Day One Hundred And Sixty-Six
Verses: '"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.'"
James 1:2-4
No one likes facing trials. Maybe right now you are facing a trial. Maybe you are facing stress from work, school, or COVID. Maybe you are battling a mental illness, chronic illness, cancer, COVID, or maybe you lost a loved one. No matter what trial you are facing the best thing you can do when facing any trial is to run to Jesus (Psalm 121:1-2).
When facing trials, people can react in different ways. You can either run away from God or run to God. The best thing you can do is run to God. So how do you run to God? You run to God by seeking Him through reading His word, worshiping Him, praying to Him, and listening to Him. And you need to seek him daily. I know I say this all the time but you ever want a close relationship with God, you have to put in the time by seeking Him. Just like with any relationship the more time you spend with them, the stronger your relationship will be.
So after you continue to seek God daily then comes the hard part, surrendering everything to God. So why should you surrender everything to God? Because if we try to fix our trial by ourselves it will never work. But we surrender our trials to God and trust in Him, then He will give us the strength to face and overcome our trials (Isaiah 49:13).
How do you surrender everything to God? You start by praying: "God I surrender EVERYTHING to you (then you list everything you surrender to God." Then every time you start to worry about your trials you have to stop yourself and say out loud. "NO I am not going to worry or be afraid because I surrender everything to God. So I put my hope and trust in Him." You may have to say that to yourself thousands of times each day. But if you do this, it will work. I know because I have done it and God has blessed me with so much joy. God will bless you with joy if you surrender everything to Him, and choose not to worry (Isaiah 49:13). Because with God on your side, you can do anything (Matthew 19:26)!

So run to Jesus, surrender everything to Him, choose not to worry, and put your trust in Jesus. I promise you if you do this, this will change your life for the better. So what are you waiting for? Run to Jesus!
Prayer:
Dear God,
I pray that as I seek you daily by reading your word, praying to you, listening to you, and worshiping you that I build a strong and close relationship with you. Lord I choose to surrender everything to you (list everything you are surrendering to God). I choose to put my faith, hope, and trust in you. So Lord, anything I start to worry, please remind me to stop worrying but instead fix my thoughts on you. Lord, I ask you to help me to stop worrying but instead trust in you. I praise you because you are so good to me. I thank you for your love, kindness, grace, mercy, and forgiveness. I praise and thank you for everything you do for me.
I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.
In Jesus's name, I pray, Amen!
