Sunsets

Pink, orange, and gold.

I watch them and immediately feel safe and calm.

But then it fades to a blue glow

and I see the stars.

I look at the moon.

A smile appears on my face.

If I could, I would stay out here for hours,

staring at the sky and feeling free

from all the things that have been consuming me.

Out here is an escape.

A place where I can disconnect from reality.

I wish it could last forever

but the sun has to rise...
