《Mystic: Gojo x Reader》7: Check Mate

"Were you able to exorcise it?" Gakuganji asked.
"You're asking me, a student, if I finished off your dirty work?" I scoffed. "That's not my job."
He sighed loudly while Satoru laughed.
"Always playing your games," Satoru teased.
"It's not a game," I looked intensely at Gakuganji. "If you want my help, graduate me."
"She's right. It's pointless to keep her back like this," Utahime added.
"But then who will Gakuganji control? He does like to be manipulative," Satoru smirked.
"Gojo," Yaga called out simply, trying to stop that conversation from going any further.
"Fine, Y/n. I'll make you a deal," Gakuganji finally spoke up.
"I'm not interested in making deals with the devil. I want my freedom."
Satoru laughed loudly again, and I shot him a look.
Ganji ignored me completely, "I'll graduate you on the condition that you become a teacher."
My eyes widened. He can't be serious.
"A teacher to the young first years, including Sukuna's vessel."
Satoru squealed in excitement. I'm sure he was looking forward to working together and ensuring I didn't run off again, but as far as I was concerned, that would be worse than being a student.
A demotion to say the least. I wasn't cut out to be a teacher, and I would still be under Jujutsu High's control.
"What the fuck? No way," I huffed. "I'm leaving."
I went to walk away when he spoke up again.
"However, should you refuse, you will remain a student indefinitely. I will assign you no missions. You will make no money. And you will be forced to stay within the bounds of Kyoto."
There was complete silence in the room now as I turned to face him.
"Y-you can't do that," I whispered out in utter shock.
"As the principal, and your elder, I may do as I wish."
I looked around frantically at the teachers and professionals in the room. They all stayed silent.
"A-are you serious!?" I raised my voice. "You can't do this to me!!"
I was desperately holding back tears. This asshole has been trying to control me ever since we met, and it was clear he had no intentions of letting up.
They all wanted control over my power. And since I wasn't a part of any clan or jujutsu family, they had no other way to do so.

A power like mine could easily turn into something dark... something cursed. Or, at least that's what I had been constantly told.
"I'm not yours to own!!" I yelled, the tears welling up despite my best efforts.
Satoru came and placed a hand on my shoulder.
"Do you have nothing to say about this?" I hissed at him. He never usually held back his thoughts of disapproval, why was he doing so now?
"Y/n—" Utahime began, but I quickly cut her off.
"Why would you even want me as Yuji's teacher?! What good would possibly come of that?"
"I just feel that having you there will be, well, useful to me," he smirked slightly.
"And I should warn you," he continued. "This will be the only time I give you such a generous offer."
It took everything I had not to go over there and strike him down.
"So, do you accept?" he asked.
I shook my head in disbelief, racking my brain to see how it ever even got to this point. Would I ever have my freedom again?
"Fine," I muttered out. "But you better watch your fucking back. Once false step, and I'll keep the promise I made to you out there today."
He was staring me down, but I held his gaze. I'm not afraid of you old man. I meant what I said, I will kill you if you have anything to do with endangering these students.
Yaga cleared his throat, trying to redirect the tension, "Now, should we talk to the students about the Goodwill Event?"
I rolled my eyes with a scoff and quickly went to leave. No way I was sticking around and pretending like everything was fine.
Everything is not fucking fine.
"Y/n, wait," Utahime called after me, but not even my respect for her was enough to make me go back there.
I quickly stormed through the halls, trying to decide where I was going to run off to, where I was going to hide for the next few hours.
"Y/n, you ok?" I heard Yuji call out as I passed him and everyone else waiting in an open area.
"Not now," was all I managed to mutter out.
I heard footsteps running up behind me.
"Gojo-sensei! What's going on!?" Yuji called again.
Really? Satoru has the audacity to chase me down after that?

"Hey. Hey, wait up," he yelled after me before grabbing my wrist.
I stopped to face him, "What do you want?"
"Look, Y/n. I'm sorry this is happening to you, but it won't be so bad."
"You sure talk a big game about the higher ups, but you won't do shit. You and I both know that. Your clan status means too much to you to actually risk anything."
"There was nothing I could do."
"You didn't even try. You all just watched! All any of you have ever done is just watch as they continue to claim me as their fucking property!!"
I couldn't stop the tears from flowing down my cheeks.
"You and Nanami brought me here, and I haven't known freedom since. You stole that from me!"
His mouth dropped open slightly, "That's not fair, Y/n. We never knew it would end up like this!"
I shook my head, "And now that it has, you still won't even help me."
"I am trying to help you," he hissed softly as he grabbed my arm. "Don't you realize how much worse it would get if we all interfered?! I don't care what happens to me, Y/n. I never have, but they would make it hell for you if we all rallied in your defense."
I had never really thought about it that way, but he was right.
The worst thing would be if anyone tried to revolt against them for me. The clan leaders already despised me as it was. I was an unknown power they felt threatened by.
It would be all they needed to cite me as a rebellious threat or even a curse user if people at Jujutsu High started going against them for my sake.
I completely broke down at his words and wrapped myself tightly around him, crying into his chest. It was all just so overwhelming, and I was so tired of being alone.
He hugged me back, stroking my hair softly, "I'm here for you, Y/n. I'll always be here."
After a few moments, my tears stop and my breathing returned to normal. I nuzzled my head further into his chest, wanting to stay there and hide away from the world.
He laughed softly before kissing me on the head, "I don't think you can get any closer, no matter how much you try to bury your head into me."
"Let's go to your room. I'll show you how much closer I can get," I whispered.
He grabbed my cheeks gently with both his hands, redirecting my face to look at him.
"You shouldn't tease me like that," he smirked.
"I'm not teasing you."
He smiled before kissing me softly over my mask.
"All in good time, my love. First! We must introduce you as their new teacher!"
"Ughhhh! I don't wanna!" I whined playfully, making him laugh.
"Come on, Y/n. Be a good girl now," he smirked.
"Say that shit one more time, Satoru. I dare you," I smiled back at him.
We were walking back towards the students when he stopped suddenly.
"What's up?" I asked.
"What you said to Gakuganji, about a promise? What was that about?"
"I told him if he had anything to do with attacks against the students, then I would kill him," I stated coldly.
"Kill him?" Satoru asked in shock. "Do you mean that?"
"Yes."
"Oh shit," he scoffed. "Maybe you will make a good teacher."
"I don't care what they do to me, Satoru. They will never do to another student what they've done to me. I'll die to protect them."
"You mean the situation with Itadori?" he asked.
"Mm."
He sighed, "Well, you can count me in too."
I held his hand and squeezed it gently, not really knowing what there was left to say.
"Alright, let's get this over with," he smiled while continuing forward, still holding onto my hand.
"At least we get to be together now," I added softly before resting my head on his arm as we walked.
"Mm," he moaned out as he let go of my hand and put his arm around me. "And that's the real reason I didn't speak up in there."
I shot him a glare from the corner of my eye, annoyed with his joke.
"What? Too soon?" he teased with a smirk.
"You're not funny," I mumbled.
"Oh, I think you know I am."
Our blissful, flirty conversation was interrupted by the loud mouth of my new student...
"Whoa! So you two are really a thing!? But she's a student!!" Yuji yelled.
"Well, about that," I offered a small, closed eyed smile.
"Meet your new teacher," Satoru finished.
The three first years all dropped their mouths open and widened their eyes.
"N-New teacher?"
