《Heaven Warrior》~ 003

"Where you rushing to so early?" Heaven asked, seeing Solana scurry around their house in her outfit for the day. She had woken up at six AM to get her morning started. Solana was completely booked for the day, but she wanted to stop by the hospital before she went to her Beauty Salon.
"I want to stop by the hospital to see her before I open the shop. Maybe there's been some changes over night. She's probably awake now, Ms. Georgia said I could come." Solana replied, joining Heaven in the kitchen.
Heaven smiled, watching Solana skim through the refrigerator. "So, when they do process her into the foster system how will you deal with that?" She asked, curious to hear Solana's response.
"Well I know that some kids are neglected in the foster system, and honestly I don't want her to go through anything else. I'm still going to visit every single chance that I get." Solana replied, pulling out a water bottle.
"Lana you remember a couple years back you told me your long-term goals. One was opening up your salon, which you did and you had one more." Heaven said. Heaven had remembered that a couple of days before Solana got released from the mental institution she expressed what she wanted her goals to be in life.
Solana chewed on her bottom lip, trying to refresh her own memory. Honestly she tried to keep the mental institution in her past, but she couldn't. The institution and Heaven is what saved her, so she only thanked them.
"I said to do hair." Solana mumbled to herself, trying to think long and hard. When she finally remembered what she had said, her head snapped back up to Heaven. "I said that I wanted to adopt." She smiled.
Heaven chuckled, nodding her head. "I'm so proud of you Solana. You never fail to amaze me. Do what you think is best, no pressure. Just remember that you'll be a great mom." She stated, sincerely.
"You think so?"
"I know so." Heaven replied. "Let me know when you get there, and if they're any changes."
Solana thought to herself for a moment and smiled. "Ok I will." With that statement, she out of the house on a mission. She had exactly two hours before her first appointment and she wanted to spend every second she had with the little girl.
~
Ms. Georgia gasped in excitement. "Look you have a visitor." She smiled, looking up at the door seeing a shy Solana. Ms. Georgia had spent the entire night with the child, making sure that she was being properly taken care of.
"I brought a couple things." Solana smiled, walking in with a giant teddy bear, and gift bags. "I hope this doesn't go against our agreement or anything." She said satting the gifts down. She had stopped at Walmart to pick up a couple of gifts and clothes.
"Of course not, they just inserted a G tube into her stomach to get some nutrients into her. Her temperature is ninety-two so it did go up just a little. Fingerprints came back this morning." Ms. Georgia explained, standing up from her position.
"Is she awake?" Solana asked.
Ms. Georgia waved her hand over, prompting Solana to walk over to where the little girl is facing. "Yeah she's awake. Solana I want you to meet Solai Morris. She's four, but turning five next month." She spoke, smiling.
Solana cheesed widely, bending down to Solai's level. "Your name starts with an S, just like mine. My name is Solana, but you can call me SoSo." Solana replied. Solai only stared at Solana not knowing anything that she had just said.

Ms. Georgia noticed and decided to speak. "Well her records showed no type of school environment. She's four, and hasn't had any type of learning done. I've been trying to talk to her, but she's just been staring at me."
Solana pouted. She swallowed the lump in her throat, and carefully sat in the hospital bed with Solai. She watched as Solai watched her every move which made her think about something. Solana gently rose her hand and as soon as she was about to caress Solai's cheek, the little girl flinched closing her eyes as tight as she could.
"Ok, I'm sorry." Solana immediately stated, standing to her feet. "I'm sorry." She repeated, watching the tears leak from Solai's closed eyes.
"Yeah, so I have pediatric trauma consultant coming to try and talk with her. We need to know what's going on. Authorities looked up her parents and they're consistent addicts. Once they find them, they'll be held in custody." Ms. Georgia responded.
"Well they don't deserve to ever see her again. How could they just abandon their baby like that. Is their anyway that they could be in jail for life, because that's a petition that I would sign for." Solana stated, with a frowned face. "Those people are sick, and deserve to rot in prison."
"It's all up to the judge." Ms. Georgia sighed.
Solana shook her head. She just hoped that the system didn't fail Solai. She went over to the gift bags that she had bought and dug around until she found a small stuffed panda bear. "I love panda bears." She softly said, bending back down to Solai's level.
Solai opened her eyes, and looked at the panda bear. She reached her small hand out, touching the bear's stomach. She started poking the bear's stomach, liking the squishy feel of the cottoned-filled animal. She then reached her other hand out, wanting to hold the bear.
"It's all yours." Solana nodded, laying the bear in Solai's small little arms. Solai took the bear and hugged it tight, showing her appreciation.
"I think she likes you." Ms. Georgia said, nudging Solana's shoulder. "I think you'll be the one that'll get her to talk, what do you think?"
"Well honestly I went through something very traumatic a couple of years ago, and I wanted to shut the entire world out. It took for my sister, Heaven, to help me get through all of that. I think it'll just take the right person." Solana nodded. "I think she knows what she wants to say, but she's either scared to say it or doesn't know how to say it."
"I agree. Our goal is to get her talking before her birthday. Hopefully with the speech therapist, and the trauma therapist she'll say a couple of words." Ms. Georgia replied. "We need to know the truth about what happened, and she's our only resource right now."
"Just give her some time. Even though she's small, she's still trying to process everything. I can only imagine what's going through her little brain. When she's ready to talk, she will. Trust me Ms. Georgia pressuring her won't do anything but delay her more." Solana explained. She understood where Ms. Georgia was coming from, but she also knew how Solai felt.
"Look at you in protective mode." Ms. Georgia chuckled.
Solana giggled, shaking her head. She returned her attention back to Solai who was now staring at her. "Oh my, look at the big bear who came to visit you." She exaggerated, walking to the human-sized bear that she bought.

Solai threw the panda bear to the side and threw the covers from over her. She got onto her knees, and reached her arms out wanting to hold the bear. She started using her hands doing the grabbing motions.
"Hi my name is Mr. Bear, and I want to be your best friend." Solana mocked in a animated voice. She sat the bear on the bed and watched as Solai grabbed the bear snuggling into it. "Aw, besties for the resties." She cooed.
~
"You then wore her out and it's only been two hours." Ms. Georgia laughed, watching Solai sleep peacefully with the human-sized bear. "I guarantee you she's not going to let that bear out of her sight." She added.
"Well it's hers to keep. I have to go to work now, but I'll try to be back before visiting hours are over. If not, then I'll be here tomorrow morning." Solana replied, adjusting the covers over Solai seeing that she was shivering.
"And please keep me updated on her temperature. She's been shivering for a while now." Solana added, taking the dry erase marker and writing a note on Solai's white board that kept all of her medical information. It read Solana was here Xoxo.
"I will." Ms. Georgia nodded.
Solana looked at Solai one last time before exiting the room. She hurried to the elevator, opening her emails. She had a client at ten AM, and it was currently ten on the head which meant that she would be late. After the elevator took her to the parking garage, Solana wasted no time jogging to her car.
As soon as she was about to open her car door, she felt a cold piece of metal on the back of her neck. Her heart dropped to her feet along with everything that she was holding in her hands. Her first instinct was to grab her taser, but she realized that was in her purse which was on the ground.
"Bend down and give me all of your money out of your wallet." The masked man instructed standing behind Solana, finger on the trigger of his gun.
The tears that brimmed Solana's eyes fell, as she bent down picking up her purse. Before she could even dig in it, the man pushed her against the car making the purse fall out of her hands again.
"Bitch you think I'm stupid?" He mugged.
He kept the gun at Solana's neck, while he got the purse himself. He used the arm he had to dig around and get all of the loose cash she had in her wallet. "Bitch don't try and look at me!" He shouted.
Solana felt her breathing get caught in her throat, as she felt the gunman press up against her. Solana didn't know what to do, she was scared. She finally got the urge to turn around, and saw that the gunman was licking his lips at her.
"I'll see you around." He smirked, bucking at Solana and then running away.
Solana scrambled to the ground getting the rest of her things and getting into her car, instantly locking the doors. Her hands shook uncontrollably while she tried to call Zylin. "I'm so stupid, get it together Solana." She cried, pressing his contact.
"I should've watched my surroundings." She sniffled, looking around in her mirrors. "Please pick up Zy."
"Waddup So." His voice boomed through the speaker of her phone. When he heard sniffling, he stopped the tattoo that he was doing and mugged the phone.
"What's wrong with you?" He asked.
"This gu—guy. He robbed me, and—Before she could even finish Solana had broke down into a whole panic attack. She dropped the phone and started holding her head sobbing loudly.
"Where the fuck you at?" Zylin mugged, jumping up from his position. "Aye I gotta reschedule to finish you, Cane let's go we got a problem."
"Solana where you at?" He repeated, jogging out of his tattoo shop with Cane not too far behind. He tried to look at Solana's location but noticed that she wasn't sharing it anymore.
Solana held her head, trying to regain control of her mind but she just couldn't. Even though Solana rarely had nightmares, she still visited her counselor for times like these. She wished that she didn't suffer from PTSD, but she did. Anything triggered it.
"Hello?" Heaven's voice sounded, now connected to their call.
"Mama, where the fuck is Solana?" Zylin asked, as his leg bounced up and down rapidly.
"She at the hospital, why?" Heaven yawned, still not oblivious to the fact that Solana was on the phone. "Who crying?" She frowned.
Zylin smacked his teeth, racing out of the parking lot. "Man somebody just robbed her. I think she having a panic attack. That's her crying." He explained, making Cane's eyes turn black.
"On my way." Heaven said, jumping out of her bed. She went into the closet reaching to the top of the shelf, putting her fingerprint on the metal box. "I been waiting to use this bitch." She nodded, grabbing the customized gun that Cane had got her for her birthday one year.
~
"When the fuck did you stop sharing your location with me?" Zylin shouted, pacing around their living room. He made Solana choose to either reschedule her appointments or have them come to their house.
Solana sniffled, playing with her fingers. "I don't know."
"You see how long it took me to get to you? Because I couldn't get your location. I had to call Heaven just to get your damn location!" Zylin fussed, stopping in front of Solana. He wasn't trying to be harsh, but the situation that she just went through really scared him. He was upset that he couldn't get to her fast enough.
This was one of the reasons why he hated when Solana went places by herself. Solana was like his little sister, but also like his oldest daughter. He was very overprotective of Solana, because he knew how nice and fragile she could be. He didn't play when it came down to her.
"Zylin go take a walk. Cool off." Heaven stated. Zylin shook his head walking to the back patio to calm himself down.
"I forgot to turn it back on after I went out to lunch with the guy that I told you about." Solana admitted. "It wasn't on purpose Heav, I just forgot." She sniffed.
"It's okay. He's just upset that it happened. Did you get a good look at the guy?" Heaven replied.
"No he had on a mask. You think that maybe he could've been following me this entire time and I just didn't notice?" Solana asked.
"It's hard to tell baby, that's why I always tell you to watch your surroundings. Especially in parking garages. There's barely cameras, and it's like a maze. You never know what will happen." Heaven sighed. "I'm just glad that he didn't hurt you. We can replace your things, but we can't replace you."
"I don't want to go home for a while." Solana mumbled, looking over to Heaven.
"You know you don't even have to explain. Your room will always be here." Heaven nodded. "But don't let this pychopath stop you from grinding. Do you want to relocate all of your appointments to here for a while?"
"Will that be unprofessional? What if people call me unprofessional?" Solana wondered.
"It's not unprofessional So. Your safety comes first. They'll understand. It's not like you're cancelling them, you're just relocating for a little while." Heaven reassured Solana.
"I love you." Solana pouted, embracing her big sister into a big hug. Heaven always made her feel better, no matter what the situation was. She really looked up to Heaven.
"I love you more." Heaven smiled.
A knock on the door made the two pull away from each other. Solana looked at her phone, and stood to her feet going towards the front door. Before she opened it, she peeked through the peephole and smiled small. "It's my client."
"Oh my god girl, I thought you was gone cancel on me. I don't mind taking this drive my hair look a damn mess. I need your hands in my head right now." One of her regular clients rambled, walking into the house.
"I'm sorry boo. I just had a rough morning. You can follow me." Solana chuckled, closing the door making sure to lock it. "That's my sister Heav." She mentioned.
"Hey girl."
"Hey boo. Let me know if you need anything." Heaven told Solana. Solana nodded in return. She watched as the duo disappeared to the back of the house, making her smile. "She a go-getter just like me." She said to herself.
