sound of the whistle being blown again was heard. Jahseh leaned over, his hands on his knees as he breathed heavily. He was at P.E doing this stupid gym benchmark where he had to run a mile. You would think he would be fine running since he plays football, but he's been lazy for the past few months.
"Hiiii friend!" He look up seeing Dexter running up to him.
He was in a cheery mood for what reason, Jahseh didn't know. But, he had a feeling what it was.
"Are you okay?" Dexter asked, jogging lightly in front of him. Jahseh stood up to his full height then let out a small sigh.
A few of his other classmates ran past them and he shook his head. He was so over this whole gym class, he just wanted to go.
"I'm fine just tired of this shit!" He finally answered in a mumble. His mouth was dry from not hydrating before stepping out onto the field.
He thought he wouldn't need it and that he would get done in no time like the previous years. But, he was somewhat outta shape, so that didn't happen whatsoever. He started walking, Dexter still jogging beside him.
"How are you an athlete and your outta shape? Get it together, Jahseh." Dexter joked and he smack his lips.
"I'm getting it together, I just have to get back in the zone." He answered, still out of breath.
He look over near the bleachers seeing his dad wasn't paying attention. He was tired and needed to rest, but he knew how his dad was. One disadvantage, was that his dad was not only his football coach, but the gym teacher. He couldn't get away from him at all.
They lived in the same house and went to the same school. It was annoying and at times Jahseh just didn't care.
Like this very moment.
"So, what stupid thing are you about to do?" Dexter asked, already knowing he was about to do something.
That was his best friend, so of course he knew.
"I'm 'bout to walk my black ass in the school. I'm not staying out here." He answered. He lifted his shirt a little wiping the sweat off his forehead.
"Oooh!" A few girls that stood near by, cooed as they watched him. Dexter started laughing since Jahseh ignored them with all his might.
"You need to stop being mean." Dexter told him, looking back at the girls.
"They need to stop talking to me." Jahseh replied, putting his shirt back down.
They kept walking, getting closer to Apollo who stood on the bleachers. Jahseh and Dexter look at each other and they already knew what to do. Dexter speed walked to Apollo attempting to occupy his attention. When the coast was clear, Jahseh started walking off the field and towards the building.

Before he could get any farther, it was too late and he was caught.
"SMITH!" Apollo shouted then he blew his whistle. Jahseh sigh turning around, Apollo blew his whistle again bringing in the class.
Apollo got off the bleachers and started walking over to Jahseh who gave him a mug. Once again, Apollo blew his whistle right in Jahseh face.
"Can you not." Jahseh told him, annoyed already.
"Where you think your going?" Apollo asked him. The two stood face to face since they were the same height; six feet.
"Where does it look like I'm going?" Jahseh retorted, not backing down from his dad.
Yes, he should be respectful to his parent and he was. He gave his dad so much respect, just sometimes he couldn't control the anger and aggression in his voice. And parents seen that as disrespectful when it's pretty hard to control at times.
"Class, it seems like your wide receiver is trying to get out of his responsibilities!" Apollo exclaimed, Jahseh mentally roll his eyes.
"Some role model he is." Apollo continued, looking to embarrass his son. He was going to teach him a lesson. The way he was going about it was wrong, but he didn't have that mindset.
"So, since our star football player think he's different from the rest of the class, everyone have to run another lap." Apollo said, the class groaning and throwing their hands up.
"Are you serious?" One boy asked, Apollo look back at him.
"I'm very serious." He answered, groaning was heard once again from the class.
"But, we're going to miss our next period." A girl told him and he shrugged his shoulders.
He look back at Jahseh, "Thank your wide receiver." He remarked. He put his whistle in between his lips then blew it again. It took all of Jahseh to not hit it out his mouth this time.
"Let's go! The longer you take, the later you are to class!" Apollo shouted.
The class groaned, mumbling under their breaths getting themselves together. Some started their run, wanting to get it over with. Dexter stood there for a few minutes looking at the father and son who stare at each other. He was hoping Jahseh didn't do anything.
"You see what your laziness cause the whole class?" Apollo asked, smartly.
"You'll get detention if your late to class, so get running!" Apollo told him. Jahseh bumped his dad shoulder, walking over to Dexter.
Apollo blew his whistle again, Jahseh taking a deep breath.
"I'm about to shove that whistle down his throat."

"This class will be talking about-" Jahseh tuned out his teacher as he continued talking about what they'll learn in class.

Jahseh shook his head, swiping out his messages. An airdrop message popped up on his phone and he smack his lips. Accepting it, he look at the image the person sent them. It was a picture of a girl with heart eyes on it. Looking up from his phone, he look over seeing the same girl from the picture smiling at him.
And that girl was Brittney Sims.
The head cheerleader of Westbrook High Trojans. One of the "popular" girls that others look up to and some are scared of. Jahseh roll his eyes, deleting the picture then locking his phone. He lean back in his seat, crossing his arms and decided to listen to his teacher for once.
"Alright, so this class won't be difficult if you just do the work. Next week, we're going to have a group project, so the person sitting next to you will be your partner." Mr. Brown said.
Jahseh look over to the side seeing the person sitting next to him. It was a girl that he didn't recognize at all. He had never seen her before, so he assume she was new. Her side profile was cute. She was brown skin, her hair straightened and she wore glasses.
Not trying to be weird, he looked away and focused back on Mr. Brown.
"This project is 50% of your grade, so if your partner is a slacker then you have to figure something out because that's your grade. We'll talk about this tomorrow, but for now y'all are able to chill. Please keep the volume to a medium." Mr. Brown told them before sitting down.
"Ayo..." Jahseh look back feeling someone touch his shoulder.
He look back seeing Connor, a boy he played football with. He was a bench warmer, but still apart of the team.
Jahseh moved his hand off his shoulder, "What?" He asked, aggressively.
"Bro, we should be partners since we're cool like that. I know you don't want to be partners with her." Conner remarked, pointing at the girl beside Jahseh.
"Please shut the hell up." The girl said which caught Jahseh off. She turned around towards them and he was finally able to see her.
She was really pretty.
"No need to be mad girl." He remarked and she roll her eyes.
"I have a name, so use it." She told him. Jahseh just sat back watching the two of them.
"Oh, what's your name?"
"It's Blu." she answered, Jahseh look at her.
"Your named after a color? Were your parents high or something?" Conner joked, hitting Jahseh shoulder.
Jahseh glared at him giving him a warning to not touch him again.
"No, my parents weren't high. Were your parents preparing their son to be a school shooter with that name, Conner?" She asked, emphasizing his name.
Conner smack his lips, "Very funny, at least I have a dad. Jahseh and I are apart of the having a dad club." He said about to tap Jahseh shoulder, but Jahseh glared at him.
"That's so damn old and yes, I do have a dad. He's currently in Pakistan fighting for this country after you and your ancestors fucked it up years ago and continued to do so 'til this day. When he's available, I'll make sure to call him so you can see him. Instead of worrying about my dad, worry about you searching up penis enlargement pills." Blu retorted, Jahseh chuckling a little.
"I-I didn't even search that up. Now, your lying." Conner said, his face started to turn red. Jahseh knew he was lying just by that.
"Mhm, whatever you say Conner. I just want to remind you that next time you want to search that up, lower your brightness on your school laptop. Also, most girls don't care about the size just the motion of the ocean boo." She told him, Conner face now bright red.
He didn't even bother to say anything and instead lower his head. Jahseh raise his brow a little then look back at the girl. The two made eye contact with each other and she gave him a smile.
"Your shoes are nice." She told him then turned back around in her seat.
"Uhh, thanks."
