Nova's POV
"You've got be kidding me." I say under my breath as we step into the big hall.
"Smile, Angel." Grayson's arms tightens against my waist as we move around the crowed.
"When you went over the plan, this is not what I had in mind." I whisper shout.
"I think it's cute." Eva giggles. I shoot her a glare as she takes a glass of champagne and winks at me. "Good luck." She mouths as she walks off giggling.
Grayson pulls me aside, our bodies flush together. I place my hand on his shirt covered chest as he looks down at me. "I happen to like the sound of Mrs, Blackwell." He smirks, his eyes filled with humour.
"I'm sure you do. Don't get your hopes up." I smooth down his black tie that hangs loosely around his neck.
"Never say never, Angel." He grins, his hands sliding down my dress lightly grazing my ass.
I reach behind me to grab his hands, taking them into mine I lean up to his ear and whisper, "in your dreams, Blackwell." I lightly kiss below his ear, feeling him tense up against me.
"How'd you know?" He whispers, taking my chin and looking into my eyes.
"Aw, what a lovely couple." Our heads snap to the side seeing a couple who look to be in there early thirties, a small child standing beside them.
I laugh awkwardly pulling myself away from Grayson. "Oh no-
"Thank you, recently engaged." Grayson interrupts me, his hand wrapping around my waist pulling me flush against him.
I look up at him with a stern look as he winks at me before plastering on his million dollar smile at the couple In front of us. "Yes, it was such a surprise." I say, flashing a fake smile at them.
"How lovely. How did he propose?" The lady asks, now walking closer to us.
"Honey, why don't you tell them?" I look up at Grayson as he flashes me a small glare as I smile smugly at him.
"Well..." he sighs, looking down at me. His green eyes boring into mine. He smiles softly at me as he begins to talk. "I took her to Italy, her favourite country, took her on a boat to watch the sunset, giving her flowers and her favourite meal. Just as the sun began to set, I got down on one knee and asked her to be my forever." He says his eyes on mine the entire time, creating goosebumps on my skin.
He flashed them a smile, turning his head away from my gaze. My heart beats wildly in my chest as my stomach flutters crazily. It's hard to wrap my head around the idea he just said, he got everything correct, my favourite country and food and flowers. I can't help but imagine if he was mine forever. Always waking up next to his messy hair and raspy voice. Watching him laugh or smile at me even when I'm screaming at him, only for him to call me hot. It's a comforting thought but also one that has sadness seeping into me because I know it will never happen and I don't how how that makes me feel.
No feelings.
I shake my head from the thoughts and turn back to the couple who have started a conversation with Grayson as I was stuck in my own world. I look around and spot our target by the bar, laughing with a male as she spikes his drink without him looking. I nudge Grayson who looks at me and then to the bar.

"I'm sorry, if you'll excuse us." Grayson smiles at the couple and we hastily make our way over to the bar.
"Omg! I haven't seen you in forever!" I cheer coming in between the two. Clementine glares at me as the man looks at me curiously. "Well don't just stand there! Introduce me to your man." I wave my hand 'accidentally' knocking over his drink.
"Oh! I'm so sorry." I apologise.
"It's fine, I'll just clean it up." The man smiles at me as he excuses himself to the bathroom.
"Who the fuck are you?" Clementine asks, her french accent making her words seem more vicious. I turn around with a sweet smile.
"Sweetie, you should know by now who I am." I say, placing a hand on my hip.
She looks at me thoroughly, her face hardens and her eyes click with recognition. "Nova Quinn." She huffs.
"See, I'd knew you would get it." I wink at her.
"What do you want." She asks through clenched teeth.
"I've heard a lot about you." I peer at her seeing fear flash through her eyes before she masks it. "You seem to be getting around, don't ya?"
She studies me, choosing her next words carefully. "Maybe I have, maybe I haven't. What's it to you?"
I chuckle stepping closer to her and lowering my voice. "You see, if your gonna be bouncing around you might not want to leave a trail." I shrug, suggesting to the trail of bodies she's left as she passes.
She glares at me. "Fuck you." She turns on her heels to escape and I sigh, resting my body against the bar. She doesn't go far as Grayson blocks her way.
"Leaving so soon?" He asks, that devilish smirk on his kissable lips.
I swear, every time we are on a mission my hormones are higher and crazier then they usually are. Shoving away my intrusive thoughts, Clementine looks between me then to Grayson before she books it out of here. I groan watching her figure run away into the crowed. "Ugh! I didn't want to run." I grumble before me and Grayson take off.
"She's just left the hall, east wing." Liam says through the head piece.
"Copy that." Grayson says. We push through the crowd avoiding the stares of the other guest. Grayson's hand wrapped around my wrist, making sure I don't loose him through the busway hall. Grayson stops momentarily as he looks around then turns to me.
"Take this." Grayson slides his jacket off showing off his muscles that ripple through his shirt, begging me to run my hands against them. I take the jacket and looks at it with confusion. "Put it under your dress." I look at him then to the jacket in my hand.
"I'm sorry?" I ask completely confused by his request. If this is some weird kink he has...He rolls his eyes and takes the jacket out of my hands.
"If we want to get through that crowed faster, you're going to have to shove this under your dress." He explains.
Still not getting the entire idea of this plan I stand there just staring at him. "Guys she's moving fast." Liam says. With a huff, Grayson pulls me against his chest and shoves his hand up my dress stuffing the jacket against my stomach. I gasp, my body automatically reacting to his touch. He pulls his hand out after making sure I feel him touch my heated skin.

"Good to know you're wet for me, Angel." He smirks as my cheeks flame up.
"I can only go on for so long!" Eva shouts through the ear peace as she runs after Clementine.
Finally, snapping out of the bubble we had created Grayson wraps his arm around my waist and begins to ruthlessly push his way through the crowed. "Move it! Pregnant lady coming through!" He shouts as he pushes people. People begin to move and I only now just get at what he was saying.
Hunching over slightly I start to groan In pain, my hand landing on my jacket stuffed stomach. We easily get through after people move out the way. We enter the halls and take off to the east wing. "Eyes Liam?"Grayson asks as we run down the hall.
"Make two lefts and a right. She's got lost, so she's gone in a circle. Should be coming up to you soon." With that we sprint off.
The hall is silent, only the sound is my heels smashing against the marbled floor as we run. Hastily taking lefts and right until we come to a stop. With panting breathes we look around. In front of us is two ways, any of them which Clementine could of taken. "Liam?" I ask.
"...I'm sorry, I don't see." Grayson curses.
"She must of made her way out side." I say as I turn to Grayson who pulls at his hair.
"And if not?"
"Only one way to find out." I say, gesturing to the two pathways.
He sighs loudly. "Fine, but I want to hear from you every five minutes. Okay?" He commands.
I nod my head as I give his hand a reassuring squeeze. "See ya later, Blackwell." I say before I take off. It's room after room as I run down the hall. I stop, looking at all the doors which she could be behind any of. Just as I'm about to open a random door, I hear a crash coming from the furthest one. I quietly make my way there, taking off my heels as I get closer to the door. I slowly open the door and see Clementine trying to open a window to escape.
I hide behind a couch, ripping open my dress I grab the dagger that sits on my thigh. Taking the dagger into my hands I stand up and throw it at Clementine who flinches as it lands an inch away from her head. She looks at the dagger then turns to me. "Missed me."
I chuckle, "Honey, I never miss." I say before I take out my other dagger and hold the blade against my arm. She takes the dagger that I threw and throws it at me. I catch it just in time, it only cutting me lightly on the palm of my hand. "Your gonna wish you didn't do that." I say before I lunge at her, lightly cutting her across her abdomen. She cry's out, pushing herself on me.
I go falling to the floor Clementine straddling me holding a knife against my neck. "Any last words?" She ask a smug smile on her face. I chuckle at her naivety.
"You didn't think it would be that easy did you?" I chuckle, stabbing a dagger into her side and pushing her off me so I'm the one who is straddling her. She groans in pain, to busy to fight me off. I hold a dagger against her neck only adding a small amount of pressure to it. "What about you?" I ask, a smirk on my lips.
"Fuck you." She spits out. I laugh humorously at her. "I'm starting to get the idea you want to." I say. She glares at me, going to say something but gets cut off by the door barging open.
"Just in time." I whisper in her ear and pulling my head up to see Grayson.
"What did I say, Angel?" He shakes his head, coming in with Liam and Kelly behind him. He lifts me up by the waist as Liam throws Clementine over his shoulder.
"I left my channel open, did I not?"
He rolls his eyes, looking over me. "Your hand is cut." He mumbles to himself as he brings my hand up and inspects the wound, his touch gentle and warm on my hand.
"It's only light." I shrug.
"Guys!" Eva comes rushing in, her breaths laboured. I take notice at her dress that has blood stains covering it.
"What's happened?" I ask.
"She's got back up. There's about three SUV's out there and any minute there going to come in guns blazing." She pants. Grayson runs to the window looking out.
"Fuck!" He shouts, tugging on the roots of his hair. "Right. I want that hall shut down, no one goes in or out." He says.
"What about security? There's going to question." Eva asks.
"We're just going to come up with something later." He sighs.
I look around the room noticing a wall filled with old weapons. There old but they will have to do, I only have my daggers on me. "Guys?" I call, turning to them. I roll my eyes as they talk hurriedly, ignoring me. I look at the glass covered wall and think how to get it open. "That'll have to do." I mutter, picking up the chair and swinging it against the glass.
The glass shatters the loud bang of the chair falling to the floor. I walk over the glass, picking up a long sword. I let out a low whistle watching as the light catches onto the steel. I look back up to see everyone staring at me. "Vintage, eh!" I nod my head to the weapons, waving around the sword. "Are you going to just stand there or gear up?" I ask without looking up.
I watch as they all begin to move. "What are we going to do with this sack?" Liam grunts as he gestures to Clementine who is still draped over his shoulder.
"Tie her." Grayson commands as he kicks out a chair and cutting a piece of curtain and chucking it at Liam who dumps her on the chair and bounds her to it. I watch as Liam steps away from her to get some weapons. Clementine peaks her head up, looking around us all until her eyes land on me with a hateful glare.
"Comfy princess?" I whisper, crouching down to her height. She goes to speak but I cut her off. "Wait! Let me guess, fuck me?" I ask with a smirk on my face. I'll tell you what, if looks could kill I'd be six feet under. "Thought so." I whisper. Wiping down her blood that coated my daggers on her dress and sliding them back onto my thigh.
"All right. Let's go." We all turn to Grayson who holds his hand on the door knob. He turns to us, looking at us all with his cold mask and serious dark eyes. He eyes lighten slightly when his gaze settles on me before going back to the same hard cold face.
"Try not to get killed." He says and opens the door.
I could only hope no one dies.

Hello ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to my first attempt at writing a novel. I am preparing to participate in the 2017 NaNoWriMo event so enjoy the first chapter as that's here early only to ensure that I have a place to post once the event starts. This means the first novel/book will have a target of 50,000 words. I'm excited to attempt this challenge despite the hurdles I will have to overcome. I do have a demanding full time job so planning time to write and make weekly releases starting in November will be my biggest challenge. Also, please accept my apologies on my cover. I'm not an artist and the only digital tool available at my disposal is the stock microsoft paint. So I did my best to create a decent cover as I did not want to steal the work of another. If there are those interested by the end of November in donating a new fan made cover then I will look into replacing the old cover.
