I heaved another deep sigh and rearranged my clothes in the closet by hanging each one of them. The door was knocked and Liz, Luke's mother came in wearing a huge smile on her beautiful face. It amazed me how they could all smile the same, and at the same time, creep me out.
"Hey, Liz." I threw a genuine smile to her while she sat on the bed of the bedroom that I was given.
She spoke, "Do you any want any type of food? Or are you picky when it comes to food?" She sounded concerned about my choice of dishes.
I smiled, "Any type of foods would be fine," I stopped and then continued, "Except pet's food."
We both laughed and then I realized that it was my first laugh for today. Mrs. Hemmings did tell me to feel like home and the way they treated me made me home.
"Can I ask you something?"

I was a little taken aback but nodded slightly, my laughter quietly dying.
"Do you know anyone named Jason McCann?" She waited for my response by analyzing my reaction to that name. Surprisingly, I was told by Scooter if anyone asked me anything, I should just say I have known Scooter for a long time and I had a little hard time with the payment of my house rent, so Scooter sent me here because the rent payment is lesser. He also told me to be careful with words that everyone play with.
"No, I don't," I held a pure confusion look that she actually did believe. She let out a sigh of relief before getting up the bed and smiling back like she asked nothing serious before.
"There's pizza downstairs."
I squealed a little. "Favourite," and Liz laughed.
As I walked out the door, I made a mental note to myself. I have to be careful and that I can't be fooled by people, even the nice ones.
