《You Saw Right Through Me》The Avocado and the Kork

"Alright...." Kiyo looked away. "Are you sure that he will say yes?"
You leaned back on the couch with a grin. "I know he will. We've known each other for almost twenty years, it's rare that I'm wrong about him." You moved Kiyo's hair from one of his eyes, as if you were a parent. "Don't worry... he really cares about you."
Kokichi walked into the living room, a surprised expression on his face. "Y-You're still awake?"
"Yeah...?"
"It's... It's 8:00 in the morning."
Kiyo got up in a panic. "Oh, Rantaro may have woken up already. I thank you for the advice." With a small bow, Kiyo left the apartment and went across the hall to his own.
"Anyways, Kokichi, how do you feel about going shopping later?"
Kokichi deadpanned. "Again? Didn't we just go shopping yesterday?" You shook your head aggressively. "Not for stuff like that! Kiyo and I have a plan. I just need to find the nearest scrubs spot, different from the last one we chose."
"Huh? Why the nearest?"
You sighed. "Well, Rantaro... doesn't like cars. He says you 'miss so much when you're in them'. He's only ever been in one when he's helping someone."
Kokichi furrowed his brow. "Doesn't he have a driver's license...?" You shook your head. "I do. But ironically, he's a better driver."
"He just has steadier hands." Kokichi teased. "When you're nervous, both your hands and legs shake."
With a sigh, you leaned back. "S-Sorry about that, by the way."
"About what?"
"You know, always having to help me..." Kokichi intertwined his fingers with yours and smirked. "The Supreme Leader doesn't use up his time to help just anybody, Mind Reader."
You smiled a little and leaned on his shoulder. "Alright..."
.
"Oh Kiyo!" You sang, opening the apartment door. Kiyo looked up. "Oh, Y/N. Good afternoon. Rantaro is out right now, so it should be the proper time to go shopping."
Kokichi leaned on the door frame. "Well? Come on, the car's in the parking lot." You and Kiyo looked over. "Our car... is always in the parking lot...."
"We live in the same apartment complex."
"Yeah, but it feels cooler that way."
You smiled. "Okay, okay. Kiyo, come on." You took his arm and pulled him to his feet. "To the mall!"
...
"Okay, so, I have a list of things that Rantaro likes." You said, walking through the mall with Kiyo and Kokichi on either side. "Hm... while he doesn't seem like it, he likes the basic romance like flowers and lanterns and such. Right Kokichi?"
Kokichi nodded. "He asked if I wanted to get you flowers, but nobody knew your favourite. Besides, we were already going to a cherry blossom tree clearing."
Kiyo grazed his finger on his chin. "It seems like he enjoys beautiful scenery, and the average romantic gestures."
"Mmhm." You scanned your list and pressed your finger against one of the words. "His favourite flowers are peonies and hydrangea... although he doesn't know the names."
Kokichi raised a brow. "How are they his favourite flowers if he doesn't know they're name?"
"He just describes them as 'that one flower that looks like a bunch of flowers making a sphere' and... well, he knows what peonies are." You sighed. "Well, we'll see which one is available."
Kiyo tilted his head. "And if they're both available?"

"Then, you choose!" You smiled and walked over to the flower shop. "Hey Shin!"
Shin waved to you. "Hey Y/N. Didn't expect to see you here!" You chuckled. "It's best friend business. Do you remember Rantaro?" Shin nodded. "Ooh, so is that the Kiyo you told us about?"
Kiyo looked up. "I was not aware that you told others about me." Kokichi crossed his arms. "Don't word it like that!"
"Anyways, we'll look around." You said to Shin. He nodded. "I'll give you a discount if you want."
"Really? Thanks a ton!"
Kiyo and Kokichi followed you, looking around at the flowers. Kiyo stopped in front of the hydrangea and seemed to caress the petals.
"Hm? Do you like that one?" You walked over and looked over at the flower. "His favourites are the white ones!"
Kiyo silently nodded. "They are... quite beautiful."
"Does it remind you of someone~?" Kokichi teased, softly elbowing Kiyo. A light blush appeared behind Kiyo's mask, just peeking out a bit. "I... do not feel obliged to answer that question."
You chuckled and crossed the flowers off the list. "Okay, now, Rantaro really likes food from other places. I don't think we've ever been to a local restaurant... other than fast food."
Kiyo looked around. "There are a few restaurants around... however..." Kiyo's eyes travelled to the ground as he thought. "I do know a recipe, instilled into my thoughts through the killing game."
"Alright, so that's solved! Next would be the area."
Kokichi raised his hand as if he were in class. "Didn't you say Rantaro doesn't like cars?"
"Yeah... but, a boat could work."
Kiyo nervously fidgeted with his hands behind his back. "Well, I'd prefer having the proposal... private."
"Of course! So, we'll rent one out!"
Kiyo was silent for a moment before Kokichi walked over. "It's a rich person thing, don't sweat it."
"Why do they still live in an apartment, then?"
"They like being near everyone."
You grinned back at them. "Hey, are you going to follow me or are you just going to stand there?"
.
It's been a little over two weeks, and everything seemed to be ready: the boat was rented, there was a beautiful night coming up at the end of the week, the food was cooked, and the flowers were now ordered.
"Alright, and you'll say?"
"Will you marry me..."
You crossed your arms. "Kiyo, you don't sound confident at all!"
He put his hand on his arm. "I-I apologize..." You sighed and sat down next to him on his bed. "Kiyo? What's wrong?"
"...Her..."
You tilted your head. "Her"? What does— Oh... "Kiyo." He looked at you and met your (e/c) eyes. "What exactly did your sister say, if you don't mind me asking?"
After a moment of silence, Kiyo inhaled and...
I quiet gasp escaped your lips as you cupped your hand over your mouth. Perhaps I really should've killed her again.
"There is no need for you to be concerned of—" You put your hand on over his. "Kiyo, no one thinks that about you. She was wrong about you in every way, shape, and form. Rantaro loves you... never, ever let anyone make you think otherwise."
You wiped Kiyo's forming tears with your thumb and grinned. "It'll be okay. No, better than okay!"
Kokichi sighed. "Y/N, you act a little bit like a mom."

"Whatever you say, Kokichi. In any case, the proposal should happen on Saturday, and it's Thursday today. I'll talk with Kaede about the music and get the flowers on the way. Sounds good?"
Kiyo nodded. "Alright."
.
It was finally the day, and if you were being honest... Kiyo looked more nervous than he did before his execution. And that's saying something.
"The boat should be at the dock in half an hour." You told Kiyo just before Rantaro came home. "I'll be on the boat with Kokichi since we decided to disguise it as a double date, so if you need help, come to me."
You went across the hall to the apartment and saw Kokichi sleeping on the couch. "Babe, didn't you get any sleep last night?" You sat down next to him and he lifted his head and rested it in your lap. "I got sleep... but I'm tired."
"Aha... anyways, get ready, it's time to go." Kokichi sat up and looked back at you. "I picked out an outfit for you. It's on the bed."
You poked your head through the bedroom door, scared of what may be resting on the bed, but it was a pretty normal outfit. It was actually pretty nice. You walked up to the bed and picked up the clothes, putting on the clothes.
"And... you are not wearing that." You said once you walked out. Kokichi looked up from his phone and sighed. "Aw, come on!"
"Yes, why don't you go out in public with a bright green denim jacket, a striped yellow shirt, and purple jeans. What the heck?"
Kokichi giggled. "Okay, okay." He walked passed you and into the bedroom, with you deadpanning at him. "I didn't even know we owned those..."
Once Kokichi was changed, you walked to the hallway, seeing Kiyo and Rantaro waiting there as well. "Okay, it's a walking distance, so we don't need a car."
Rantaro pumped his fist subtly and the four of you walked out.
"Why don't we stop by the flower shop?" You suggested, though Rantaro was the only one that didn't know that you were supposed to go. You had already told Shin not to say anything about the pre-ordered flowers, so you, Kokichi, Rantaro, and Kiyo looked around.
"Ooh, look!" You picked up a (f/f) and showed it to Kokichi. "Oh, that one's nice. Do you want me to get it for you?" You deadpanned for the second time that day. "You don't have money." You whispered.
Rantaro's eyes sparkled as he looked at the very flower that was pre-ordered about a week ago. "Kiyo, look at this one!" Kiyo picked it up by the stem and held it in front of Rantaro. "Would you like this one?"
Rantaro's cheeks turned red and he turned away. "Y-Yeah, I'd like that." You suddenly popped up next to them. "Alright! I'll pay!"
While you walked off, Kiyo placed the flower in Rantaro's hands.
"You were right, they are cute together." Shin whispered while you stood in front of the counter. "I know!"
Kokichi walked up next to you and smiled a Shin. "You should find someone so I can plan the wedding instead!" Shin's face flushed and he slouched in his work chair. "B-Boss..." You ruffled his dark brown hair and took Kokichi's hand.
"We'll have a DICE meet up one of these days, I promise."
You walked back to Rantaro and Kiyo, and you had never seen Rantaro so flustered. That's saying something coming from you. "Rantaro, do you like the flower?" Kiyo asked. Rantaro nodded rather shyly and you sighed.
"This is going so blandly..." You whispered to Kokichi. Kokichi nodded and his eyes lit up. "Ooh, I've got an idea."
He gently pushed you and then you bumped into Rantaro, making him stumble into Kiyo's arm. "Rantaro, are you alright?"
You grabbed Kokichi's hand and pulled him to Kiyo's side, making Rantaro think that some stranger had just bumped into him.
"Mm... I'm fine." Rantaro rubbed his shoulder, a light pink hue still on his cheeks. "Th-Thanks for catching me."
You and Kokichi hid grins, your pinkies linked like you had just pulled a prank.
"Alright! We're here!" You announced once the four of you arrived at the dock. "That's our private boat!" You pulled Kokichi towards the boat while Rantaro and Kiyo followed close behind.
Kokichi sat down at the top deck and looked down at you, who was at the bottom. "Is this what Gonta sees all the time?!"
"Probably not that high, Kokichi!"
Rantaro chuckled. "Still free spirited, I see. Kiyo, do you want to sit at the top deck or the bottom?"
"Either one is alright."
"Then the bottom's fine. It's closer to the water."
You turned your head, your eyes sparkling in an excited fashion. "You can recreate the Titanic scene!" Rantaro squinted at you. "Y/N, that is the only scene you know."
"That's the only scene everyone knows... and the door scene..."
Kokichi leaned over the railings. "And the 'paint me like one of your French girls' scene!!" You looked up and tilted your head. "I've never heard of that one."
The captain pulled out of the dock and began boating through the vast lake.
You looked down at Rantaro and Kiyo from the top deck with a smile. "They look... happy..." You whispered. Kokichi grinned and held your arm. "You look happy to see them happy. Or to see anyone happy..."
"Genuinely happy." You added. "Not the menacing type, or the fake smile. Like that smile when you eat your favourite food, or watch your favourite show. Like that face that you make when you drink Grape Panta!"
Kokichi sighed and rest his head on your shoulder. "No... when I look at you."
"Oh, so sly."
Meanwhile, on the lower deck, Rantaro and Kiyo stood at the front of the boat, watching the water seem to speed pas them, the ripples radiating from the bottom of the boat.
Well, Rantaro was watching the water. Kiyo couldn't take his eyes off of the green haired boy. Like he was mesmerized.
"Whoa, did you see that fish?!" Rantaro said, grabbing Kiyo's hand. "It was so pretty, right?" Kiyo nodded.
The sun slowly began to set, and it was just off the horizon when you tapped Kokichi's shoulder. "Let's go below deck." You whispered. Kokichi nodded and the two of you went downstairs.
"Hm? Where'd Y/N and Kokichi go?" Rantaro questioned. Kiyo looked at the ground. "They... uh... went to get snacks below deck, I believe."
"Oh..."
As if the sun had stopped right on the water line, the sky covered with different hues of pink and gold.
Kiyo cleared his throat, gaining Rantaro's attention. "Kiyo? Do you need water or something?" He shook his head and held Rantaro's shoulders, moving him about two feet away, right in front of him.
"Rantaro... I'm not quite sure how you gained an attraction to one such as I, but I know that I had fallen for you when I first spoke to you."
Rantaro tilted his head. "Y-You mean when I gave you Y/N's number?"
"...Yes, in a sense." Kiyo cleared his throat once again. "I have told you this before, and many already know this, but enjoy studying the beauty of humanity... however, you have shown me that not all of humanity is equal."
Kiyo paused, his golden eyes meeting Rantaro's green irises.
"You showed me that humanity has you, the most beautiful piece of humanity. A true treasure. And I felt the need to ask you this important question, that has been lingering in the back of my mind quite a bit lately."
Kiyo knelt down on one knee and Rantaro's heart began beating outside of his chest, his face boiling.
"Rantaro Amami, would you be interested in spending the rest of your life with me? Will you marry me?"
Rantaro's vision blurred, something that hasn't happened since the End Wall. "I... I... I will! I would be interested in spending the rest of my life with you! I would love to!"
You and Kokichi were seated right underneath, Kokichi sighing plainly. "They really switch characters when they're alone together... I wonder—"
"I don't know what you're thinking, but I'm going to cut you off right there."
Rantaro and Kiyo shared a long hug, the engagement ring now on Rantaro's right hand ring finger. "I... I love you." Kiyo managed to say, though he was scared of it.
"I love you, too."
You walked to the top deck alone, since Kokichi, Rantaro, and Kiyo had fallen asleep below deck on the couches.
"Y/N."
You stopped. "Long time no see, Shinguji-chan."
"I don't remember being friends with you."
"Neither do I." You crossed your arms, turning in her direction. "You're supposed to be dead and gone. What do you want?"
She floated up next to you, though you were barely able to see her. "I—"
"Your brother could live without you... he managed to do everything without you. He found a job, he gained friends, and he found love. Turns out you're not as important as you thought you were."
You turned away without another word and walked down the steps, leaving... well, leaving no one. Kiyo's sister wasn't really there... she was more or less a hallucination of the dead, like what Kokichi used to have.
"Are you guys up?" You asked once you got below deck. With no response, you simply smiled and placed food on the table. "Well, we're docking now, so it really doesn't matter if you're up or not."

"How do you feel?" You asked, fixing Rantaro's tie. He was nervous. Really, really nervous.
Somehow, you had gotten hold of all twelve of his sisters in 6 months, and Kokichi always said that your power was more than mind reading.
"I never had the power to read minds, Kokichi."
Rantaro adjusted his collar in the mirror while you two of his youngest sisters, Kylie and Kayla, put on their dresses.
"Mom did always say you were gay."
