《As You Wish : Loki Fanfic》Project Insight: Part 1

Bucky and I were called and escorted to S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters the next morning. I wasn't a super soldier, so I was in some pain from the fight yesterday, but I had to put that out of my mind and focus.
Project insight was about to launch, and it was our job to make sure all three helicarriers launched smoothly. Unfortunately for HYDRA, we had other plans. If project insight launched, tons of people would be killed for being a threat to HYDRA. Bucky and I were going to make sure that never happened.
We were being led through the ground floor by eight HYDRA agents. We were going to the launch site so we could stop resisters. Bucky and I followed orders all morning as we walked to our final destination. Bucky didn't know what the plan was, only that there was one. He was following my lead and I had to signal to him when to start.
When we finally made it onto the launch deck I glanced at Bucky.
"You ready?" I asked him. He glanced at me and nodded. "On me, James." I told him before quickly taking out my favorite gun and shooting the two agents closest to me. Bucky followed and pulled his gun on the agents closest to him.
When all eight agents were down, I looked up at Bucky.
"Five to three." I told him with a smirk. Bucky raised an eyebrow at me and raised his gun, shooting something behind me. I turned to see one of the agents I shot slump back to the floor. Apparently he didn't stay down.
"Four to four." Bucky corrected. I rolled my eyes and flipped him off as I grumbled a 'whatever'.
I stepped around the bodies and looked out over the chaos off the launchpad. One of the helicarriers were already in the air. I knew that Sam would get it, so I wasn't worried.

"What do we do now?" Bucky asked.
"Now," I sighed, "you go help your best friend save the world." I smiled at him. "But, ya know, no losing an arm this time."
"What about you?" Bucky asked knowing I was planning something else.
"I," I started as I reloaded my gun, "am going after Pierce." I smiled maliciously.
"You're still hurt," Bucky told me. "Let me come with you."
"You can't." I shook my head. "You can only get to him with advanced access to the building, or-"
"Or if you're a punk who can teleport." Bucky commented. "Ya, I get it. Just don't like it."
"Well, Jerk, you have a best friend to make up with anyway. So go. Make nice." I said as I spun and started to walk back into the building. "Oh," I said and turned, walking backwards. "Just don't do anything stupid until I get back." The next thing that happened was the most rewarding thing to ever happen to me. Bucky smiled, a genuine smile. It was small, but it was there.
"How can I when you're taking all the stupid with you." He sighed. I smiled back and gave two thumbs up before turning around and teleporting into the building.
The building was just under my teleportation limit, so I could teleport into Pierce's conference room. The problem was that there were other people in the room and I didn't know where they were standing. So, instead, I teleported outside of the room and looked in through the glass wall.
Natasha was already working on exposing S.H.I.E.L.D. and HYDRA to the world. There were three councilmen in the room with Pierce and Natasha. There were also three downed HYDRA agents, courtesy of Nat. One of the councilmen was holding a gun aimed at Pierce to make sure he didn't try anything.

Pierce was talking to Natasha, trying to convince her not to upload the files onto the internet. I walked closer to the glass and raised my gun. Pierce's eyes drifted to me and a small smirk tugged on his lips. I nodded to him before teleporting into the room and aiming my gun at Natasha, because who didn't like a little drama.
Nat quickly picked her gun up form beside the computer and aimed it at me.
"Hey, Nat." I said and stepped closer to her. We were only about ten feet from each other.
"Sam." She responded.
"Whatcha doin'?" I asked.
"Oh, you know, just saving the world." She shrugged. "You?"
"I'm taking out a target." I smirked. She smirked back before putting her hands up like she was surrendering. I held the tension for one more moment before spinning and training my gun on Pierce. "Hello, target."
"You're making a mistake, Sammee." Pierce told me.
"Really?" I asked. "Because I don't think so."
"Ok, how about a deal then." Pierce countered.
"I'm well past making deals." I told him and cocked my gun.
"Not even to save your precious Soldier?" Pierce taunted. I faltered slightly making Pierce smile. "See, I figured you would try and wake him up. And after watching the tapes of you two together? I was positive." He continued. The fear in my chest was growing and all I wanted was to get back to Bucky. "It's a good thing he comes with a fail safe." Pierce smiled smugly.
My eyes widened at the thought of the trigger words. They would still work. I couldn't do anything to counteract it.
"One phone call, and I'll stop it." Pierce told me. "Better hurry, I don't think he has much time left." He said and gestured to the window with his head. I glanced over at Natasha, who was still working on the files, before walking over to the window. I looked down at the launch sight to see Bucky on his knees, holding his head. Someone was walking towards him slowly, probably the HYDRA agent saying the trigger words.
"No..." I whispered before teleporting to him. I didn't think, I just lifted the gun and shot the man between his eyes, but as soon as he was down someone else continued the words.
"Печь, Девять, Добросердечный-"
I spun around and looked for who was saying it now. When I found them I shot and killed them just as I did the other.
"Возвращение на Родину, Один-"
"Fucking stop!" I screamed and turned to shoot the next agent who started the words.
"Товарный вагон."
"Я жду приказаний." The Winter Soldier responded.
"Eliminate targets Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, and Samm-"
The agent fell to the ground as I put a bullet into his brain. I turned to see not Bucky, but the Winter Soldier staring back at me.
