Ximora sat on the bed with the same occurring feeling. She was never able to escape it, hurt.
This time, she was hurt by the person she always ran to. So now, she was completely alone.
this sounded so poetic.
"Mora, can we go see the lights tonight?" KJ asked coming into the room.
Ximora nodded "Yea we can"
you still coming to count this money?
Ximora sighed, she had forgotten that was her job. Putting her pride to the side she responded, because she definitely needed the money.

Fuck is you fighting that bitch for??
She rolled my eyes as he started blowing up her phone.
"KJ put your shoes on" Ximora said.
_____________
"DRACO" KJ smiled as he opened the door.
He looked down and smiled back at her.
"Wassup" he said picking her up.
He eyed Ximora then turned his attention back to KJ as she went on about missing him.
"I missed you too. You can go in the room and watch TV" he told her then set her down.
As soon as she was out of sight his head snapped to Ximora.
"What you fighting for?" He asked.
"Where's the money?" She asked, ignoring him.
He chuckled "This my problem wit you. Never wanna communicate"
"Because it shouldn't be your concern Jaelen, why you so invested?" She rolled her eyes.
Instead of saying anything else, he went into his safe and got the money for her to count.
They sat in a tension filled silence, all you heard was the money counter whirring.
"She was the one going around speaking on me.."Ximora started.
He let out a dry chuckle.
"And I apologize for blaming you" she finished.
"What I tell you bout feeding into that?" He shook his head.

"Jaelen she told everyone, everything about me. She was literally the only person I had and trusted. I had a right to react the way I did" She vented.
He nodded "Ight but you close to graduation, ion want you messing any of that up for anyone"
"I know, again I'm sorry" she sighed.
A silence fell over them as Jaelen went off in deep thought.
"I made y'all my priority. I care about you and KJ.. a lot. That's why you my concern that's why I'm so invested" he told her.
She opened her mouth to speak but he cut her off.
"I want you Ximora," he spoke again, kind of leaving her shocked.
Ximora knew there was obviously chemistry and feelings between them, but she didn't think that either of them would act on it.
"And I understand you been hurt a lot by the people you trust, so I can be patient. But I want you in my life" he finished.
She nodded not really knowing what to immediately say, so he spoke again.
"Youn gotta gimme an answer now or say anything, but I just wanted that to be known"
"..The money is done" she said causing him to laugh.
"Ight thank you." He took her money out and gave it to her, then put the rest in a duffel bag.
Once he finished he sat back down, this time beside her.
"Okay, so my initial response was weird. So lemme clarify, I like you too" she told him.
He nodded.
"What do we do now?" She asked.
"I told you imma be patient, we don't gotta rush into anything. I'm on your time" he told her.
"Okay" she smiled feeling a little less awkward about everything.
"You hungry?" He asked getting up and looking for his keys.
She nodded "Can we get Chic Fil A?"
"Yea, go get KJ. Imma be in the car" he told her.

Trickster's Tale
Be careful when demanding reparations from gods. They rarely own up to their mistakes. Due to a goddess's shortsighted error, Perry finds himself transported to a distant Universe with new proportions and a different identity. Instead of cowering before the deity, he demands she opens a portal home or provides reparations for him and his bereaved family. Unfortunately, standing up for himself doesn't earn Perry respect. Instead, she curses him with cowardice, limiting his combat and magical potential. Little does the goddess know that nothing can stand in the way of Perry's sheer will. If brute strength and arcane might won't get him the justice he desires, wit and creativity will. Perry's first target? A goblin shaman. Then, the world. And so begins, the bard's ballad. Trickster's Tale (Book 1): Is That A Lute In Your Pocket will release on Kindle Unlimited on the 10th of May.Due to KU's exclusivity rules, I've had to take most of book 1 down.Book 1 Bard's Ballad takes place in the same extended Universe as my other story, The Houndsman. It's set on a distant 'disk', though. As a result, the magic system is unique in comparison and has a harder LitRPG system. While the story utilises stats, it doesn't take them seriously and occasionally makes fun of regular LitRPG mechanics.

I'll be posting chapters from that one in the coming months (with any luck). If you enjoyed this novel please leave a review as I'm always eager to read a critique of my work to improve my writing. - Best regards in these trying times, M.I. O'Flaherty
