《My Best Friend》Chapter 1 ~ My Best Friend

"Mama like," I giggled as my boytoy Aries kissed me on my neck. Aries Wilson, a chocolate god to the umpteenth power was making me hot. He had surprised me by coming into town a day early to do a television interview promoting his high school football camp in Baton Rouge. He stopped by with a bouquet of roses and wine last night and one thing led to another.
"Baby I so missed this," he said kissing me behind my ear. His hands roamed up and down my body and I chuckled as he whispered against my skin. This man had an insatiable appetite and I would sacrifice my body for his pleasure.
Aries was the whole package. He was intelligent, smoking hot, rich and could make me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. He stood a little over six and a half feet tall, he was lean with thick muscles and a bald head women went crazy over.
I could hear my phone ringing on the nightstand and I knew exactly who it was. Only one person had that ringtone, Lean On Me, by Club Nouveau.
"Don't you even think about picking up that phone Liz," Aries said through gritted teeth. We had been going at it for at least forty-five minutes. Hell who was counting though because what he was giving me, the house could be on fire and I wouldn't move. The phone rang again alerting me of a text message.
Aries and I continued on and my phone wouldn't stop ringing or buzzing. It continued and Aries picked it up and threw it across the room and it went silent.
"Boy you done lost ya mind?!" I said turning around. "That damn phone was over six-hundred dollars and it's used as a work phone plus I am on emergency hospital call."
"I will buy you a case of them."
"That's not the point!" I said releasing myself from his grip and I could slowly feel my rage slipping in. The cost of that phone was pocket change to him, but I worked hard for that phone. Hell he wasn't still paying medical school loans off, I was.
"Don't you dare do this to me...ah damn it!," he said rolling off the bed. He grabbed his pants off the floor and walked into my bathroom and slammed the door causing me to jump. I eased out the bed and tripped over my tennis shoe from the night before causing me to fall.
"What the hell?" I said hitting my knee on the nightstand and falling face first into the carpet.
He had to go messing up a good thing by tossing my phone away. Why people couldn't just leave your stuff alone? I crawled to where my phone was laying in the corner trying not to trip over the sheet. I grabbed it and sighed a breath of relief that it wasn't broken. I saw four text messages alerting me that I needed to call my best friend, Sean. He also left me two voicemails. I swiped my finger across the bar and listened to the first voice message.
"Liz pick-up the damn phone. I know you are at home. I need to talk to you." I deleted the message and moved on to the second one.
"Elizabeth Sinclair Johnson answer this phone before (hiccup)...before I...(hiccup)...ah man I just spilled my drink. Lizzy please answer. You the only (hiccup) woman that I think loves me...besides my mama that loves me only when I send her...a check. Girl, I'm begging you to pick up...the phone."

I couldn't help but laugh at that one... wait...was he crying in the background on that last part?
I rested my head against the wall. This boy was going to be the death of me one day. He was lucky he was my best friend since birth.
You see Sean Patrick Gipson and I were born on the same day December 16, 1985, two hours apart and our parents were next door neighbors in Mall City, a poverty stricken part of town in Baton Rouge. You can say we grew up like brother and sister. The only difference was that he was Caucasian with green eyes and blondish-brown hair and I was what people call Creole with brown eyes and sandy brown hair.
Sean and I attended the same public schools and university until he went pro and I went to medical school. We had always been there for one another through good and bad times and vowed that we would always look out for one another.
Our parents use to call use twins because you never saw one without the other. He played football all during school and now he was the quarterback for the Los Angeles Panthers while I'm an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine in Baton Rouge. I looked down at the four text messages on the screen.
1
Lizzy pickkkkk upppppp, I need you.
2
....pretty please....with chocolate covered strawberries on top... Your favorite.
3
I love you Lizzy bear, why won't you answer?📞
4
You killing me softly boo....(silence)

I shook my head. Did he just text the lyrics to New Edition's, Mr. Telephone Man? Whatever was wrong he was going to the extremes. I looked at my bathroom door and I heard the shower running. Could I recoup from earlier with Aries or should I call it a lost? It had been over a month since your girl had a little something something and my vibrator needed batteries.
I raised up and brushed my hair back. Mama had needs and it wasn't often they were met. Although Aries was the only man I was sleeping with, we were just friends with benefits as we hadn't established any type of monogamous relationship between us and it was football season.
I tossed the phone on the bed and headed to the bathroom. I could hear my phone going off again and I knew it was Sean. My mind was saying answer it but my body was saying don't do it. I looked at the door and ran to the phone.
"I swear you better be having a heart-attack Sean!"
"Liz, Shuntae broke my heart, she was cheating on me and I loveadit that girl." (hiccup)
"Well what do you expect? You attract gold digging hoes. You have all this money and fame and you hook up with nappy-headed rugrats."
"She wasn't always like that. She bought some Malaysian hair so it was real silky, I know because I bought it along with the Jimmy Choos, Prada handbag and Gucci sunshades. She had an ass that could move mountains. Like BBD say, "never trust a big butt and a smile." I caught her cheating with her drug dealing ex. What am I going to do, Lizzy Bear?"
"Get your stuff back, kick her to the curb and find someone else that will be faithful and good enough for you."
"You're right. I need a good woman, someone to hold me down."

"Well keep looking, but I gotta go, love you bye."
"Wait..."
"WHAT!"
"I'm being honored for my community service at this gala coming up next month and I need a date. Want to go?"
"Fine but I have to go Sean!"
"Aries is there isn't he? I heard he had a football camp this weekend that's why you rushing me off the phone."
I blew out a deep breath and looked at the closed door. "Yes he is and you're drunk."
"Whether I'm drunk or not he's not right for you Lizzy. He's a tru playa and womanizer. I can't figure out what you see in that pinhead. I know you can't be that hard up for a man?"
"That's not nice to talk about people you really don't know. He's a good guy if you would give him a chance. Thanks so much for your intuitive observations, I am fully aware that he maybe a playa, but he doesn't have a pinhead so if you don't mind I got to get back to getting my groove on. I will talk to you later and text me the information," I said hanging up.
My phone rang again and I ignored it. Sean couldn't stand Aries and vice versa. Aries played for the Atlanta Vikings as a running back, the team that beat Sean's in the Superbowl last year.
I walked into the bathroom and let the sheet fall from my body. I opened the shower door and eased in behind Aries wrapping my arms around his waist. I kissed him along his back and rubbed my hands up and down his hips.
"You smell like apricots," I teased.
"Does the smell turn you on?" He asked putting the shower gel up.
"I admit you wear it well."
I heard him chuckle and he turned around. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer to me.
"So what did he want?"
"You sound jealous."
"It never fails every time you and I are together he calls with drama. It's almost likes he knows I'm here. I know he's your best friend and all but I wouldn't be surprised if he was in love with you."
"We are like brother and sister. We love each other but it's not like a girlfriend/boyfriend type of deal."
"I hope not because I am going to kick his ass in two months when we meet on the field."
"Maybe I should come to keep you two out of trouble."
"You should. We can have dinner, have some alone time and you can even stay at my place."
"Oh sounds nice," I said kissing him on his muscular chest.
Although Aries was tall, I was almost six feet so I didn't have to strain to kiss him. I kissed my way down his stomach while he blocked the water coming down off his shoulders.
"You definitely know how to make a man curl his toes. Come here and let me show you how much I've missed you," he said pulling me up and kissing me on the neck. I could feel my body getting heated up as I jumped in his arms and he leaned me against the shower wall.
My body shivered. I may not have loved him but I loved how he made me feel.
"Your kisses are like sunshine," he whispered against my lip.
"No talking and show me how much you miss me," I said giggling against his lips.
Aries and I had met about a year ago at the annual Super Bowl party in San Diego where his team won. I was there to support Sean, but waiting for him after his interview I met Aries. I wasn't a big football fan so I had no clue who Aries was. I had heard his name a few times but thought nothing of it. I thought he was cute so I bought him a drink which ended up with us talking for awhile. We had so much in common that we just seemed to hit it off and for the last six months we had been having sex with no strings attached.
I opened my eyes to look into his dark chocolate puddles twitching as he turned it up and had me hearing angels singing Hallelujah. It didn't take long before I was trembling in his arms.
"I wish... nevermind," he said and stopped.
"What?" I asked breathless. I swear the heat from the water and what we just did had me about to faint. My body was hot and red blotches had started to form on my arms and legs. My hair was curling up from the heat and I sat on the bench seat behind us.
"What were you going to say Aries?" I asked fanning myself. Did it get hotter in here?
"Come here," he said reaching out his hand.
I took his hand and he soaped up the loofa. "I'm sorry for throwing your phone. It was wrong of me to do it. I hope you can accept my apology?"
"I forgive you this time. Just FYI I wasn't going to answer it. The time we spend together equates to less than a month in a year so with that said, I got to get all I can while I can."
He bent down and kissed me. He smiled that one-hundred watt smile and began to soap me up and it felt good. He ran the loofa across my body and I could feel myself getting turned on all over again. I rinsed off and he washed my hair. His fingers massaged my scalp causing me to close my eyes enjoying the feel.
"Ahhhhh I likely like." He continued to cater to me. He dried me off and we headed to my room where we put on our clothes and I sat on the bed.
"I love when you wash my hair and wash your dirtiness off me," I said putting on my scrubs. I was on call and had a few patients to round on.
"So I'm dirty?"
"Yes, especially that tongue and I wouldn't have it any other way," I said walking up to him and he gave me a kiss. Why couldn't I keep my hands off of him?
"I got to get to work but I left the spare key on the kitchen counter and there is some left over baked chicken, corn and salad in the refrigerator. Will I see you tonight as I should be home around midnight?"
"So you trust me to stay?"
"As long as you don't bring any other women in here. I can't afford a charge."
He shook his head and slapped me on my bottom walking into the kitchen.
"Don't start none won't be none," I said grabbing my purse.
"English please? How does someone who graduated top of their class in medical school, residency and fellowship still talk hood?"
"I am from the hood just like you, have you forgotten?" I saw a strange look on his face. "I'm sorry." I cleared my throat.
"Please do not hit my gluteus maximus because it causes friction that vibrates to my clitoris. The friction causes spasms and chemicals to release which causes my endorphins to go crazy. It messes with my vagina, brain and other places that I won't describe. So if you don't hit me on the buttocks those things won't happen and I will be just fine."
He folded his arms and shook his head. "You don't have to be a smart ass and that wasn't sexy."
"Then make up your mind. What you see is what you get. You should know by now I don't put on airs for anyone. I promise if you took me out in public I would behave, but when I'm home, I can be myself which at times is ghetto fabulous, but I can adapt to any environment or situation."
"If you say so. What am I going to do with you?" He asked breaking into laughter.
"You can start by giving me a goodbye kiss, that will last until I see you tonight."
He grinned and pulled me into his arms and laid one on me. I had to fan myself to keep from falling.
"Good enough," he asked grinning from ear to ear knowing it was perfect.
"It will do," I said teasing him and grabbing my car keys. I looked back and opened the door.
"Don't you have an interview starting in thirty minutes?"
He shook his head yes but his eyes trailed down to the huge erection he was rocking.
"Poor baby. See ya!" I said running out the door and locking the deadbolt.
He stood inches behind the glass door mouthing, "it's on tonight," pointing at me and then him. I laughed and got in my car. He was right, it would be on tonight because he was only here for three days and I was going to rock his world.
