《A beautiful mistake》40

Silence. She bit her nails, ignoring everything in the room. Phone calls. Lots of phone calls were being made, all of them ending with, 'Have you seen Seth?'
Tears brimmed her eyes and some of them fell on her already puffy cheeks. It was her fault. No, the more she thought about it, it was no one's faults but his! He was supposed to pick him up and instead? Their son had been kidnapped waiting for Roman to show up. He was all alone watching the other kids go home!
Mrs Cervantes! I-It all happened so fast! Seth's teacher had called her from work.
What happened? Is there something wrong with Seth?
Mikaella panicked.
I was walking to my car when I saw your son. He said no one picked him up. T-that you must have been busy so I offered to take him home. My car... We were walking to my car, when they showed up and then. I-I can't remember. They knocked me out. I-i'm sorry ma'am
W-what? Who knocked you out?! Where's my son?! Where is my son?!
Gustavo brought the freshly made latte for her but she dismissed it with just a wave of her hand. She couldn't stomach anything at the moment. What cruel monsters could have taken her son?
Everyone in the room approached her, some giving her reassuring words but nothing at the moment would calm her nerves.
"Mikaella,"someone called from the little crowd that had gathered in the station.
She stood up and searched for his voice in hope that his voice would bear some good news.
"Marcus! Any news? Have you found my son? Where's my son, Marcus?"
She got her answer when Marcus hung his head low unable to look at her directly in her eyes.
"I'm sorry, Mick. The witnesses say that the vehicle's plate number was obscured with mud. Some say they hadn't seen the vehicle that took him around the school before. At this point, we have no leads. We'll just have to sit and wait for them to-"

"To ask for ransom? To wait until they have tortured my son enough! What sort of cops are you huh?"
She raised her voice, her nose red, tears streaming down her face like they had for the last one hour.
"Mikaella calm down. Everything's gonna be okay,"Chloe spoke out with Kevin right behind her.
"How is everything going to be okay when none of you cares? When none of you feel how do? My son. My son is out there in some lunatic's hands and you expect me to calm down?"
Marcus stepped forward taking her shaking hands into his.
"Hey, everyone in this room is as concerned as you. We must work together to find him,"then he paused momentarily and hauled her to his chest.
She desperately clinged to his shoulders crying like crazy. Marcus rubbed circles behind her back and that made her calm down a bit. A shoulder to cry on was what she desperately needed but more so she needed him to be there. But he wasn't and that cut her heart deeper. At this moment, she didn't want Roman here, she didn't want to see his face. He was to blame and although her heart tried to defend him, her logic won.
He prioritized work more than he did his son and nothing in this world would change that.
"You sick bastard!"
And the star of the show growled, everyone including his parents turning around to see him.
Marcus and Mikaella parted from the embrace watching an angry Roman storm to where they stood.
"You did this! My son! Hurt me, leave my son out of it"
And Kevin stood between him and Marcus keeping a tight gap between both men incase a fight ensued.
"Calm down, bro. We are all pissed by the situation and blaming innocent people isn't going to solve anything"

He took two step backwards laughed maniacally,"Innocent. He's the fucking devil!"
"Roman, you have to calm do-"
Kevin tried to intervene but Mikael stepped forward wiping her tears.
"No, Kevin. Let him talk! Let the almighty Roman talk! Let him blame others when this is absolutely his fault. You are to blame for our son's disappearance!"
She lashed out, unbothered that his grey eyes went wide in surprise, unbothered that everyone looked at her like an alien.
"Mick...I-I,"he stuttered for the first time her husband lacked words.
"You failed as a father and if you are done being a dick, I suggest you try to help or get your ass out!"
And silence once more engulfed the little station, each one lacking words to say. Mikaella went back to standing at the furthest corner groping her phone tightly.
Gustavo and Raquel stood by the counter watching Mick too afraid to leave her by herself. Chloe left minutes later with Kimberly while Jacob and Debra insisted on staying put while Kevin and a shaken Roman stood waiting for any news. Anything. Anything about his little boy.
Marcus' phone rang out loud and he picked it up,
"Colt. Found anything?"
"Okay. Thanks, man"
"What? Any news?" Mikaella asked.
"A man in Midview, a mile away from here, was seen carrying a small boy that matches Seth's description. They have his house surrounded. I have to be there"
"I'm going to"
"Mikaella it's too dangerous. Perhaps we don't know how screwed up this Phil Radoll is"
"Phil Radoll?Phil has my son?"

Death Cultivator (Cultivator in Another World Vol. I & II)
Fight for your Soul. New cultivator Grady Hake thought his problems would disappear when he became a member of the strongest gang on the prison planet, but all it did was thrust him into the kill-or-be-killed world of the Eight-Legged Dragons. Now if he wants to survive, he’ll have to learn to cloak his deadly Spirit attacks in shadow, control the ancient revenant trying to take over his mind, and defeat the Angel of Death who dropped him on Van Diemann in the first place. Death Cultivator is sci-fi / isekai / wuxia / western / whatever, sort of like Borderlands meets Hunter x Hunter. I wanted to write something entertaining and actiony with that shonen vibe, so here's hoping this hits the spot. Warning: This isn't an isekai where the MC immediately becomes OP and starts revenge-killing everyone once he gets Death powers. Death is coming, but it's a slow burn. Like some of the reviewers for Volume I mentioned, the MC has a past and it effects his actions and choices in the new world.
