the footpath outside the local cafe. I offered him a coffee for helping me, which he happily obliged to. We chatted about work, family, life, places we've lived and visited. He was so easy to talk to and very polite. I didn't dare say it again, but he was... perfect. Ah shit. I hope this isn't a repeat of what went down with Bill/Pennywise.

It had been a few days after meeting this new guy that I ran into him again. At the same cafe. "Hello again," he greeted with a smile.

"Hey..." I waved and laughed nervously.

"Would you like to join me for a drink? I'm just sitting at the table over by the window." I glanced over to the window table to see his bag and empty cup on the flat surface.

"Ah, sure." The words just came out before I could even think and process the question.

His smile grew bigger. "Great!"

Fingers crossed he's not another alien, monster thing.
