《Klaus's Pet》Chapter 11

Hayley POV:
I'm making breakfast for Hope when Klaus walks in and grabs a blood bag. He put Loreli on bed rest while she heals from the wolfsbane. A normal wolf would've been dead two times over with the amount Tyler had given her.
"How's she doing?" I ask as I flip another piece of French toast onto a plate.
"She's arguing about being on bed rest so if say she's improving." Klaus says and gives Hope a kiss on the forehead
I set down a plate for myself and Hope.
"Hey honey I'm sorry our plan for hide and seek didn't work out." I say
I wanted to apologize sooner but Hope had gone to bed and I didn't want to wake her.
"It's okay Mom. Loreli needed help." She says
I take a moment to absorb the information.
"You heard that huh?" I ask
"Yeah." She says and takes a bite of her French toast
"I didn't say anything because I didn't want you to worry." I tell her
"I know. She's going to be okay right?" Hope asks
"Yes honey. In a few days she'll be up and back to her old self." I reassure her
Klaus POV:
I walk into the bedroom. Loreli is laying in bed arm over her face, shielding her eyes from the sunlight. I think she's sleeping and I turn to leave when I hear her speak.
"What day is it?" She asks groggily
"Tuesday love." I answer
I go sit down on the edge of the bed.
"Is he dead?" She asks, not moving
"Tyler got the punishment he deserved." I say
I'm not sure if I should tell her what happened. As a wolf herself she understands what its like changing every full moon.

"I brought you a blood bag." I say and hold it out to her
Changing the subject worked. She thanks me and snatches it. Sipping it quickly.
"How much longer on my house arrest?"
I chuckle.
"You can't be on house arrest if you can't even get out of bed love." I say
"Fair enough. I just hate being cooped up in here." She says then turns her attention back to the bag.
"Only a day or two until the wolfsbane has completely left your system I promise." I say
"Good then maybe I can go visit Emma." She says
I'm taken aback for a moment.
I didn't think she would actually go. She seemed to have brushed the idea off before.
"It won't be for too long Nik. I just need to get out of here for a bit. I promise I'll keep in touch." She says
"You can go but only if you promise to stay in that bed for the next two days. I put you on bed rest, do t think I won't enforce it. If you aren't improving in the next few days, you aren't going until you're better." I say
She smiles at me.
"I promise I won't go anywhere until I'm better. Warm blood would be nice though." She says
"I'll see what I can do." I say
I take the empty bag from her hands and give her a kiss and leave, gently closing the door behind me.
I rejoin Hayley and Hope I'm the kitchen.
"She's going to Georgia in a few days to visit Emma." I say
"Is that really a good idea? Considering what happened last time?" Hayley asks
"She'll be alright. Emma is the Alpha now and from what I know they used to be close."

"Five years is a long time Klaus."
"Luckily she isn't just a wolf anymore. You've been training her. She should be fine."
I am worried about this trip but I don't want to scare Hope.
"What are you up to today love?" I ask my daughter
"Do you want to paint with me?" She asks
"I'd love to."
They finish breakfast while I quickly go out to feed. Then I switch with Hayley so she can feed and now we all sit at the table painting. Hayley paints a flower while Hope focuses intently on her butterfly.
"Damn it!" Hope yells out of nowhere
"Whats wrong sweetie?" Hayley asks concerned
"I just messed up my buttetfly." She says with a sigh
"You know I spent quite a bit of time trying to get my art exactly right but I realized its more about enjoying what you're doing." I say
"I guess." Hope says
"I think you did amazing love." I say
She smiles.
She paints better than I did at her age.
I guide her on how to mix paint and she comes out with a beautiful lavender color. She loves it so much that she paints the butterfly lavender and decides not to redo her painting.
I smile.
That's my girl.

Crimson Gloom
Crimson Gloom. The time when the moon turns crimson, illuminating the landscape with its crimson glow. The time when the ‘doors’ to the Crimson Abyss open. One shall gaze into the abyss and gain its secrets and powers. Concurrently, the abyss also gazes into oneself, gaining one’s sanity and humanity. Dimensional rifts appeared spontaneously on Earth, bringing otherworldly demons along with the Crimson Gloom. Bloody battles were fought, noble sacrifices were made. Humans eventually sealed the rifts and successfully defended their homeworld. Alas, the seals were not perfect. The Crimson Abyss continued to exist, slowly influencing Earth and its inhabitants. Half a century of relatively uneventful years passed… humanity slowly descended into corruption, and the majority of them knew nothing of the effects of the Crimson Abyss. Is there only the dreadful gloom left to the world? Can one find brightness in the increasingly gloomy world? The youth who had gazed into the Crimson Abyss had no answer, nor did he care. He only wanted the Crimson Gloom to end, to forever seal the Crimson Abyss. A mistake and a twist of fate led the youth into a seemingly totally different direction. Will he forget his lifelong goal? Will he instead step back onto his initial path that he fervently pursued? Disclaimer: I do not own the image on the cover. Image edited on canva.com.
