《Mystic: Gojo x Reader》23: Whiplash

**back to the present time**
My mind was blurry as I drifted into consciousness, a loud smashing sound waking me up from a deep sleep.
I couldn't focus on much, but the distant yelling was pulling me in.
"Why the hell isn't she awake yet!?"
Is that Satoru's voice? I still couldn't get my eyes to open, they felt so heavy. So I just laid there, trying desperately to force my way out of this fog.
"We have no idea what kind of technique was used against her, Gojo. You should just be glad she's in a stable condition."
"It's been 4 fucking days!!! How much longer are we supposed to wait!? We're not doing anything to help!"
Who's he talking to? Are they talking about me? I finally fluttered open my eyelids, letting out a soft groan as I met the harsh, yellow light of the room.
Slowly, I got a grip on myself. I looked around to see I was in a small hospital-like room. I wracked my brain for anything that would explain what the hell was going on, but there was nothing.
I pushed myself to sit up, my body creaking and groaning as I struggled against its desire to lie still. I was hooked up to so many different machines, and I didn't like not knowing why or what happened.
I threw my legs over, letting them dangle off the side of the small bed and looked down at the many IVs in my arm.
I harshly yanked them out of me, wincing in pain as they tugged against my skin. I wiped away the small drops of blood forming before taking off a small apparatus on my finger.
As soon as I did that, one of the machines started going crazy. It took me a moment, but I realized it was monitoring my heart, and the beep was indicating to the world that I no longer had a pulse.
Suddenly, Satoru burst into the room, a look of horror on his face as he heard the jarring sound.
It was quickly replaced with disbelief as he realized I wasn't dead, just sitting there dazed and confused.
"Y/n!" he called as he ran up to me, immediately grabbing me tightly into a hug.
His forcefulness sent pain shooting through my body, and I let out a low groan.
"Ah! Sorry!" he said as he pulled apart. "Did I hurt you?!"
I just nodded my head, still unable to really speak. I watched as he sat carefully next to me on the bed, a small smile on his face as he pushed the hair out of my face gently.
"Really? You had to rip out everything?" I turned my attention towards Ieiri who was walking towards us.
I went to speak but my throat was so dry nothing came out... They must have been talking about me, because it definitely felt as though I hadn't had a drink of water in 4 days.

As if she read my mind, she handed over a glass of water, "Here."
I tried to grab it, but my arm would barely even lift. I guess I used all my energy to just sit up like this.
Satoru quickly grabbed the cup and moved it to my mouth, helping me drink. "Slowly," he encouraged as he put it to my lips.
After a few small sips, he pulled it back.
"Thanks," I huffed out in a raspy, low voice that was barely audible.
"I can't believe you're ok," he whispered.
I reached over, feeling a surge of energy, and tried to tug on his blindfold. "Off," I demanded, and he laughed softly as he obliged.
I felt instant relief as I looked into his eyes. He always made everything so much better. I touched his face gently as tears began to roll down my cheeks.
"Y/n? What's wrong?" he asked as he scooted closer to me.
I finally remembered that terrible reality Geto had trapped me in...
"I-I thought you died," I muttered out, still holding onto him.
"Me?" he laughed again. "You were the one who almost died."
"Satoru," I mumbled as I instantly buried my face into his chest, letting his strong arms wrap around me as I cried.
"It's ok, I'm here for you. You're safe now," he whispered as he rubbed my back, laying soft kisses on the top of my head.
"Y/n," Ieiri called out after a moment. "Do you remember anything that happened? Are you ready to talk about it?"
I just shook my head, not moving from the comfort and safety of Satoru's arms. I didn't want to think about it any of it right now. I just wanted to be with him.
She sighed, "That's ok. We can talk later when you're feeling up to it, but you need to lay back down. We need to hook you back up to everything."
I held tighter onto Satoru, not wanting to have to move or be here anymore. I just wanted to leave and hide away.
"What do you need, Y/n?" he asked softly. "We'll do whatever you need."
I pulled back to look at him. His eyes were so soft and full of love as he stared back at me. Every time I looked at him, it was as if nothing else in the world mattered. And after feeling that pain of it would be like to lose him, I knew there was only him.
"Food," I smiled softly at him, causing him to laugh.
"We can do that. We'll get you food. Anything else?"
"I want to shower."
Ieiri spoke up, "You shouldn't be standing. You need to lay down and rest until we're able to do more testing to make sure nothing is still wrong internally."

"It's ok, I'll help her," he said as he looked over to her. "Can you get her food for when she's finished?"
Ieiri just sighed, "Fine, I'll bring clean clothes too."
"Thank you," I said to Satoru after she left.
"No problem. Now let's get you to the bathroom," he stood and helped me to my feet, holding me up as we walked.
"You ok?" he asked, and I just nodded as we went into the bathroom of the small room.
I stood at the sink first, "I want to brush my teeth."
He looked through the supply drawers before grabbing everything I needed. He kept holding me up as I took my time.
"Now the hard part," he laughed as we stared at the shower. He turned it on and let the water warm up
for me.
"I'll be fine."
"Mm, well, I'm waiting in here in case anything goes wrong. I'm not having you pass out in the shower."
I shrugged and took off the hospital gown I was now wearing. It's not like he hadn't seen me naked a hundred times before. He helped me in the shower before siting down on a small chair to wait.
I shut the curtain and let the warm water rush over me. It stung as it brushed against some scrapes I had, but the pain was quickly replaced with a rush of relief.
I cleaned off my body, but as I was about to start washing my hair, my knees quickly gave out. I grabbed onto the side of the wall to keep from falling, but still caused a loud crashing noise.
"Y/n!" Satoru yelled as he opened the curtain to make sure I was ok.
"I'm fine," I grumbled before slamming it shut again.
"Ah, just let me help you! Don't be stubborn!" he peeked in and grabbed my arm, helping me sit on the floor of the shower.
"What do you still need?"
I sighed in defeat. This was so embarrassing for me, but I knew he'd never leave now.
"Shampoo," I mumbled as I brought my body into a tight ball, trying to cover up how exposed I was.
I watched as he smirked and took off his jacket, "You don't need to hide. It's nothing I haven't seen."
"Shut up," I groaned. "What are you doing?"
I watched as he poured shampoo into his hand, "Helping. Just calm down."
I sat there uncomfortably as he gently rubbed his hands through my hair, washing it for me. Sure we had sex recently, but this was way more intimate than we had been in so long.
He quickly grabbed a cup from outside the bathroom, filling it up with water as he helped me wash out the soap.
"Now what?" he asked.
"Conditioner."
He hummed cutely to himself as he went through the same process. He seemed to be enjoying himself, and I couldn't lie that I was feeling so loved. He really would do anything for me.
"Anything else?" he smiled at me.
"I don't want to get out yet. I want to take a bath."
"Anything for you," he winked before switching over the water to come out of the bath faucet, closing the drain on the ground so it'd fill.
I adjusted myself so that I was still curled up, but my back was pressed against the far side of the tub rather than the side where he was washing my hair.
"Thank you," I smiled softly at him as I sat there.
"How are you feeling?"
I shrugged, "Better now for sure. My head still hurts a bit."
"I'm sure some food and water will help."
"Yea, probably."
He crouched down next to me, lightly grabbing my chin to turn my head so that I looked at him, "I love you."
"I love you too."
"I'm so sorry, Y/n. I'm sorry I keep hurting you."
I shook my head softly, "No, I'm the one who should be sorry Satoru. I'm sorry I keep leaving. You're the only thing I want in this whole world."
He smiled at me, "Feelings mutual." He leaned in a planted a gentle kiss on my lips.
I looked at him as he pulled away, "Join me."
He laughed, "What?"
"Come on, join me."
"Not happening. I can tell by the look in your eyes you want to have sex and your body is too weak for that right now," he laughed more.
"Gojo, I won't try anything. I promise! Just sit behind me and let me cuddle you."
"The tub isn't even that big."
"It's bigger than the ones in our rooms at the high school, and we've done plenty more there," I teased.
He sighed as he stood back up, immediately taking off his shirt, "But I swear, Y/n. If you try anything, I'm getting out."
I laughed, "Yea, sure you will."
He was unbuckling his pants and immediately
stopped, giving me a serious look.
"Fine! Fine! I won't! Just hurry up."
He turned off the water and finished undressing before stepping into the bath. I scooted forward so he could sit behind me, and as he got comfortable, I quickly rested my back against his chest.
He pushed the hair away from my face, and kissed the side of my head. I closed my eyes as he held me in his arms, letting a small smile curl up on my lips.
"See? Aren't you glad you got in?"
"Mm," he kissed me again. "Very."

The Systems of the Multiverse - A Guide for the Multiversal Traveler
The Systems of the Multiverse have their issues. I, an observer from outside the multiverse have made it into my mission to tell you, the multiversal traveler about those issues and dangers. This is a relatively low effort NaNoWriMo and Writhathon project. I want to test myself if I can manage 55k words in a month, likely updating every single day until the end. This story is told in the form of an in universe book. Well, I say story... While this definetly won't be great, I still hope it will be enjoyable. I do my best to avoid grammar mistakes and spelling issues, but won't promise anything. Corrections are welcome, this is also an excercise to improve my writing from a technical standpoint. Not from a worldbuilding and character standpoint however, for that you need time. Oh, the keyboards (and computers) that the observer destroys are not real and only exists in story to have an excuse to easily end this story at the end of NaNoWriMo. I also personally like reading LitRPG stories, so this isn't meant to hate them. It might come over that way, but many of those issues are simply fun to think about: what would really happen if the world is so, seen through a lease of negativity :-) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
