《The Empress' Son》CHAPTER FIVE

Shaking my head, I went back to my room and took a long nap. When I woke up, it was already noon. Jamie went to my room and asked what I wanted to eat, and so I told her I wanted a sandwich.
I may be 5 but I'm still older in the inside.
"Hyung!" The door bursted open and there revealed my hell of a brother who came rushing to my side.
"Klydeur?" I was taken a back when he hugged me tight. "Hey, what's wrong?"
"Hyung, is it true?" Klydeur looked at me with teary eyes. "Is it true that mom is a murderer?"
My mind went blank for a moment. I heard about the massacre earlier from the maids, but I never knew he heard it too. "Klydeur," I held both his shoulder. "Clydeur doesn't know, but what made you think that she is a murderer?"
"I-I heard the maids. Klyde didn't mean to eavesdrop."
I suppressed my grin. So we are indeed twins. "Clydeur knows that she won't kill. They must be rumors to ruin her reputation."
Klydeur nodded his head. "O-okay," a moment of silence blew before Jamie entered.
"Here's the food your high-" she stopped when she saw Klydeur in my room. "-ness... would you like another sandwich?"
"Sure. Thanks Jamie!" I smiled as she left the room. "You can stay here and eat sandwich with me."
His eyes twinkled in joy. "Really, hyung?"
I nodded. He squealed before embracing me into a tight and suffocating hug.
Okay, okay, this guy maybe be cute but he's also dangerous.
When Jamie returned, Klydeur and I ate our sandwich and he started talking about something I didn't know that he knows. About the Emperors which I didn't bother knowing and I was just like, "Oh really?", "Wow.", "That's cool.", "Okay?" and "I'm not interested."
"And did you know that the royals and the people from the bloodline of the Emperors have unique powers?" Klydeur asked while I'm drinking water, which made me almost spit the water directly to him.

I coughed for dear life as he patted my back. "Cly.. Hyung, are you okay?"
"I-I'm fine." I told him flatly, before regaining my composure. "Go ahead, continue."
He looks hesitant at first, but then he gave in. "Okay.. about the unique power. The Royal Family from our neighboring continent, the Caners, have their unique power locked on a ring they pass unto the Emperors and Empresses from generation to generation."
"What power does it bear?" I asked, quite interested.
Klydeur smiled as it seems he's happy to get my attention. "The ring gives them protection from any harm. Be it physical or from magic."
I fell into deep thoughts. If what he is saying is true, how come that our mother in this world, the Empress herself, is able to massacre the whole Royal Family Caner?
"While in our bloodline, our unique power is indeed unique," he says with a bright smile. "Mom has silver eyes. Klydeur and Hyung also has them. But it isn't just by the color."
"How come that is unique?"
Flashing a smile, he pointed his eyes. "Our silver eyes looks like a silver orb stone."
I stared at his eyes with my hand on my chin. His words are true, our eyes are indeed unique not just by its color but by its appearance as well.
"That's all that I know for now," Klydeur pointed at me, making me raise a brow. "It's hyung's turn now."
I pointed myself. "Me?" Glancing towards the maids who took our plates, they seem to be listening to our conversation, looking at us every now and then. I leaned back at the couch with a sigh. "I guess it won't hurt then."
"Yey!" Klydeur squealed happily.
I huffed. I was hoping he'd explain more about how unique our eyes is, or what is the power of the Imperial family. But what do I even expect from a kid when I, mentally adult, don't know a thing?

"What do you want to know anyways?" I asked.
He crossed his arms, eyes staring down the table. He then lifted his head, looking at me with a smile. "Mom!"
My eyebrows furrowed, but then I sighed. "Okay, let's start little by little." I crossed my arms. "She is the very first independent Empress of this kingdom."
"Hyung, I already know that."
I felt a vein popped in my forehead. "Let me finish, will ya?" I asked back, and so he nodded. "Aren't you curious about our father's name nor identity?"
Klydeur seems aghast, he seem to froze from his spot. "Why.. hyung, do you know who papa is? If mom's the Empress, dad should be the Emperor."
Ah, what an innocent child.
"I have no idea, but I'm just confused." I held my chin with a wondering look. "If our mom is a Vermillion, which is the last name for the Imperial family, father would surely have a different last name. Yet why did we still have our mother's last name?"
He tilted his head. "Maybe they have the same last name?"
I shrugged. "It's true that there are scenarios where they marry their own relatives. But I doubt it." Since I know it clearly from my memories.
"Then...if it's not the Emperor, is he noble?"
"Possible." I snapped my fingers at him. "But then, he should be one of the Empress' consort by now. But where is he?"
Klydeur thought hard for a moment. "Because... he's not here?"
I nodded. "Indeed. Either that or maybe he's not married with the Empress." Glancing at the wall, I slowly mumbled. "Or maybe he's dead."
Silence filled the whole room. He was just looking at me and listening to my words silently.
"Is there anything else you want to know?" I asked, changing the topic. I don't know anything else about our father or the Emperor. He shooked his head with a smile.
"Thanks for letting me know those info, hyung." As he drank his water, he stood up and bowed to me. "Klyde will take a walk with nanny now. Bye-bye hyung!"
I waved a hand and forced a small smile as he left my room. Sighing, I stood up from the couch and laid down on my bed, staring outside the window. Unique powers, huh? Maybe just proofs that we belong to the royal bloodline.
But either way, I don't care.
As I felt my eyelids getting heavier, I fell into a deep slumber. Until I realized that I'm having a dream. I was still in the palace, it was already night, and I'm all alone.
"N-nanny? Klydeur?" I called out, but only silence answered me.
Roaming around the world of my dream, I reached the garden. There I saw familiar sillhouttes from afar. A tall male with white hair, his black eyes stared at the back of the female infront of him.
The female was not facing him. Instead, she was staring at me. Her long black hair waved as the wind blew, with her bangs almost covering her silver eyes which glowed in the dark.
They were talking, but I can't hear it. And she doesn't seem to see me, she was just there, standing while staring from afar which is where I am standing.
This is weird.
But then, I opened my eyes as I breathed a deep breath. By chance, that was the best of all dreams I've had with the glimpses of my past. It was uncalled for, but it was a great opportunity to see that event-
I flinched as I quickly sat on my bed, whirling my head towards the owner of the familiar voice.
This can't be...
