"Who are you day dreaming about?" Evelyne teased me

"Must be Alexander." Diana joined her.

I groaned and threw my head back in the seat. We were currently returning back to the castle after an entire day of being out for our girls day. We went shopping, got food, got our nails done and went to the park for some time. "You guys will never stop, will you?" I asked as Evelyne drove the car past the gates of the castle

"Nope" Both of them said together.

"It feels too good to tease someone." Diana added.

"Yeah." Evelyne parked the car and all three of us got out with bags in each of our hands. We went our separate ways as it was nearly time for dinner. These past days, everything has been perfect. Well, at least most of it. Things between Alexander and I has been way better than I had expected.

It has been a complete week since I spent the night with him and just like he said, we trained together the next day and keep training together till today. He teaches me new fighting techniques that I did not know and even help me train my wolf. I shifted the other in front of him and Cresent could not be happier to finally meet her mate. She was way more playful than her usual self around him. Many times we brawled with each other, without using any magic or our special abilities. Sometimes I won while other times he won.

I have been spending the nights in his room ever since. He has been the perfect mate anyone could ask for. He respects me, keeps me happy, supports me, helps me, does not judge me and even gives me his clothes. Chuckling to myself at the last part, I went in my room and took a quick shower. After getting ready, I got out of my room and made my way to the dining hall but in the middle of the hallway, I was pulled into a room and I felt someone crash their lips on me.

It did not take long for me to realise who it was as I felt the familiar sparks in my body. I kissed Alexander back with equal passion as him. I ran my hands through his soft locks, earning a growl from his throat as he deepened the kiss. After making out for a sometime, he pulled away.

"What was that for?"

"I missed you" He said as he placed his forehead on mine and I could not help the grin that spread on my face. "I missed you too."

Just as I said it, my stomach grumbled and I felt the blood rushing to my cheeks. Alexander chuckled. "Looks like you also missed your food. Let's go eat."

I smiled sheepishly at him and got out of the room first, followed by him a few steps back. We took our place with us opposite each other on the table and ate. The silence was interrupted by King Tarsal's voice. "We have got information that the groups of vampires were seen at different places. Even if they are moving separately, they seem to have a common destination which we are not aware of right now."

"Maybe once they will meet, they will attack us" King Elijah spoke.

"They think being in small groups, would help them go unnoticed and in that way, they could easily carry on with their plan." King Tarsal added.

"Do we know anything about the other creatures with them?" Alexander said.

"We are not sure but we may think that they have the rogue dragons with them." King Elijah added. "Our warriors went to the rogue dragons camp the other day only to find most dragons absent from there. My guess would be they got the rogues on their side."

"There could be a chance that the rogue wolves are also with them. Since they do not support the werewolves rules, they could see this as an opportunity to live the way they want." Alpha Axel commented.

"That could be true."

"Well, we don't know when the war is. It could be near or it could be far, but for now, we need to train and be ready." King Tarsal said.

*Next day.*

I woke up to an empty bed and immediately scowled. I sat up and rubbed my eyes before stretching myself. My eyes fell on the note that was on the nightstand. I took it and it was from Alexander

Good morning little wolf. I had to go early to take care of some work but we are going out at 10. So be ready and I have kept a dress for you in my closet. By the way there will be no training today.

I found myself smiling as I got up and went to the closet. Taking the bag of clothes, I went to my room and started getting ready since it was already 8 30 when I woke up. I took a shower and did my morning routine. I wore the dress he gave me. It was a beautiful dress with floral designs on it and a slit on the side. The neck design and the sleeves were both very pretty. I wore my hoop earrings and did my hair in a low ponytail. As for my makeup I added mascara and some transparent lip gloss on.

Exactly at 10, I heard my phone ring. I smile as I picked up the phone. "Diana will lead you to where I am. She is waiting for you at the back exit" He said form the other side of the phone. After saying ok, I hung up and slipped on my sandals and took my bag with me. I got out and walked towards the back exit of the castle, ignoring the stare I got from Ivory and Rayna on the way.

"Someone is looking beautiful." Diana said as soon as she saw me. I smiled and pulled her in a small hug before making our way outside. We walked past the guards at the back gate and walked a bit further down where I saw a sleek black car and a sexy looking Alexander leaning against it. "Have a nice day." Diana said before taking her leave.

I smiled and walk towards Alexander. Instead of his usual suit, he was wearing cargo pants, shirt and jacket on him. "Hey." I said as I came closer to him.

"You look stunning." He complimented me.

"You don't look bad either" I eyed him up teasingly as he shook his head. He leaned down and pecked me on the lips before opening the door for me. As rounded the car to get to his seat, I could not help but wonder where we are going. "Where are we going?"

"It is a surprise." He just said.

After pestering him to tell me about the location the entire drive and failing, we finally reached the place. It was the park where I used to spend time when I was fed up of my family. He opened the door for me and held his hand out which I happily took.

"How did you know about this park?"

"I may have followed you one day when I saw you going out and ended up here."

I shook my head while he lead the way. We reached the silent part of the park and a picnic was set up there. "You did this?" He nodded and I could see how he was unsure in his eyes. "I love it" I squealed and threw my hands around his neck and hugged him. I pulled way and took in my surroundings.

There was a cloth laid on the grass. There ware different boxes of food out of which I recognised one from the pastry shop I usually eat at and other food from different places. There was also a stack of books on one side and cute cushions. "Let's go" I said happily as I dragged him there and sat cross legged opposite him with one of the cushions on my lap.

I felt my mouth water as the heavenly aroma of the food filled my nostrils. "Let's eat. I am really hungry."

"I can surely see that." He laughed and I threw a glare in his way and he playfully surrendered. I opened the first box of food that was next to me and instantly my stomach grumbled a bit at the sight of the mouth watering sushi. Sushi was one of my favorite food of all time.

A small moan left my mouth as the delicious food satisfied my taste buds. I ate a few more from the box until my eyes fell on Alexander who was not eating anything but instead was just looking at me with a strange sparkle in his eyes. I felt blood rush to my cheeks a bit as I realised that he has probably been watching me eat since the start.

"What?" I asked, my mouth still full of food.

"Nothing." He replied with a small smile. I just shrugged and went back to eating.

"Wait." I said once realisation came on me. "Are you not going to eat?" I motioned to the box on the nap.

"I will if you feed me." He said with a smirk and I nearly spat out my food.

"What?" I asked again

"If you feed me I will eat." He said with his smirk becoming even cockier than before

"Jeez. You are such a child." I muttered as I used the chopstick and took a sushi from my box and fed him. As I looked him eat, I found myself smiling involuntarily.

"Why are you smiling like that?" He asked

"You. You look too cute." I laughed

"You are never going to stop calling me cute, are you?"

"Are you ever going to stop calling me little?"

"Whatever" He grumbled as he took the box from my hand. I raised an eyebrow at him. Did he get offended that I called him cute? As I was about to speak, he took a sushi in between the chopsticks and placed it in front of my mouth. "Eat." He said

I chuckled as I took the sushi in my mouth. "I thought you were angry there for a second."

"I can never be angry with you little wolf." He ruffled my hair

Finally after us feeding each other, we were over with the sushi. I was leaning my back against a tree with an éclair that Alexander had bought while he laid his head on my lap. He had his eyes closed while he had his arms wrapped around my waist as he was facing my stomach. As I looked at him, I could not help wonder how did I get so lucky. Today I feel like everything I did to try to get close with him and even if I failed, have paid off today. If one of us had actually rejected each other, we wouldn't be here.

I ran my free hand through his soft locks as I admired his side face with a small smile. Out of nowhere, he wrapped his hands around my waist tighter as he snuggled closer to me. I felt myself blush a bit. "You know it is not good to be staring at someone."

"Huh?" I said while eating the éclair

"Don't act like you were not just staring at me." He said. Even if I could not see his face properly, I was sure he had his smug look on and I was proven right when he turned and his face was facing mine. "I know I am handsome."

"Cocky much." I rolled my eyes.

"You got something on your lips." He wiped the side of my lips with his thumb and I shook my head as he licked the pastry filling from his thumb.

All of a sudden, he sat up and sat right opposite to where I was. I could see that he was nervous from how he was averting my gaze and how his ears were turning red. "Are you liking this so far?" He asked

"Are you serious? I am loving it Xander. It is the best time I have ever had in my life." I smiled at him

I watched as he fiddled with his pocket before taking a small black box out from it. He opened it, revealing a beautiful plain silver ring with a crescent moon on it. He took my hands in his free hand. "Before you think of anything, just hear me out. I want to to give this to you as a symbol of our relationship. If you think this is too much or too fast, it is fine. I understand but I really want to make new memories with you and spend more time with you" I cut off his rant as I smashed my lips against his.

He kept the box aside as he circled one of his arms around my waist and pulled me in his lap. I sucked on his lower lip while my hand fisted his hair, causing him to grunt into the kiss which turned me on way more than it needed to. I bit his lower lip as I slid my tongue in his mouth. For once, I was in control of the kiss and he did not seem to mind it. Instead his hands roamed around my curves freely, leaving a trail of sparkles on my skin underneath the material of my dress. Finally, we pulled away to catch our breaths. "I do not think we are going too fast and neither is it too much. The past is in the past. You had your reasons for what you did and I also want to make more beautiful memories with you." I answered with a smile

He took the box the nap and slid the ring on my finger. "You don't know how happy you made me. I promise to keep you happy and safe at all times."

"I trust you Xander and I promise to try my best for this relationship to work. I will do anything to keep you happy and also protect you." He laughed as he pulled me in a hug.

"Happy birthday little wolf." As soon as the words left his mouth, my body tensed and he seemed to have noticed it as he pulled away. I forgot my own birthday. It has been years since I last celebrated my birthday. Probably when I was 4, before the attack and all

"How do you know?" I asked

"Your grandmother told me."

"So you planned all of this for my birthday." I asked as I felt my eyes tearing up.

"Hmm." He hummed in response.

"Xander." I said and let out a shaky breath. "You know it was not necessary for all this." I was not used to people doing things for me. So thinking about Alexander having to do all of this for me kind of made me feel guilty.

"It is. You deserve all the happiness in the world." He cupped my cheeks and I felt the tears starting to roll down my cheeks at his words.

"Thank you so much Xander. This is the most someone has ever done for me." I sniffed "Thank you for making this birthday so memorable. Thank you" He kissed my tears away before turning me around so that I was leaning against his chest while he leaned against a tree. He wrapped his arms around me from behind and I leaned into his touch, letting a content sigh. He took one of the books and started to read them to me since I told him that I loved reading.

An hour later, we were still in the same position as we did nothing but just look at the surrounding. I played with his fingers on my laps while different thoughts passed my mind. "Xander?"

"Hmm"

"When do you think we will be able to tell everybody about us without turning things worse than it is?"

He sighed. "Soon. I promise you. Soon"

I wanted to scream to everyone to tell them about us being mates and how Alexander is not as heartless as he seems. I wanted to tell them everything and be able to walk around freely, not having to hide our relationship from anyone.

But like he said, it will happen. Soon. Little did we know it happened a lot sooner than we had expected.
