Zachary lifted Kara's head from out of the water-filled, industrial sized, sink. "This is getting old, Kara." I warned.

She coughed and gasped, barely conscious. "I don't know anything else. Just stop, please."

I rolled my eyes. What part of this was she not getting? We had been at this for hours and all we had managed to get was that there was a witch and her name was Monique. "You can say that all you want but I stopped caring about your well-being the moment you helped Jared get rid of Jessica."

"She never did anything bad to you but you still helped that son of a bitch hurt her. How could you?" Zach added.

Kara shook her head, "you two don't get it. If I didn't play my cards right I could've just as easily ended up on Jared's shit list right next to Jess. I don't want that much hate thrown at me. I had to protect myself."

I opened my mouth to protest but Zach beat me to it. He threw her against the wall with such force, I could hear her wheeze in pain. "Oh, so you don't deserve Jared's wrath but Jessica does?! She would have been strong and tried to help you if your roles were switched! You don't deserve to live!" Just when he was about to bite into her next he dropped her to the ground. Kara landed with a thud and laid propped against the wall, her eyes closed. "Someone's calling Jared," he held up the flip phone.

I felt so panicked. Do I answer it? On one hand, the person could realize I'm not Jared and that could possibly make them hurt Jess. On the other hand, what if I could find out where she was? Or what if I could talk to her? I shook my head, stop over thinking. "Keep her quiet." I grabbed the phone and sped down to the basement. "Hello," I tried to sound as much like Jared as possible. My fist pounded on the basement door. Tanner would be furious if I didn't tell him what was happening.

Within seconds he threw it open. "Did you find anything out?" He questioned.

I put my finger to my lips and put the phone on speaker. "Hi, is this Mr. Chavez?" A women on the other line asked.

"Yes, this is he." I lied.

"Good afternoon, this is Gwendlyn from Merciless Auction House. I was just calling to let you know that the girl you had put on the market has been picked up and we will be forwarding you the money within the next twenty-four hours."

Tanner and I locked eyes and my heart dropped. She's been at a filthy auction house being touched by lord knows how many vampires and other creatures. Even worse, she's been bought by one of those monsters. "Do you happen to have the address and phone number of her new owner? I need to mail some of her things out to them." Tanner nodded, acknowledging that he agreed with my plan.

"Unfortunately due to our policy I cannot release that information. I can however tell you that his name is Derek Darrow."

Well at least that's something I can work with. "That's perfectly understandable, thank you."

"Of course! And you would be happy to know that we were able to put all of the special accommodations in place for her. We went ahead and took the hourly injections you wanted out of the payment you will receive, is that alright with you?"

"Hourly injections?" I blurted. It probably wasn't a good idea. Jared would have known what she was talking about but I had to know what he had told them to do to her, that way I could do it back to him ten times worse.

"Yes, sir. The hourly sedative injections you requested so that she wasn't able to move or talk."

My hands clenched into fists. He made it so she couldn't protect herself at all. I could see it so clearly, her laying there forced to endure whatever heinous act a horny vampire wanted to do to her.

"Is that alright, sir?" The woman repeated. Her voice sounded like it was miles away now. I knew where Jess was. Even better, I had the name of the next heart I was going to rip out, Derek Darrow. Speaking of ripping out hearts, now I can rip Jared's out.

"Yes, that's fine," I said through clenched teeth. "Was that all you needed from me?"

"Yep it looks like that's it. Thank you for your service. Have a great night!"

I snapped the phone shut and looked at Tanner. He was practically vibrating with rage. As much as I wanted to kill Jared with my own bare hands I felt the honor really went to him. "I'll let you talk to him alone." I began to walk back up the stairs.

"No," Tanner called after me, "you deserve to see this. I need you to come with me, brother."
