《Her Heart Keeper ✔》~ 12 ~

I opened my eyes and looked around. There is nothing around me, and it is pitch black everywhere. I couldn't even find a single trace of light. For a moment, I felt my body go numb. But, how did I come here? I was talking with Sravya and arranging my clothes. After that, I didn't remember anything. A chill ran down my spine as the cool breeze touched me. This darkness is scaring me. It is the same darkness that used to give me solace and warmth every time. But this time, something is strange. I closed my eyes and opened them with the hope that I would vanish from this place. But, I was in the same place.
I clutched the hem of my dupatta tightly in my fists. I got up from the bed and started walking forward slowly with careful steps. I was walking when I heard some feeble voices out of nowhere. I moved forward so that I could hear the voices clearly. I was numb when I listened to what the voices were saying. I closed my ears tightly with my hands and started running so that I could escape from them. I ran until those voices stopped.
I stopped running and sat down, trying to catch my breath. I felt someone beside me. I couldn't see the face because of the darkness. Suddenly that person started touching me in an inappropriate way. By the touch, I can say that it's a man. I tried pushing his hands away. I was feeling weak. But why am I feeling weak all of a sudden? I was pushing his hands away from me and moving away from him, but that man didn't budge and kept on touching my feminine parts. I felt as if leeches were crawling on my skin. I gathered all my energy and gave him a tight slap, then stood up and started running again as far as I could. I ran until my whole body gave up. I want to escape from here. My head started to spin, and everything around me became blurry. For the first time, I couldn't find warmth in the dark.

I felt someone shaking me, and I opened my eyes to witness Avi looking at me with worry. I looked around. I was in our room. That means whatever happened was a dream. That's the worst nightmare I have had till date. I sighed. I needed a warm shower badly to calm my nerves, and I could still feel that man's disgusting touches. I looked at Avi. He was looking at me, tense.
"Are you okay, bunny?" He asked me with concern.
I looked at him. He had frowns on his forehead and was looking tense.
"Yeah, don't worry. I'm fine." I said, as I didn't want him to feel unnecessary tension.
"I can see how fine you are. You know, how I felt when I came to our room and saw you lying lifelessly on our bed. I tried to wake you up many times, but you were not responding. I felt like my world had shattered." His voice cracked at the end.
I hugged him tightly, assuring him and myself that I'm fine. I closed my eyes feeling bliss.
I detached myself and looked at him and told him, "I'm really fine Avi, see I'm sitting infront you. It's just due to stress, my BP levels must have gone down, that's why I've fainted. There is nothing to worry."
"You are literally shivering badly and mumbling something in your sleep. And you want me to believe that you are okay" , he asked me.
There was a brief silence for a moment. All of a sudden he asked me, "Do you get nightmares?"
I became blank for a moment.
"Nightmares, I don't get any nightmares", I said, avoiding his gaze.
This man can easily read my eyes.
"Then, tell the same thing by looking at my face", he said, sternly.
"Umm, I need a shower badly, I will just come." Saying that, I literally ran towards the washroom.
Oh God! Lying to him is so difficult. I escaped today, what about in the future?
"Come fast, amma has sent lunch for both of us", he shouted from outside.

Avi's pov :
Oh God! What should I do with this girl? She sucks badly at lying. I was sleeping peacefully with her in my arms when I felt her shivering badly. I woke up and shook her, she opened her eyes with a jerk. Her face is covered with sweat, and she is looking pale. Looking at her, I felt a pang in my heart.
I closed my eyes and leaned on headboard waiting for her to come out. In these three days, I had noticed in that she was just playing with the food rather than eating. She knows, she is having health issues and even after that she is risking her health. I have to know whether she is using any medication or not.
I was in my thoughts when I heard the door of the washroom opening. I looked at her, she was looking fresh. She took the plate that amma had kept on the side table and sat in front me. She took a morsel, gestured me to open my mouth and started feeding me. Even I started feeding her. None of us talked, we ate our lunch feeding each other silently.
I was busy in admiring her features while she was feeding me. Her thick and long black eye lashes complimenting those big doe chocolate-brown eyes, that pointed nose of hers, those chubby cheeks with a dimple that forms on one side of her face when she laughs, her rosy plump lips, her natural reddish-brown hairs complimenting her honey skin tone. That cute height of hers, the way she blushes when someone teases her, the way she makes those eyes big in surprise, everything about her just makes me fall for her deeply. She perfectly fits in my arms as if she was the missing piece of my life.
I will tell you something, don't say it for her otherwise she will kick me. You know her fingers and feet are so small just like a child's and she hates when someone makes fun of it.
**************
Here Maya was calling him, but he was busy admiring her. She snapped her fingers in front of him, bringing him out of his dream land.
"What?" He asked her.
"What do you mean by what? How many times do I have to call you? Where are you lost?" She said, looking at him in disbelief.
"In you." He said.
She exclaimed, "Huh!"
"I was lost in you", he said, smirking at her.
"Whatever." She said, rolling her eyes, trying her best not to blush.
"You do not need to hide your blush", he said, mischievously.
"I'm not blushing", she said, turning her face aside.

"Bunny, look at me", he said.
I looked at him.
"Do you feel uncomfortable around me?" He asked, looking into my eyes.
What the hell? Why would I feel uncomfortable with him? I looked at him. His eyes held love and concern for me.
I took a deep breath and took his hand in mine and told him, "You can never make me uncomfortable, Avi, not even in your dreams. You know, in fact, I feel safe and protected with you by my side. So don't keep these unnecessary doubts in your mind. It's just new to me, and I need a little time to open myself completely. I hope you understand."
"Okay", he said with a small smile.
I looked at his smiling face. I will never let that smile fade away from your face, Avi, because that smile is the medicine to my pain.
**************
I'm happy that she is opening up to me slowly. I looked at her face. A small smile was playing on her lips. Her happiness is all I need. I will make everything alright, bunny. I may not undo the pain you went through, but I will heal it. I cannot erase all those dreadful memories from your life, but we will create beautiful memories together.
I smiled, looking at her complaining like a child about Arjun. I shook my head in disbelief, looking at this grown-up child in front of me.
Keep smiling and take care ❤
