Testing Fate
Part 8
*Selena’s POV*
“So how’d it go?” Vanessa said barging into my house.
“Hello to you too. Please come on in,” I said sarcastically as I picked up an empty cup that was on the table walked over to put it in the sink.
“Hi how are you? Yeah, yeah. Blah, blah. How was the date?” she asked quickly following me to the kitchen.
“V, calm down. It wasn’t that big of a deal. We went to the children’s hospital, then to a small little sandwich show and eat then we went home. That’s all.”
“Really cause that’s not what I saw on E! this morning,” she said in a sing song voice as she began to look through my pantry for something to eat.
I closed the pantry door staying her dead in the eyes. “What do you mean?”
“I saw a video of you and Justin kissing yesterday before he got out of the car,” she explained with a smirk.
My hands flew to my head and I began to walk in circles around the island. “What am I going to do? It really wasn’t what it looked like. Justin went to kiss me on the cheek and I turned and we accidently kissed and he’s going to hate me.”
“Selena, calm down. It’s not that big of a deal. Just call him. I’m sure he will understand,” she explained causing me to stop walking.
“Call him?” I asked making her nod in response.
I grabbed my phone off the counter and went through my contacts until I found Justin’s name.
Right as I was about to press it my phone started ringing as Justin’s name popped up on the screen.
I hit answer before saying hello.

“Hey, Sel, it’s me uh have you seen the news?” He asked getting right to the point.
“I just heard about it,” I sighed looking to Vanessa for support.
“I’m so sorry,” he said, making a confused expression rise on my face.
“You’re sorry? No, I am the one who turned my head. I’m sorry,” I explained.
“Um… anyway,” Justin said into the phone. “I was wondering if, I don’t know, you maybe want to like go out with me tomorrow?”
“Like a date?” I asked as I watched Vanessa’s eyes grow wider.
“Yeah… Or not. Whichever,” he said before he let out a nervous laugh.
“Sure, Justin. I’d love to. It’s a date. I’ll see you. Text me the details,” I said with a smile before hanging up.
“You’re giving him a chance?” V said clapping her hands together with a smile.
“Might as well,” I said with a shrug.
“Hey um, I have to go do something but feel free to stay here,” I said grabbing my keys.
“Where are you going? Can I come?” she asked giving me her cutest face.
“Nowhere and no. Sorry love you bye!” I said as I ran out of the house.
I wasn’t exactly sure where I planned on going to find out what I wanted to know but I knew somewhere I could start. Maybe they could give me some information. Fingers crossed.
*Justin’s POV*
I couldn’t believe that I had finally worked up the nerve to call Selena and not only finally talk about the kiss but also ask her on a date. Which thankfully she agreed to.
However before our date tomorrow I had some serious work to do.
I showed up to the studio a little earlier than I said I would be there just because ever since well, the award show really I had had a lot running through my mind.

“Whoa man. What are you doing here?” Ry asked in a shocked tone.
“You act like I’m never early,” I laughed as I grabbed a rollie chair by the sound board.
“Cause you’re not. If anything, you’re usually late,” Scooter said as he walked in.
“Well, you better take a picture cause it won’t be happening often. I just had a lot on my mind and I wanted to get started early okay?” I said as I pulled my writing notebook out of my backpack and a pencil.
“Could this have anything to do with a certain something I happened to see on TMZ this morning?” Ryan asked with a smirk as he nudged my shoulder.
“Maybe, maybe not. Can we like not talk about that? I need quite, please.”
I got up off the chair and went over to the sofa as I laid on my tummy letting my feet dangle off the back as I began to write what came into my mind at the moment.
I hummed a little melody in my head as I wrote down a bunch of words that popped in my head.
“Scooter, I can’t do much with you watching over my shoulder like that,” I sighed as I could feel him breathing down my back and looking at what I was writing.
“It sounds good so far. The lyrics are catchy too,” he said nodding his head as he walked away.
I sat up on the sofa so I was sitting before I looked at Scooter as we went to observe other people who were doing their jobs.
“Hey Scoot, can you tell me what’s going on this week again?” I asked.
“Well we have the studio all night tonight then you have an interview with Ellen tomorrow afternoon then you are off Wednesday. Phone interview Thursday morning and then studio and more studio,” he explained looking at the calendar on his phone.
“Am I preforming on Ellen or just interview?” I asked.
“You are supposed to be preforming too. Why do you ask?”
“If I have this song done by the morning can I please preform it?”
“Justin, I don’t know if that’s a good idea. I mean we have to record it and you know how long that takes then edit and all that people would be wanting to buy it and we wouldn’t have anything to sell. Let’s just stick with an original okay?”
If he thinks that’s going to happen he must be on something.

Sacrificed in Thirty Seconds
A somewhat unusual reincarnation story, where the main character is thrown into a new world and tries to survive. It is a combination of survival/adventure. I wrote it as a fast-paced, action driven story. If you like slice of life, or extensive descriptions, it is probably not for you. This is my first book here, I will not remove it, but do not expect anything special.
