“Why you trying to make my house the location for World War III?” Micheal laughed.

“Naw, I just want to see how serious Terry is.” Janet responded.

“I got one question, why the hell do you care if he serious or not? OK, he apologized, ok, he wants to feel like he ain’t the asshole that he acted like. Why do you care?” Laura said.

“You just don’t understand. We have been through so much together.”

“So this is a trial run to see if you are going to get back with him?” Steve asked.

“That is not my plan.”

“Well, I ain’t gonna be walking on egg shells.” Steve Continued.

“I don’t want you to, in fact all of you, just be yourself, let’s see what happens.”

“I just got my carpet cleaned so don’t throw nothing on it.” Micheal laughed while shouting.

Right then there was a knock at the door.

“Speaking of the devil,” Ashley said.

Laura opened the door and sure enough it was Terry. She left the door opened and walked away from the door.

“Hello.” Terry said meekly.

“What up.” Micheal said.

Everyone else just looked at Terry and said nothing.

“OK, I get it, I’m the whipping boy today, I know it and I deserve it. Who wants to go first?”

Terry walked in and shut the door.

Steve started singing the tune to a popular game show and then said, “So you screwed your fiance’s friend. Our contestant today is Terry.”

Then Laura asked, “I just want to know why are you here, personally, I think that Terry should thank her lucky stars you didn’t give her some disease and cut you loose.”

“OK…I can respect that.” Terry said. “But you ain’t never made no mistake? How about you Ashley, didn’t you try to sleep with Michael?”

“Now hold on…” Ashley said

“That ain’t what this is about Terry, this is about you and me and what you did.” Janet said.

“I apologize, I just mean that we all make mistakes, come on dog, you can’t tell me that you ain’t never cheated on a woman and wish you hadn’t.” Terry said to Michael.

Laura looked at Michael. “I understand what you are trying to do. I even respect it on some level. But that just was messed up. And at some point you gotta just move on and be a better man for someone else.” Michael said.

“I can feel that, but what if you knew that she was the one for you. Your soulmate. What if you knew this was the one that God created for you?”

“I know you ain’t talking about God.” Ashley interrupted.

“God forgives…”

“Forgiveness is one thing, taking you back is another thing altogether.”

“My time away from you has given me added perspective. Baby, I can’t live without you and…and…I’m just gonna do it.”

Terry pulled a ring out of pocket.

“OOOHHHHHH.” Someone yelled.

Terry said, “I came here to get my girl, you brought me here to see if I would come and receive the ire of your posse. I am taking it, and I will continue to take it. But I want to ask you…”

“Get up off the ground and take your ring, no way in hell we there yet.” Penny said.

“Yet?” Terry said.

“Read whatever the hell you want to read into it, but you ain’t gonna just whip out a ring and think I’m gonna fall into your arms.”

“Let me ask you this, why did you bring me here?”

“I don’t know, maybe I wanted to see Michael and Steve kick your trifling ass for…”

Janet broke out crying.

“How could you do me like that?” Ashley came over consoled Janet.

“I think you aughta go.” Michael said to Terry.

“I thought we were gonna play cards, we can do that.”

Janet calmed down and said, “No, I shouldn’t have invited you and you probably should go.”

“Well, I understand, I am going, but Janet, you need to know that I am not gonna leave you, I will continue to be there, because I am gonna win you back.”

“Naw dog, you gonna leave her alone or I’m gonna kick your ass.” Steve said.

“Is this who you dating?” Terry asked.

Steve started shaking his head but Janet said, “Yes, this is my man, and if I were you I would back off.”

Terry laughed, “No way, this ain’t your type. Corny white dude’s ain’t your flavor.”

Janet walked over to Steve and pulled him to her. Steve then eased in and they kissed. First it was a dry kiss, but then Steve allowed his tongue to roam in Janet’s mouth. The heat level started to raise as Steve’s hand began to traverse Janet’s curves.

Steve’s hand reached Janet’s behind as he gave it a gentle squeeze. The facade started to become real as Janet’s hand started to finger through Steve’s hair.

Their embrace tightened and Janet felt Steve’s growing erection. She eased on him to continue the growing. Janet’s nipples grew stiff and thrust against her blouse as she continued to be caught up in the moment.

Michael, Ashley, Terry, and Laura just gawked as the kiss continued.

“Get your hands off my fiance.” Terry said.

Janet turned to the side and looked at Terry, “See this is my man now.”

“Well Steve, you better get ready for a fight because I will win her back.” Terry said.

“I think you should go.” Michael said.

Terry walked out the door.

Ashley looked at Janet and said, “So when did you two start dating.”

“Come on that was just for Terry’s benefit, come on, that’s Steve.”

“It sure looked to me like something is going on. Looking at you two made me want to take Laura to the back room right now.” Michael joked.

Steve smiled awkwardly. “Let’s just play some cards.”

“That’s why we here, to play some cards.” Ashley said.

They then played a few hands before going their separate ways.
