《Walking With Jesus A Daily Devotional》Day Forty-Seven

Day Forty-Seven.
Verses: "'I put no trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame. In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever.'"
Psalm 44:6-8
I love the verses above because it talks about when though they were fighting a battle with a sword, it was not the sword's strength that gave them the victory: it was God.
I was reading a quote the other day that said: "Sometimes God puts you into a battle empty handed so when you do get the victory, you know it was God and not yourself."
When my book: "Jesus Saves Daily Devotions" was first accepted to being published, I got a big head by it. I was so proud of myself and how I wrote the book. God had to have a come to Jesus with me because it wasn't me who wrote the book to begin with, it was God. God gave me those words to write. It was God, not myself.
Let me repeat that: it was God, not myself.
I believe in the day and age we are living in, we can all get a big head. We can easily get caught up in believing we got the victory for ourselves, and by ourselves. When that's not what happens at all, God gives us the victory. God give us the strength to fight that battle and win. The sword didn't win the battle, we didn't win the battle: God did. Without God, we would have no victory.
Without God, we would have no victory.
But thankfully, we do have God. So we do get the victory! But you, didn't do it by yourself. You can't take all the credit. It was GOD who gave you that victory. It is GOD who you need to praise and thank for your victory. It was not YOU! Sure, you did have a part in it, but God is the reason why you had the victory.

It was God, not you.
I think it's sad that we live in a day and age where God is not getting any praise and thanks. I believe that we can change that. We can change that for praising and thanking God for every victory we have. We can praise and thank God for always loving us, being there for us, and for helping us. God is so good and I believe we need to remember that.
God is good even when life isn't.
The weather changes, people change, but God is never changing. He stays the same. In all times, God is good. (Romans 12:2)
Let's be thankful and grateful for God! Let's praise God for every victory we have!
Prayer:
Dear God,
I just want to thank you for every victory I have. I know it was not me who won the battle but it was you. I thank you Lord! I praise you Lord because you are so good even when life isn't. I pray that you grab my hand and stay close by my side. I can't do life without you Lord. I need you. I love you. I thank you!
In Jesus's name, I pray, Amen!

Heart of Dorkness
When an accident causes the early death of two young women, one is chosen to become a hero, a saviour, and a servant of the God of Heroes! This is not her story. This is the story of Valeria, whose soul clung to her friend’s, and who was dragged into a new world where her wandering spirit was claimed by the Goddess of Darkness. And so, one who doesn’t belong grows to become the servant of the Dark Goddess, a servant—definitely not a daughter—who will usher in a new age of despair and disgust. Just Don't Shoot the Quartermaster
Aliens are real! And monsters! But that's racist, don't call them that. And there's magic too! The life of humble, hard-working Carioca*¹² Rafael Barro is thrown into disarray when the interstellar Multi-Unity Alliance comes knocking. During the negotiations to take Earth in as a Protected Member-Planet for the glory of our AI overlords, the aliens ‘accidentally’ break the Veil that keeps the mythics protected from humanity’s knowledge, revealing the creatures of legend and myth that were hiding among us for millennia — from the doorman to global leaders. After a series of mishaps in his ever chaotic Brazil, our intrepid hero decides to join the Unity's Army, where he ends up as a inglorious… quartermaster. The Unity takes all recruits to make matters worse, including the mythics! And the cherry on the damn pie is Rafael Barro’s extra assignment: writing this historical first-hand report on the wonders of Earth’s diversity, the seamless adaptation of all its members, and on his gallant units’ first stellar expedition ever to defend another precious*³ world! Are we talking about the same planet? (Reader discretion is advised; Contains Graphic Language and Potentially Excessive Swearing) *¹ Carioca = demonym of someone from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. *² humble and/or hardworking Cariocas = not necessarily mythics, ordinary ones actually exist. *³ precious = inasmuch every living planet is precious. Editor's Note: Someone disable his permission to edit the draft on UnityDocs, please! Hello, I'm McKing and I aim to write an original story with elements I've never seen put together before. Feel free to point out any mistakes you see — I'm not a native speaker, so I'm sure a few will pass me by. Sci-fi; Humor; (Brazilian) Urban Fantasy; faint shades of LitRPG. **Be warned it has a bit of an (absurd) slice-of-life beginning though the story is being subtly (I hope) worked on and eventually shifts gears (a bit). I planned to say that from the beginning, but I forgot to add it.** I hope that you enjoy it and that I can grow as a writer with your contributions. No Fixed Update Schedule. My inspiration comes in bursts and so will the Chapters. Sorry if that displeases you (I love regular updates too), but I'm afraid that's the best I can do for now. Keep in mind that it is a work in progress and things can eventually change a bit - I'll try to always note the changes. Sorry for the bad cover, it was the best my sorry skills could do! I hope you enjoy it,Mcking

Wild Child
Flynn was a normal college student with a normal routine. Wake up, go to school, come home, do homework, laze around until midnight, lay in bed trying not to let the existential dread of inevitable death set it, and go to sleep. Completely normal stuff, really. That is until he mysteriously wakes up in a space between dimensions with game-like prompts demanding he purchase skills before he is sent off to another world. And look at that, it only takes 95% of his skill points to buy the [Eternal Youth] skill, what a steal! Too bad that in this new world there is no civilization, uh… anywhere. ---------------- Hey all, this is just a side project I’m working on in my spare time so I don’t get burned out while writing my more planned out stories. I’m making all of this up as I go on, so read at your own risk.
