《The Empress' Son》CHAPTER EIGHT

Days passed when I first met my mother in this world. Jamie seems pleased to see her visit us from time to time.
And by means of visit, she bothered visiting my white haired twin instead of me.
Another bad news for me, my very companion Kuro was also taken away from me. Jamie told me yesterday that cats which are black can bring bad luck.
Thus, Kuro ended up living in one of our spare rooms in the palace.
What a lucky cat thou. He have these luxuries around and is also taken good care of the maids.
And I'm not against that idea, but what I hate right now is how lonely and pitiful I look today.
Huffing out a sigh, I chose to focus myself on reading a book. I'm aware that Klydeur is a knowledgable boy, so I should do better than him by reading and reading until I learned harder than he did!
"His highness, would you like to come over Klydeur's library?" Jamie asked as she noticed my blazing aura inside my room. "His highness is also there together with the Empress."
I flipped the page of the book I'm reading. "Clydeur's fine here."
"So you don't wish to see them right now?"
I nodded. This should be the right way. The Empress should like my hell of a twin rather than me, and with that, I'll end up executed like it should be.
And after that, it's a happy ending.
Who'll take that bullshit?
"Oh my," I looked up to her and saw Jamie smiling at me like an angel. She walked towards my direction and sat beside me. "Is his highness jealous?"
I blinked my eyes as I quickly shook my head. "No!" The hell, Jamie? Why would I?
"Then what's with the long look?" Jamie asked before engulfing me in an embrace. "Our highness wants attention too. I understand that."
All I want is peace so please leave.
But I felt more comfortable and better than earlier. Atleast, Jamie has been here ever since I was born. She's like my real mother, since she's the one who raised me.
While the Empress herself seems to enjoy herself here in our palace. As if she's playing with toys.

"This is just a friendly opinion, your highness. But you should go to the library," Jamie says as she carried me in her arms. "You might learn a thing or two from Klydeur or even the Empress."
I clutched the book I'm holding into my chest as I heaved out a sigh. Puffing out my cheeks, I nodded. "Okay!"
Jamie chuckled as she pinched my cheek. "Aww! His highness is really a charming prince."
I've got enough compliments for a day.
"Oh, its been awhile Jamie." The Empress greeted as we walked inside the library.
Jamie bowed down as always. "May time make haste to the Vermillion Empire." She then straightened her posture and smiled. "Your majesty, would you like to have the prince for a moment?"
I whirled my head to look at her. This isn't what she told me earlier! She promised to stay with me too, and now she's dumping me?!
I'm seriously hurt.
I've been betrayed.
"Hm," the Empress held her chin, as if deciding whether to let me or not. Glancing at me, then to Klydeur who went silent as he saw me, she then leaned back on the chair. "Very well."
A lightning seem to struck me. "I'm taking my leave now, your highness." Jamie smiled at me before putting me down as she bowed to my mother. "May time make haste to the Vermillion Empire."
Silence filled the library when she went out. Klydeur was seated beside Aureus, and from where I stood, I can clearly see how good looking they both are.
The Empress herself has the beauty that no one can even explain it through words. Beauty is even an understatement. Even thou the other Empresses have blonde hair, pink hair, blue or even colorful hair, black suits Aureus the most with matching silver eyes from our bloodline.
Klydeur himself looks like an angel. More like he is indeed an angel. No wonder why Aureus liked him so much even if he we just look alike as twins.
Such good genes, thanks to Aureus and our dad in this world.
"Clydeur hyung!" Klydeur called out, which made me snap from my thoughts. "Come sit here!"

What am I, a dog?
In the end, I didn't have much choice but to walk over their direction. I sat beside him and he gave me a book which is all about the...
Just what the hell is this!? I don't understand a thing!
"What, don't you know how to read our family language?" Aureus spoke, with a hint of interior motive of insulting me to the bones. "I guess you'll have to familiarize yourself with the symbols and alphabets first."
Klydeur nodded with a smile. "Klyde already knows how to read it! You should learn about it too, hyung!"
Ah, this is seriously annoying.
"Baka otouto."
Klydeur glanced at me, curiousity evident on his face. "Ba-what? Hyung, you know how to speak in Japanese?"
I crossed my arms. "The Japan's language is called Nihongo."
"Really? Then what does that ba-thingy means?"
I almost choked on my own saliva. Right, he doesn't know that, and the meaning is something he also shouldn't know. What should I say then? I shouldn't have even told him a word. Now I'm regretting it.
Glancing at him, my eyes averted towards Aureus whose staring at me blankly, as if trying to kill me for insulting her favorite son.
As if I care.
"Well.. its meaning isn't really that important." I reasoned. But boy, this guy is too persistent!
"I still want to know hyung! Pleaaaase?" He blinked his eyes and it seems to sparkle. If ever the maids are here, they'll squeal and melt to death.
The Empress stood up from her seat as she walked past behind us. Klydeur also clasped his hands together, as if wishing for something to give him. Like a lollipop for example.
But hell, if I told him that it means "stupid brother", my efforts will be in vain! And on top of it, the Empress is here! Sooner or later, I might even get my head chopped off if ever I told him.
I gulped the lump on my throat, debating for my life or dignity. Before I can give him a lie, I felt myself being lifted up. Klydeur's smile faded as he stared at me being carried into the arms of the Empress herself.
Eyes wide, I stared at her. But she was looking at Klydeur. "I had a nice time. I shall take my leave." But before my brother can protest, some of the maids entered, bringing some snacks.
As they bowed down and greeted mother with courtesy, they served the snacks in the table as they stood beside Klydeur. Some of them are glaring at me every once in a while, while Mia is there who smiled at me.
"But mama, Klyde still wanna-"
"I'm leaving." Aureus faced the maids and they all stiffened. "You know what to do."
"Yes, your majesty." They all said in unison before she indeed took her leave, still carrying me with her.
Now I wonder why she took me with her?
Is she..
Is she going to kill me now!?
No! No! No! If ever she'll do that, why bother to go out of the library? But then I remember, there are witnesses so she might go to a well-hidden place before killing me.
Wait, scratch that! I'm overthinking things! But there's still a possibility--still, get out of my head! This day is too boring and probably one of the worst days of my life, and I'll mark this in the calendar as my nearly scheduled demise day.
But what the hell? Why am I thinking this way? I'm being a kid, how embarassing.
"What are you thinking about?" I flinched as the Empress spoke, which brought me back to reality.
I looked at her and smiled. "Clydeur is just thinking.." my small hand reached out to touch her black hair. It was smooth and soft, even thou it looks kinda disheveled. "Mama and I have thesame hair color!"
She glanced at me before blinking her eyes. "Obviously."
A vein must have popped out of my forehead due to her response. But I still chuckled to ease the tension.
"You're quite the chuckling guy huh?"
I quickly nodded. "Yup!" Flashing a bright smile, I added, "Clydeur is! I'm also happy! Very happy! Since mama is here with me!"
This is my last day, I'm telling you.
