It was the next day and the picnic was tomorrow and we were just sitting on the couch as a whole family and auntie was telling us a story at 10pm.

Auntie was starting to finish her story.

" the bird is in a cage, and the cage is in a town, and the town is made of blinding white flowers and beautiful lies " she says with the softest tone while we listened with amusement

" If we can finally see the lies and the town and the cage we're inside of maybe we can see many other things too, we can see the door... a way out and we can fly away " she says with the most softest tone again while I slowly start to close my eyes and fall asleep

I woke up and i saw that I was in my room instead of the living room.

I stretched in my bed and I remembered that today was the picnic.

I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth then got into the shower. After the shower i did the typical hygiene things and found a cute outfit to wear for the day.

I went downstairs and saw that everyone was already up and making goodies for the picnic this afternoon.

"well good afternoon y/n it's 3:30pm" Layla says while packing her brownies

" 3:30 !? you sure it isn't 9am " I say

They all laughed.

" anyways, today everyone has a lot on their plate so you know what that means " auntie say with jazz hands

" Errand day " we say groaning

" haha I already put the list in your car Layla. chop chop now.. uh and also I love you guys " she says

" love you too " we say walking out the door

We went into Layla's car and immediately saw the list on the front seat.

" how did she even get in the car without my keys " Layla says

" do you think the whole story thing last night was staged " Layla adds

" if it was it was really good but what's on the list anyways " I say putting on my seatbelt

" help Dior make his picnic goodies" josh says

" and " I say

" that's all " Layla says

" Seems easy enough " I say

They both looked at me and laughed. We started to pull out the drive way and started heading to diors house.

We got their and we saw Dior outside playing ball. We exited the car and started walking towards him.

" what are you doing Dior aren't you supposed to be inside you know baking " Layla says

" and I'm guessing you're here to help me" he says out of breath from playing ball

After he said that we all started to head inside but before entering Dior pulled me to the side to tell me that Mikey and yasmine were inside .

" it's fine " I say careless

We both then headed inside and started getting material out to make goods.

As soon as we went inside I didn't see Mikey and yasmine though.

We started baking and immediately after measuring the flour Dior drop it all over me and him.

" diorrr !! " I say in shock

" my bad lil shorty " he says smirking

" all good I was making a second Batch while you guys measured that one anyways" Layla says smiling

" and I'm guessing this isn't the first time you dropped flour " I say removing flour from my face

" nope but you guys go clean up. Me and josh will finish the goods for you Dior " Layla says cracking eggs

" preciate it " he says removing his shirt

" I don't have any you know cloths to change Into " I say looking down at myself

" but I do, let's go " Dior says starting to walk upstairs

We went upstairs to his room and he gave me a sweatshirt and some sweats and told me theirs a bathroom on the outside of the house.

I started walking towards the bathroom but I heard voices inside a room that sounded like Mikey and yasmine. I decided to ease-drop on their conversation.

" do you think it's easy for to see you always taking about this y/n girl. I don't even know how she looks like " yasmine says

" ok and ? let's not forget you're the one that ended things with me so why does it matter " Mikey says

" yea I broke up with you because I was mad at you not because I stopped loving you " she says

Their was a moment of silence and then she spoke again.

" ok here it is... her or me, and I'm sure she's really great but Mikey.. I love you " she says starting to cry

After that I moved away from the door and went to the bathroom.

I looked in the mirror thinking Mikey most likely chose her because he wouldn't have to pick between us two if he really loved me.

I shook out of my thoughts and started to clean up and put on the cloths that Dior gave me.

After I was done I started getting out the bathroom. I saw but yasmine near the the room where her and Mikey talked, I'm guessing they weren't talking anymore because Mikey wasn't around.

" oh sorry " she says getting up off the ground

" it's ok you're fine " I say slowly walking away

" um hey I never got your name because you left early yesterday and everything .you know " she says making me stop in my tracks

" uhh yea, I'm Luna " I say knowing I was lying

" nice to meet you I'm yasmine " she's says but I already knew

We talked for a few hours but after a while I went back down stairs while she stayed upstairs. I saw everyone including Mikey .

" y'all about to dip lil shorty but thanks for helping me guys " Dior says eating some of the goods

" you welcome and don't finish them before the picnic please " Layla says taking off the apron she had on

Mikey didn't seem to knowledge me so I didn't really worry about him. We said our goodbyes and went back home.

While we were driving home we were all just ranting to each other about how much we love one another.

We pulled up back home and went inside. It was around 8:00 pm.

" ugh y/n please change, josh get the goodies in your car and Layla please clean up " aunties says immediately after walking to the kitchen

" chop chop you have to be at your picnic around 8:40 if you want to watch the stars in time and remember I always love you guys " she says again

at that point we all did what she asked and we were on our way to the picnic site.

" I've been on my feet all day but I can't wait to see Kennedy " josh says

" you know what I just thought of Layla you never really speak on Kennedy's and Josh's relationship " I say

" it's my best friend and my brother in a relationship. I don't want to speak on that " she says then making a puking sound

" but I let you date jalen and he's my best friend " he says pushing her arm

" chill bro I'm driving " she says focusing on the road

After a while of driving we finally arrived at the picnic site, it was really beautiful.

We got out the car and went to setup our blanket on the grass.

" uh y/n you can stay here, me and Layla are gonna go get the stuff out the car " josh says

" alright " I say with a light nod

While they were getting their stuff out the car I went to say hi to a few people and surprisingly I saw bronny but I decided to give him his space just like he asked.

After Saying hi to people I just left out of place so I went in the parking lot and just stood their on my phone.

I heard my name a couple times so I looked up and I saw that it was yasmine sitting on a truck. I started walking towards her.

" hey Luna I didn't know that you would be here " she says with a friendly smile

" uh yea surprise " I say

" um anyways I'd like to say thank you for helping me with my situation earlier ...but I feel like he doesn't love me anymore " she says sighing

I sighed also and said " take my word on this.. he really does love you but sometimes we love people so much we have to be numb to it "

She got off the truck and gave me a hug.

" thanks y/n " she says

I pulled back quickly not knowing she knew my name.

" it's fine I recently just found out from my boyfriend" she says looking down

" Mikey.. congratulations.. on getting back together " I say

" I'm so sorry I didn't- " she starts saying

" don't apologize, it's fine. He picked you cause he loves you " I say lowkey heartbroken

She just smiled and walked away while giving a friendly wave. Once she was out of site my smile turns into a frown.

I slowly started walking back to where we put our blanket .

As I was getting closer I saw bronny was their.

" hey " he says noticing me

" you ok ? " he added

I sat down next to him and looked at him.

" he left huh " he says putting my head on his shoulder

" yea " I says really soft

" is their anything their " he asks looking down at me

" no. He's in love with someone else " I say getting off his shoulder

We hugged but then josh came back rushing saying we have to go. I quickly got up and waved bye to bronny.

" what the rush ? Is everything fine ? " I ask

" I don't know but Layla says we have to go it's an emergency " he says

We finally got to the car and Layla was in their crying and telling us to get inside quickly, we did as she pleased. She quickly drove off still crying.

" Layla what's going on " josh says confused

" please stop talking please. This can't be true" she says stilling crying

She quickly started driving and after a while we slowly started pulling into our neighborhood but as we slowly started approaching the house we saw that it was on fire.

Flames filled the house.
