《Klaus's Pet》Chapter 23

Klaus's POV:
Two Weeks Later
I sit on the bed reading a book as the bathroom door opens. Lorelei walks in wrapped in a towel and using another one to dry her hair.
I turn my attention back to my book and I hear her exhale, frustrated.
I try not to smirk.
She's going to push my buttons tonight I just know it.
I look up every so often as she French braids her hair. She braids it every night to keep herself cool during the hot New Orleans nights.
She turns her head, looking at me before she looks away.
She drops her towel on the floor and stands in front of me, naked.
"Need something?" I ask
I can almost feel the eyes roll in her head.
She comes over and lies down next to me.
She places her hand on my thigh.
I turn another page.
Her hand slides up a few inches.
"I know what you're doing." I say
"I have no idea what you mean." She replies
I look at her and raise my eyebrows.
She looks like she's trying to hide a smile but I can see the fire in her eyes.
I return to my book and her hand slides up closer.
I quickly set the book down and position myself on top of her, my knees are on either side of her hips, keeping her in place. My face is inches from hers and as my left hand grips the headboard.
I lean in, inches from her face as I scan her face.
"You really believe you earned it today?" I ask
She nods.
I can feel her body tense up as I lean down closer and whisper in her ear.
"I don't think so."
I feel her shiver and I move so my lips are inches from hers but I pull away at the last moment.

I flip back over and open my book back up.
She pouts for a moment.
Then I catch her out of the corner of my eye reaching for the vibrator that's kept in the nightstand.
"Looking for something?" I ask holding it up with my right hand
She glares at me and I smirk.
"Always one step ahead love." I say
"That's just cruel." She says
I smirk.
She rolls her eyes.
After a few moments she gives in realizing I meant what I had said and she lays down with her head on my chest.
I kiss her forehead and continue reading. After awhile I'm about to ask her what she wants to do tomorrow when I hear the gentle snoring coming from her.
She's asleep.
I set the book down, turn the light off and fall asleep.
Lorelei's POV:
Hayley punches me in the face.
I stumble back for a moment.
It feels nice to be out in the bayou again.
Granted I didn't think the next time we'd be out here was for fight training but Nik said I needed the practice.
I swing at Hayley and she dodges it. She moves to kick and I catch her ankle and swing my foot at her other leg as I let her go, knocking her off her feet.
She falls to the ground and gives me a smile as I hold out my hand.
"You're getting better." She says
"I'd hope so. We've been at this for hours." I say smiling back
"Ready to call it?" She asks
The sky thunders and we both look up, droplets of rain land on our faces.
"It's going to storm soon. We should probably head back." Hayley says
"Are you kidding me? This is the first time in weeks where we can actually be out here. I'm staying." I say
She smiles and we both transform and run out into the dark woods.
The rain picks up to the point that it's pouring but we don't mind. It feels amazing.
We run around, dodging trees, hurdling ourselves over cliffs and running like we'd never run before.
We take a break at a stream to get some water then take off again.
I chase her, urging my body to go faster.
I want to win this time.
