《Her Broken Soul》CHAPTER 23

The very next morning Ammar took me alone to my favourite hotel for breakfast. I knew that he was still thinking that I was pressurised, I had already tried to convince him but he wasn't on the same page as me. He ordered my favourite Nutella dripping pancakes. He was truly best brother anyone could have.
"Princess, are you sure about this marriage? Okay okay I know you want our happiness but listen to me carefully, it's not about our happiness it's about you and your happiness. Are you getting my point princess?" He said with a concern laced in each word. I quietly nodded and gave him a look of assurance.
"Still, are you happy?" He said and somehow reminded me of last night incident. I again nodded.
"Princess, if he will hurt you, you have to tell us. Are you listening to me? You will not keep quiet just because of family reputation and whatsoever." He said in stern voice. I again nodded and he sighed.
I was afraid that if he would hurt me then I highly doubt that I would survive this time. I was already broken how could he broke me more into pieces? I was already shattered in too much small pieces. My soul was not in acceptance of this whole new marriage scene but this was the only thing I could do to give happiness to people around me.
Then after eating delicious breakfast we went home and got a good scolding for eating from outside which Ammar handled professionally.
Days passed and time swift like a sand from hand. Then a day came which I was dreading but at same time I was ready to face it. My all emotions were mixed up. In morning Maa made me go to parlour even though I didn't want to go but I couldn't let my mother upset on this day because of me. After getting ready, Ammar picked me and hamail from parlour and Allah! my house was a great mess. There was hustle and bustle in whole house. Maa and baba were shouting and then Ammar also joined them. I was praying to Allah that whole this, what my family was doing should be fruitful for them. I never wanted them to dry hurt again because of me.
After a great hustle and bustle, my house was actually looking a house for wedding. His family came, I was inside, khala and Izzah came to meet me and complimented me even though I was not pretty but it might be the power of makeup. All men went with him to mosque nearby but baba stayed to get my consent.

This time, when I said those three words, accepting him as my husband my heart was in my neck. I was praying for every minute I would be with him. Then baba went to mosque. My breath hitched when Izzah's phone rang. Then I could see a joy of happiness on her face and could heard her Mubarak to everyone. I released a breathe I never knew I was holding.
They came home and then hamail and Izzah made me ready again for him. They went outside and I could heard them teasing him. He opened the door and I lowered my eyes quickly. He came inside and closed the door behind. My heart was pounding against my chest. My breath hitched when he put his right hand on my head and recited the dua that Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) told to recite when a man see his wife for first time after nikkah.
After reciting dua , he sat beside me on couch. He was looking at me deeply making me shiver under his stare. I was scared that he might, leave it. I was shivering badly. He took a hold of my shivering hands.
"Are you okay?" He asked in concerned voice. I quietly nodded. My shivering somehow stopped.
"You are looking beautiful." He said and it reminded of Zain's words, he spoked the same words. I swift off these thoughts in disgust.
"Can we offer two rakat's of nafl for us together?" He asked me. I smiled and nodded. It was beautiful thing and I also wanted to do it but I was scared to ask.
We offered to rakat nafl with him leading me in prayer. My heart was somehow content as our marriage first phase started with Allah's name. After offering nafl he made a dua(prays) louder for both of us. As I tried to get on my feet my whole body was already trembling because of nervousness causing me to loose my balance. A hand wrapped around my waist and saved me from falling down. I was met with ocean blue eyes. My heart was pounding and I could hear his pounding heart too.We both were lost in each other when a door was opened with jerk. Izzah came inside and looked at us stunned. We both let go of each other and I quickly lowered my eyes in shame. I shouldn't have looked at him like this.
"Oh! I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Izzah said in one breath while holding a teasing smile on her face.
"You should be. You should at least knocked the door before entering." Hamail said in stern voice.

"Hey! Don't talk to me in that tone, okay? How would I know that they had started their romance so I should come inside after knocking?" She said in a teasing manner. I was more embarrassed, I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me inside it.
Ammar came inside and told us to come outside as everyone was waiting for us. Rohaan turned around and forwarded his hand in front of me. Izzah and hamail started teasing again which earned them a good scolding from Armaan and in return Izzah stomped off while cursing him. Rohaan was still looking at me unaware of everything around him.
I placed my hand in his. I was sure that my cheeks were now the shade of light pink. He intertwined our fingers and hold my hand firmly. We went outside hand in hand. In this whole time my eyes were lowered down. We performed some rituals together and then it was time to leave my family again.
I hugged my mother tightly. Baba put his hand on my head and hugged me. Hamail was crying and she hugged me more tighter than anyone else did. I couldn't even breathe for few seconds. Then Ammar, he was holding Quran on my head, I hugged him, he kissed me on forehead and also warned Rohaan that not to make me cry or there will be consequences. I almost laughed on his warning. Keyword 'almost'. Rohaan told him that he would try his best and said that he know his feeling as he is also a brother of a girl.
Then Rohaan helped me to get in car with heavy lehnga. I was crying continuously, he started driving car. I tried to stop myself from crying hard but seemed helpless. I was afraid and at the same time leaving my family again was more hard for me.
"Do you want to eat ice cream?" He asked. My head swiftly moved towards him. Then I shook my head indicating no as everyone was waiting for us at home.
"But I want to eat it. Which flavour do you want ? Wait! Chocolate chip is your favourite one right?" He asked me. I clearly remember that I told him that I didn't want one.
"Everyone is waiting for us at home." I said in a low voice.
"This is your problem for saying no to ice cream? If it is then let me solve it right now." He said. He called uncle and told him that we will be late and surprisingly uncle said okay. I gasped and shut my mouth and started looking out of window.
He stopped at ice cream parlour and went inside to get ice cream for us. I sighed this night was going to be long. After sometime he came and gave me a chocolate chip one ice cream. To be honest, eating ice cream after crying gives you good feeling and makes your mood more good. He was eating and driving. He was looking at me now and then. I was shifting in my seat just to get away from his eyes.
He took another route and it was not the route of his house. I looked at him, I wanted to ask him that where were we going but I was afraid to do so. I kept quiet and started looking down at my hands.
The car screeched to a halt and he went out of car. I was confused that should I go. Before I could comprehend the situation he opened the door from my side and placed his hand infrint of me. I took his hand and get outside. We walked through some dark place and he hold my hand tightly. I was afraid and was holding onto him. We were really near. At last I could see a moonlight. We moved further and a beautiful scenery came in view. It was a stream, the water was running making a beautiful sound. The moonlight reflecting on it. I was stunned to see this beautiful sight in front of me. Rohaan took me near it and we sat on the stone. I ran my fingers in the water and I could feel the coldness of water. I was in my own trance when I noticed that Rohaan was watching me intently. As our eyes met he came forward. My breath hitched and a layer of shiver ran down my spine. His lips touched my forehead and pleasure rush into my veins. After a kiss on my forehead we both could feel my trembleness he took my shaking hands in his large ones and softly kissed them. We both stayed like this, him holding my hand and seeing the running water and our reflection in it.
Whewww!! Long chapter.
Enjoy 😉

The Emperor's Chef
"Cook like your life depends on it, kid. Because it does." Charles had an enviable future lined up for him. Training from the age of five by some of the finest chefs in the world. Schooling at a top culinary academy in the capital. An honorable position as heir to House Boulier, a line of merchant-lords who have charmed the rich and powerful with their cooking for centuries. And in a single night, it all burned to ash. When the outbreak of war destroys his hometown, Charles is charged with escorting his family’s sacred treasure—a recipe book passed down for untold generations—out of harm's way. But his simple mission grows complicated when he’s captured by one of the most feared battalions in the world: the Spears of Mercy. Life as a prisoner in their war camp is brutal and uncertain. Charles has few allies and even fewer strengths to rely on. Only his skills in the culinary arts, honed over a lifetime in the kitchen, are deemed useful enough to keep him alive another day. But he’s not out of hope just yet. With a dash of wit, a pinch of luck, and some very creative cooking, he might just find a way to recover his family’s legacy and take back his freedom. This project is a food-themed fantasy that centers on cooking and chefs. The setting spans a wide world featuring ingredients/recipes both real and inspired by traditional fantasy. I'll eventually be publishing it as a full-length novel (or series of novels depending on length). These are the first draft chapters. I'll likely be re-writing more than once, then editing before publishing, so impressions and feedback are quite welcome. If you like the story so far and you're interested in being an early reviewer for the final product, feel free to message me. I'm looking for an artist to make some concept art and a cover (the cover shown here is just a temporary placeholder). A stand-alone novel for now, but it may turn into a series down the road.
