《My Vampire Ex》Dragon Tattoo

I won't lie. I'm on edge. After we had finished eating Finn blindfolded me and was now walking upstairs. He's never done anything remotely sinister to me. So I had no reason to think he was going to torture me. If he was, we would be headed downstairs. So where were we going?
We reached the top of the steps and headed further down the hallway than we ever had before. I heard a door open. Finn slowly intertwined his hand with mine, "I don't want you to trip." We walked across a threshold and went to the right. His hand left mine and I frowned, it felt good to have his hand in mine. I couldn't explain exactly why, but it just made me feel safe. "You can take it off now."
I pulled at the bow he had tied behind my head. The ribbon fell, revealing a room containing wall-to-wall mahogany bookshelves. In the middle of the room, there was a matching desk, computer, chair, lamp, and a few bean bags. I gasped. This was my heaven. "When you told me you were going to school to be an author I instantly wanted to show you this. This is one of my many personal libraries"
"One of many?!" My mouth hung open.
"Yes. I pride myself on keeping a library at each estate I own. That way I always have something to read. It's one of my favorite pastimes." He placed his arm around my waist. Normally, I would have flinched, but I was too starstruck to notice. "Why don't you go look around?"
I turned to look at him, "M-may I? I promise I won't be long. I just haven't been able to touch a book in forever."
He laughed softly, "please, take as long as you want, dear. I figured we could spend the day in here reading." I was near tears. This was so wonderful. Fin was so wonderful. So level-headed, intelligent, kind, a great cook, and getting better by the second. I couldn't believe it, but I was actually starting to like being around him.
I wandered the outlining walls of books until I came upon a book I had always wanted to read but never had the chance to, Metamorphosis by Kafka. "Can I read this one?" I walked over to the desk and handed Fin the book. He had been sitting there typing away on the computer.

"You can read anything you want. My library is your library. I'll read too as soon as I'm done checking my emails." He said, his typing fingers never faltering.
I couldn't stop myself. Before I knew it I had thrown my arms around his chest. "Thank you! You have no idea what this means to me, Finn! This is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. I'm so, so grateful." Jess! What the heck?! Humans should never touch a vampire. He had every right to strike me now.
I went to remove my arms but he was faster. He grabbed them and held them to his chest. "You are very welcome. I'm glad you're in a better mood. I like seeing you this happy."
I was about to apologize for touching him when there was a crash from downstairs. Finnigan was on his feet in an instant. "Someone is in the house," he whispered.
"W-who," I whispered back.
Finn picked me up and set me down in the desk chair. "Stay here. If you are in trouble I want you to scream at the top of your lungs, alright? But no matter what you hear downstairs, do not leave this spot. That's an order." He sped out the door and shut it behind him.
I sat in the chair shaking. The noise startled even Finn. That means it was bad. We were up on a mountain, who could it be? Or better yet, what could it be? This wasn't the best place to be if there was an intruder. I was sitting in the middle of the room, very easily accessible. I decided to move to the back of the room behind one of the bean bags. I felt safer out of sight.
Footsteps were making their way up the stairs. Oh, please, let it be Finn. I closed my eyes. I should have stayed in the chair. Now I can't see the door. Damn it. I focused everything on my hearing. My heart was pounding so loudly. If I could hear it, I knew the predator stalking the property could too. I took a deep breath and tried to steady myself.
"So you're that sweet smell," A stranger's hot breath beat against my neck. My heart nearly stopped. My eyes burst open. How had he gotten in without making a sound? I opened my mouth to scream for Finn but a hand was clamped over it before anything could escape. "Shhhh, no yelling in the library."

Ha, ha, ha, he's got jokes. Great. This is exactly what I need before death, corny library jokes no one asked for. Fuck this guy.
I squirmed in his grip as he lifted me up to stand. A part of me wanted to kick and punch and fight my way out. But then I thought about Finn. What if, this was all a test? Whether I liked it or not I belonged to the McClain family. I needed to always be on my best behavior, no matter what. Was Finn testing what I would do when confronted by a stranger? Strangers didn't break into houses though....and Finnigan's unease seemed genuine.
He slid my hair over the left side of my shoulder with his free hand. "It would do you well not to squirm, love. I want to bite the perfect spot, and if you make me mess up I'll have to start all over again. So be a good little human, yeah?" His Australian accent cut through my thoughts.
Test or not, it was useless trying to fight this guy. He would kill me the instant I tried to break free, I could feel it. I stopped fidgeting and nodded my head. His other arm snaked around my stomach and I glanced down at it. It was tan and muscular like Fins, he could go out in the sun. He must be as old as Finn too. His arm had a sleeve of various tattoos. "Thank you, love. It's always nice when food obeys." I tilted my head to the side, letting the stranger's fangs glide down my neck. They slid until landing right above my shoulder.
I shuddered. How hard was he going to go? "Don't worry, I won't make it hurt so long as you stay still. If you work with me, I'll work with you," he murmured in my neck.
I chose to focus on his tattoos. I didn't want to think about what was happening and tense up more. He had kept his word, they went in quite gentle, and he was feeding slow. As for his tattoos, the majority of his arm was covered by a green dragon; curling down until it reached his hand. That's where the head was. Around the dragon were various flowers and greenery. It was a beautiful piece. I always wanted tattoos but would chicken out at the last minute.
My eyes started to feel heavy. In all honesty, for a moment, I had forgotten he was draining the life out of me. My legs began to fail me, my killer was now supporting my full weight. He must have noticed this because his fangs retracted from my neck. "Mmm, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to take so much. I just never thought I'd have the pleasure of drinking from a Pureblood. How exciting to know you aren't extinct. I'm going to take good care of you."
I felt a burning sensation in my left wrist. It felt like it took ten years, but I finally got my eyes to glance down at it. He had taken a knife and sliced my wrist open and pressed it against his sliced palm. What was he doing?
I was beginning to blackout. His voice was getting fainter by the second. "Stay with me for a bit longer, love. Let the mixture of our blood kick in." Why was he mixing our blood? Is this how vampires create other vampires?
In the distance, I heard the door burst open. "Jess, Jess, are you alright? Whoa, Zach?" Finn's voice was music to my ears. So he did know my killer but didn't know he was here. This wasn't a test.
Shit.
"Sit, and do not move or speak for anyone but me," Zach whispered. My eyes glazed over and my stomach felt queasy until I did as he said. Every part of me wanted to run to Finn, but Zach had somehow paralyzed me with his words. What was happening to me?
"Jessica come here." Finn's voice rang out. I stared in his direction, frozen. Why couldn't I move? I wanted Finn.
Zach stepped in front of me, blocking my view. "Oh, she's-- huh. Um. That's not gonna work mate...." Zach trailed off.
"Why," Finn growled.
I wasn't strong enough to keep my eyes open any longer. The last thing I saw was Finn at my side.
