《Trapped Soul (Completed)》Chapter 9

Chapter 9.
was sitting' in class once more as whispers roamed the classroom and as she got wild stares from half of the class. She didn't know what the deal was and believe it or not Cyn didn't really care, she was done worrying about what other people be thinking 'bout her when she done got shit on her plate. Cyn started thinking on how her birthday was in the next five days and she really didn't have that excitement. As far as her staying' with Rodney wasn't much of a problem, they both had been distant, their conversations were kept to a minimum and simple and she really didn't care if it stays that way cause sooner or later she was out of here.
"Okay class today where learning about trigonometry, which I hope you guys are familiar with cause I won't be staying on this topic very long."
Bullshitter...
"Before we start I'd like you all to know that this is the book that you'll be needing, it only about eighty seven dollars a-" He was cut off by the groaning of many. Cyn started to wonder where in world she was gonna get all that money from, her lil ass job could've barely afford to take care of her so buying this book was out of the question.
"Mr. Brooks?" Ray called getting his attention.
"What Rashawn?" He asked prepared for a smart ass question.
"Does this shit contain gold?" He asked as the class erupted into laughter and Cyn let out a small snicker.
Ignoring Rashawn, Mr. Brooks started drawing angles on the board and cyn really didn't understand what he was doing at all, she stared at it for a mass amount of time before shaking head head, wondering if all of this was really necessary.
"You got that?" He asked and Cyn raised her hand as he then pointed to her.
"Yes Miss Bridges?"
"I don't understand..." Cyn said as he sighed.
"But you did this before-"
"You know what, just forget it alright." He shook his head as Cyn leaned back in the chair and didn't bother to pull out a book or pen, she wasn't really up for arguing with this dude at all, she just couldn't have waited until she could do better for herself.
Class was officially over as Cyn got up grabbing her bag and walked out of the room not waiting for his dismissal, when she got into the hallway she immediately walked towards the exit door as everyone else was trying' to push their way through. She didn't wanna get caught up in all of this knowing that fights break out even when you miss and step on someone's shoe.

She was now outside where kids got picked up and some was on the bus stop waiting for the school bus, she didn't see Travis so she started to walk in the direction of the bus stop, it wasn't a close walk and it wasn't a far one either but complaining wasn't bout to get her there...
When she got to the apartments, she saw the jeep parked up so she knew he was there, for some reason she hurriedly got up the stairs and started to bang on the door.
"Who's there?" Cyn heard Rodney's voice boom on the other side.
"Cyn." She answered steadying her breath for a bit, it was a while before he came to the door and opened up.
"Hey..."
"Hi." She spoke looking up at him as his face still held its cold emotions.
"Why you breathing so hard?" He asked looking' outside both ways.
Not answering him, Cyn walked inside and immediately stopped in her tracks when she noticed the male and female sitting on the couch, she looked at Rodney and she looked back at them.
"I got homework so...." She lied trying to not make it as awkward as it already was, the female kept her eyes elsewhere as Cyn noticed the black eye, but you could've tell that she was beautiful, she had long jet black hair and was caramelized in skin tone, she didn't look happy, not one bit. Cyn knew she was envied by many and to be real she looked no older than Cyn was maybe younger even.
Pushing her thoughts aside, Cyn walked to the room that she was staying at and began to strip out of her hot clothes and into some cool ones, she pulled all of her materials out of her bag and pulled out the book that she was reading. Mind you it wasn't bad, but something about it was really shady, Cyn flung her body across the bed and figured that she'd start where she'd had finished off.......
Cyn didn't like the fact that the book was relatable, she didn't like the fact that it hit her deep, she was easily bothered; yet this book still held her in captivity. To Cyn's dismay she hadn't even expect herself to be drawn to such 'uninteresting' theme, but she was wrong; she was wrong big time.
Cyn felt her heavy eyelids open slowly as she realized that she had fallen asleep, she slowly lifted her head seeing all her books scattered about the bed.

Bam! Bam! Bam!
"I'm comin' damn it." Cyn groaned in annoyance before fully getting up and walking over to the door, she unlocked it and pulled it open revealing the girl from earlier.
"...Hi." Cyn said lookin' at her confused.
"Uh hey, Rodney told me to tell you that if some one called not to answer and to hold this until he came back." She said looking down and handing Cyn a key.
"Where is he?" She asked.
"Him and Tay left to go handle somethin', I really don't know." She said.
Cyn didn't know what to do as of this point on whether to close the door or not, she watched as the girl was about to turn on her heels and she suddenly stopped her.
"Come in..." She said as she looked back at Cyn and she backed aside letting her in, she took a glimpse around the room as Cyn started to clean up the mess off of the bed.
"You can sit...Uhh-"
"Jade." She said finishing off, Cyn nodded as she took a seat on the bed.
"So, you in your junior year?" She asked lookin' at Cyn's books.
"Nah, senior." Cyn spoke as she nodded.
"How 'bout you?" Cyn asked she looked up at her and bit her lips.
"Um, I don't- I don't go to school." She said as Cyn raised her brow but not for Jade to notice.
"Your done?" She asked and Jade shook her head no.
"Nah, I barely started I'm only seventeen." She chuckled trying to make seems as if it's not as bad as it was.
"Oh. How come I've never seen you around here?" Cyn asked really taking it into thought.
"I'm not from here I'm from Delaware, my boyfriend just came to get some stuff settled out with Rodney." She said as Cyn nodded.
After that they didn't talk as much, Cyn knew that she wasn't the type to share much and Cyn respected that knowing she was the same, the girl was putting up a façade ain't no fault in that, but Cyn could've seen the mess that she was going through, and even the blind would've noticed.
Two broken souls lingered among one another, stories different but pain; not so much. Thinking about everything that she had went through; Cyn figured she was built for this. She figured that she was built for this rugged absurd mess called life. She felt as she was just built to be torn down.
Later on that night Rodney them came back and soon Jade left. Him and Cyn just made small talk and nothing much was said although Cyn felt like something needed to. For a while it was real quiet until she got up and went inside the kitchen to get something to eat.
She took the cereal off of the refrigerator and made herself a bowl, she put the bag back inside of the box shoving it back on the refrigerator.
"What are doin'?" Cyn turned around confusingly before facing Lay who was leaning against the counter top.
"Makin' me somethin' to eat, can't you see?" Cyn spoke going into the fridge getting the milk.
"Listen bitch, I ain't no where Rodney picked your old raggedy ass up from but let me set somethin' straight with you, Rodney is my man, alright. If you even think you stand a chance take it out your head baby girl cause you not shit." She said pursing her lips as Cyn smacked hers.
"So you think cause you fuckin' him you got some stripes, bitch please the only reason your 'round is cause Rodney needs a lil ass squeeze every now and then y-"
"Are you mad cause you'll never be that squeeze lil' girl?" She said as Cyn's mouth closed.
"Listen baby girl, stay in your lil ass corner alright, you ain't know nothin' bout these street niggas and bout this life so keep to yourself..." She said turning on her heels disappearing down the hall....
Cyn wasn't lost for words, not at all but what surprised her was the fact that she only was Rodney's toy and she was comfortable with it.
Cyn had learned a lot in her seventeen years of living and it really was at the fact that people would gain all they have to get nothing in return, she wasn't bothered by it though, maybe of the fact being that it wasn't her or that she just naturally didn't care, but to each is own....

Crimson Gloom
Crimson Gloom. The time when the moon turns crimson, illuminating the landscape with its crimson glow. The time when the ‘doors’ to the Crimson Abyss open. One shall gaze into the abyss and gain its secrets and powers. Concurrently, the abyss also gazes into oneself, gaining one’s sanity and humanity. Dimensional rifts appeared spontaneously on Earth, bringing otherworldly demons along with the Crimson Gloom. Bloody battles were fought, noble sacrifices were made. Humans eventually sealed the rifts and successfully defended their homeworld. Alas, the seals were not perfect. The Crimson Abyss continued to exist, slowly influencing Earth and its inhabitants. Half a century of relatively uneventful years passed… humanity slowly descended into corruption, and the majority of them knew nothing of the effects of the Crimson Abyss. Is there only the dreadful gloom left to the world? Can one find brightness in the increasingly gloomy world? The youth who had gazed into the Crimson Abyss had no answer, nor did he care. He only wanted the Crimson Gloom to end, to forever seal the Crimson Abyss. A mistake and a twist of fate led the youth into a seemingly totally different direction. Will he forget his lifelong goal? Will he instead step back onto his initial path that he fervently pursued? Disclaimer: I do not own the image on the cover. Image edited on canva.com.
