《Transmigrated Into A Blind Woman's Body》Chapter 2

"Father, what is wrong with the soil?" Lin Ning never had much to do nowadays, so asking her father about it would not seem like such a bad idea. 'Everything is going according to the novel, so it seems to make things a little more predictable for me.' Lin Ning felt glad that she was able to finish the novel before she got into that incident.
"Well, the land has been in the dry season for quite some time. It is hard for us to get more rain as it all depends." Her father seemed stressed with the topic which she wished to help him with just a bit if she could. 'The land will get harder and harder to maintain if we do not get any rain soon. If we do not find a solution, then I fear that it will get harder and harder for us.' Not wanting to think about his wife and daughter in poverty if they did not have anything else to live up on.
"Father, I know that you will be able to resolve this." Taking a hold of her father's hand, she held a gentle smile towards him even though she could not see his face. "Since the soil has been dry for some time, then I believe that you can try to plant certain vegetables that do not require a lot of water. Once the rain comes, then you can perhaps have people or even giant pots laid out for the rain water to go inside so that it will be easier for water if needed." Lin Ning only wanted to help her father just a bit, but he found that it was a marvelous idea which he hugged his daughter to see that she was a genius.

"My Ning'er is so smart! There is no way that I will ever be able to see you married off!!!" He said out loud, making Lin Ning's mother hit him on the arm. 'My daughter is simply too smart to get married! Which man will have the guts to come and ask me!' Feeling that he needed to keep his daughter safe away from all the dangers of the real world. The only real monsters that he saw out there were the men who would take advantage of his lovely daughter.
"Hey, we do not want her to become a spinster." His wife was upset that he would say that which had Lin Ning laugh at how her parents were acting. Seeing that their emotions were happy and joyous, she could not help but feel happy as well. Their colors were emitting yellow which made her happy to know that colors were enough for her to know about how people felt around her since it was not easy to see the colors so easily if they were truly expressed in front of her.
"I love you, Father. I love you too, Mother." Hugging them both, she could not understand how she was lucky to have these people in her second life. Not only that, but she knew that it would rain soon since it was said in the novel that the rain would come once it was the Empress Dowager's birthday. 'Oh, I almost forgot that this is the first part of where everything gets interesting. I must be there to listen in!!!' Lin Ning was going to take advantage of this and try to have one of those 'front seats' even though she could not see it, but listening was enough for her to experience. "Father, is there anything special that is going to be held soon at the palace?" Asking him, she wanted to see if she would be allowed to go there with both of her parents if she could.

"Now that you mentioned it, the Empress Dowager's birthday is coming up. Did you want to go?" He asked his innocent daughter to eat the peeled oranges placed in front of her.
"En! I want to go with my father and mother!" Saying that, she smiled to see that both of her parents did not seem to mind her coming along, but the only issue was when the other families spoke ill about their daughter who was blind. "I do not care what anyone says about me being blind. Just because I was born without sight does not mean that I was not born with my other senses." Lin Ning always knew how to make her parents happy again when they struggled with her eyes.
"You are right. We will go there and show them that you are not someone who will be pushed around easily!" Her father said, loudly once more which just made her mother embarrassed to see how she married such a loud man.
"Mother, do not worry. You and father are the cutest couple that I have ever seen. Do not even let your love falter." Lin Ning did not want to see her parents ever split.
"Don't worry. Your mother is the only one for me. She was the first woman that will always be in my heart. You will know when you fall in love with someone at first glance then you will always love them forever." Hearing her father say that, it made her glad that her father fell in love with her mother.
"Alright, we've been out here all day. Let's find something to eat for lunch other than oranges, and then we can go out to get you some tailored clothes for Empress Dowager's birthday." Her mother had them all eat and once they had finished, then it was as her mother said. They had gone out to get new clothes for when they went to the event. Wearing a beautifully veiled hat, not allowing anyone to see her face if they were to know that she was blind then it would be troublesome for her parents. Hearing her mother and father talk about the hanfu for her to wear, Lin Ning somehow sensed something nearby that was seeking help with a color of grey. Following where it was coming from, it had taken her to an alleyway that she did not know that she had gone to.
"Who are you?" Hearing a man's voice, she turned to face where the voice was. Sensing that the cry for help was coming from him.

He said to me, wiping away more of my tears while I was too distracted by the explosion of flavour in my mouth.I rubbed my irritated eyes and he fed me another kiwi slice. It tasted good but it made my body shiver a little from the little sting it had in its taste."Is it too sour? Sorry about that." He chuckled, gently raking his fingers through my hair as I relaxed a little.I wanted more. I liked kiwi."You want more?" He asked me.I looked at the kiwi and then at him. He really, really wanted me to talk. He fed me the rest of the kiwi pieces even though he hadn't gotten an answer from me and then he smiled."All done." He said to me, brushing my hair away from my face with a smile.
