retro 1's University Blue sneakers were on her feet. The light blue and white sneakers went well with the light blue sweatsuit she wore on this chilly, October day. She sat on the park bench, staring out into space, her hair blowing in the wind. She heard little kid laughter causing her to turn around. She seen a little girl, giggling and running over.
She wasn't able to make out the person behind the girl until they stepped into view. Jahseh and her made eye contact with each other. She got up off the bench and started walking, Jahseh running after her.
"Blu!" He called out, grabbing her arm. She stopped walking turning to face him.
"Jahseh, I have to go home." She lied trying to snatch her arm away. She actually didn't want to talk to him because she knew the conversation would be about the video.
She was over the whole thing and wanted to forget about it. The damage was done and there was no way to go back and change her ways. It is what it is.
"Blu, relax please." He begged her, holding onto her arm. Not too tight, but tight enough that she couldn't snatch her arm away. He look back to see if Tootie was alright before looking back at her.
"Jahseh-"
"I know you don't wanna talk to me, but we need to." He cut her off.
"Everything is fine, so we really don't need to talk." She told him, still trying to snatch her arm away but gave up. He was stronger than her, so there was no point.
"We do need to talk, Blu. I can't walk away cause I'm with my sister, so just walk to my house with me." He told her, Blu quickly shook her head.
"I'm not going to anyone's house." She said, finally able to snatch her arm away. Before she could walk away, Jahseh stepped in front of her.
"Nothing is going to happen, I promise." He told her, already knowing she was having doubts. All he wanted to do was apologize for not helping, nothing more and nothing less. He could tell she was scared, but he wasn't going to do anything.
He moved closer to her, staring directly in her eyes. "I promise I won't do anything." He told her, meaning it. Blu stare back at him then nodded her head.
"Sure." She finally spoke. She wouldn't say she didn't trust him because she did, she was just being hesitant. She was making sure it didn't happen for a second time or ever again at that.
"Okay, Tootie come on!" He shouted, Blu look back seeing the pretty little girl running over. She watched as Jahseh pick her up then kiss her cheek.
"Tootie this is Blu. Blu this is my little sister, Miracle, but I call her Tootie since her skin color is like the color of those tootsie roll candies." Jahseh said, Blu chuckled a little.
"Seriously?" She asked and Jahseh nodded his head.

"I was a kid when I gave her the nickname." He mentioned, kissing Tootie cheek again and she smile.
"Tootie, you okay with Blu walking with us?" He asked her. Tootie look at Blu then nodded her head, Blu gave her a smile.
"Come on."
They started walking, leaving the park. Blu kept her head down a little as she walk beside Jahseh and listened to him and his sister talk. She found it cute how they interacted with each other. She figured Jahseh was his sister keeper. The way he talked to her like she was grown was cute. She lowkey wanted to have a sibling, but got rid of that thought when she realized she was going to have to take of him/her.
She was going to pass on that for now. They finally arrived at his house, Jahseh seeing his dad car outside. He let out a small sigh, putting Tootie down and she frown a little. Apollo and Kelly walked out the house, the usual frown on Apollo face.
"Where the fuck were y'all at?" He asked aggressively, Blu scrunching up her face at how he was talking. Jahseh ignored his dad, bending down and kissing Tootie forehead.
"I'll see your princess." He told her and she smile from ear to ear.
Apollo glared at Jahseh who continued to ignore him. Blu was confused, so she didn't say anything. She followed after Jahseh and sat next to him on the step.
"Hi coach." She said, giving him a small wave. Apollo mugged her and she tuck in her lips.
"Don't have her in my fucking house." was all he said, Jahseh still ignoring him.
"JAHSEH-"
"I heard you." Jahseh cut him off which angered Apollo. Blu noticed the tension between the two, but she didn't speak on it. She was more worried about Kelly who was looking her up and down with a stank face.
"Mmmm, yeah don't have her in my house or there'll be a problem." She remarked, still eyeing Blu. Blu roll her eyes, shaking her head.
"We'll be back and you better not leave this house." Apollo said, grabbing Tootie hand roughly and walking to the car. Blu watched as they all got in the car, Kelly still eyeing her out the window.
She look down because any second she was going to go off. And she respected her elders, but at times like this she didn't have time for their bull. They finally pulled off and Blu was relieved.
"Your mom-"
"She's my stepmom." Jahseh interrupted her.
"Sorry, your stepmom is annoying and what's up with your dad? Why does it seem like there's animosity between y'all?" She asked looking at him.
"Him and I don't have the best connection right now." Jahseh answered, leaning back on the step and she nodded her head.
"Is it because of what happened?" She asked, Jahseh shrugged his shoulders.
"Part of the reason, but I'm grounded because of that so yeah." He mentioned.
"While we're talking about that, I wanna apologize." He said, sitting up and turning towards her.

Blu shook her head, "Please don't cause there's no need to. The situation is over, so it doesn't matter."
"I know the situation is over, but I feel like I should've helped or did something when you came to me. Even though, I did fight him for it, it was still fucked up how I acted at first and I'm sorry." He apologized being sincere.
She let out a small sigh, "I accept your apology, but it doesn't matter. I really don't wanna talk about it anymore." she told him, crossing her arms.
Jahseh nodded his head, "Right, but you wanna go somewhere with me?" he questioned, she glance over at him.
"Didn't your dad said to not leave the house?" She asked watching him stand up.
"Ion give a damn what my dad said. So, you coming or not?" He asked, holding his hand out in front of her. She grabbed it and got up.
"Where are we going?"
"You'll find out."
Jahseh picked up the seashell he seen and held it on his hand. Hearing her laughing, he look up putting his attention on Blu who was in the water. She wanted to get her feet wet, so that's exactly what she was doing. He watched her spin around with her arms out, she was laughing and it made him chuckle a little.
He went back to playing with the shell in his hand as he sat on the sand. He had taken her to Old Orchard beach, a place he went to with his mom when he was younger. Before Tootie came and it was only him and Jason, his mom use to always take them to the beach at night. It started with the whole family then to just him and his mom.
Jason ended up growing up and was worrying about high school and basketball, so he didn't have time. Apollo, of course, at the time was only worrying about work and nothing else. So, it was just Jahseh and his mom. They would come out here at night, sit on the sand and pick up seashells. He remembered picking up one and trying to hear the ocean from it.
However, all of that stopped once Jahseh turned eleven. That was when his mom and dad started to have complications with their relationship. They would argue every day, nonstop about multiple things. And one thing they argued a lot about was Jahseh, himself. Apollo didn't like how his mom was steady babying Jahseh and his mom didn't like how his dad was being rough with him.
Her excuse was that she knew Jahseh was different from other kids and that was true. She knew he had mental issues, she wanted to help but Apollo wasn't having it. Jahseh knew for sure if his parents would've caught his mental illness early, it wouldn't be as bad as it was now. All his emotions were built up from years ago until now.
He needed to let it all out, but he had no one to do it to. And until he did, he was just going to keep it to himself.
"Jahseh!" He was brought out his thoughts hearing Blu dragging his name. She skipped over to him, a smile on her face. She sat down next to him, pulling down her pant legs.
"You was having fun huh?" He asked her and she nodded her head eagerly.
"Yes I was, I never been to a beach a night. It's really pretty out here." She said looking around, taking in the scenery.
She look over at Jahseh then spoke, "Are we friends?" She asked, catching him off guard. Jahseh look at her seeing she was serious.
"Your cool." He answered.
Blu nodded her head, "A nice way to say no." She mumbled.
"That's not what I meant, Blu. I meant to say yes we're friend. I only had one friend for awhile, so when I say your cool I'm not being sarcastic. Your different, hardheaded at times, but I mess with your vibe. So, we're friends." He quickly cleared up for her.
He liked Blu and didn't mind being friends. She was different, understanding and pretty. Plus, Dexter was his only friend and at times the two really didn't hang out with each other. It wasn't like they had much in common, but they were still friends. He didn't mind having another friend by his side, if she decides to stay after finding out the real Jahseh.
That was something he was worrying about. People switching up the moment they find out he had mental issues. He still have yet to find someone that wouldn't judge him.
Blu moved closer to him then rested her head in his shoulder. "Thanks for taking me here." She thanked him, Jahseh look down at her then back at the ocean.
He smirk a little, "Your welcome."

Life of a Core
After a disembodied voice had told him he was what amounted to an exceptionally talented rock, it had been hard to not let it go to his non-existent head. Until, random chance had decided to give him a square kick in the minerals. Which had in turn forced him to fend for himself in an unknown land, all while he attempted to make sense of his place in the world. Truthfully though, all he had really wanted to do from the start had been to bury himself a hundred feet below the ground and be left to his own devices. Yet, for one reason or another, nobody ever seemed willing to leave the dungeon-building core alone long enough to actually make one. Each chapter will average around two to three thousand words, the release schedule is still a WIP but you should expect the first six chapters to be released over the next six days. This is planned out as a dungeon building fiction, but don't expect it right off the bat! The story is a depiction of the everyday adventures (alongside an overarching plot) of what I imagine a dungeon core would experience when thrust into a random environment where everything and everyone tried to covet or eat him. I also really enjoy reading the comments and reviews people leave and would love to get some reader involvement with the story itself, likely through polls at the end of each chapter. I hope you enjoy my story! (If you feel like some of the characters seem familiar, you may have read some older work I wrote a while back under a different account. If you happen to be one of my old readers and recognize the similarities, I'm happy to have you back!)
