Connor's eyes widen a bit, seeming surprised that I listen to this.

I let out a soft chuckle, "I'm over it, don't worry."
He slightly lets me out of the hug, but is still holding onto me.
"I've been so reckless lately. I want to apologize for that as well."
He sounds so upset.

Not saying I don't doubt he's sorry for what he's done, but..
"Please Connor," I say. "I assure you it's alright, I promise."
The song somehow makes this all the more upsetting.
Connor continues, "I also want to apologize for-"
I cut him off, "Connor, please, trust me."
Connor ignores me, "I just shouldn't have left you alone at the arts and crafts store, (y/n). I should've stayed with you.. I allowed you to be in that situation.. I.. I'm.."

"It wasn't your fault, Connor," I say. "I deserved it, after all."
I give him a slight painful smile, trying to convince him that I'm right.

Connor stops slow-dancing.
My smile falls to just simply an open mouth as Connor's LED flickers from blue to red.
"It.. it wasn't, (y/n).. Please, believe me.." He whimpers.
I can do nothing but stare at him as I watch his brown, mechanical eyes begin to water.
"Connor.." I say.
The tone of my voice sounds like the definition of despair. I suddenly feel a lump in my throat as Connor continues to belittle and blame himself in his mind. It's like I can feel it.
"(y/n)," Connor says, visibly having a lump in his throat as well. "What ever made you come to that conclusion?"

Connor lets go of my hand, using it to slightly lift my chin up.

I feel a tear roll down my cheek as Connor softly wipes it away with the back of his hand.
"Then.." I whimper. "Don't fucking blame yourself either.."
I see Connor's tears finally fall as they roll down his cheeks. I let go of his hand and wipe one cheek with my thumb.
